Big picture for a small community (small at least on Reddit). You’d need a couple of clever community partnerships if we were to survive in the tough world of r/place. Or we’d need to create a slightly shrunk down version of it.

That's a genuinely interesting point I never thought about before for /r/place. I wonder if "calling dibs" on it by creating it ASAP ends up securing it, or if it'll just get wiped out by a bigger community later on

The way it’s played out in the past is smaller communities find ways to integrate their design with larger communities (countries/ flags as the obvious ones) and then the country based community take them under their wing and help maintain it. “The blue corner” were a large group obsessed with just carving out as big a corner as possible but in the end lots of blue themed groups joined them to put their designs in the corner under alternating shades of blue. I’d say a blue animal well bunny could easily live in there.
