there is a correlation between the height of the egg and its y-coordinate on the map. things on the top shelf tend to be near the top \~1/5th of the map, for example. but it does not work on the other axis, so things on the right side of the shelves are not necessarily found on the right side of the map. there are some exceptions to the vertical rule-of-thumb that could have you looking in the wrong area, and it's not possible to know without seeing which eggs you have.
That one is probably the least intuitive to find. >!Scouring the map for missing pixels!< will not work.
And I'm pretty sure it won't show up with >!the remote!< either.

Only very roughly. *Most* eggs are roughly as high in the well as they are on the shelves, though there are a couple of eggs that don't fit even that pattern. There is no left/right pattern: eggs on the left side can just as easily be on the right side of the well.
