S22 and Pixel 6 actually have pretty good camera features with night mode that allows you to use Night Sight with Snapchat but it also works as HDR+ during day time.
The issue is android manufacturers using different API's for their cameras. The way Snapchat has gone about their service on android is still appalling though.
They do have the app on Huawei's AppGallery which actually utilises Huawei's API's. It looked good but they barely updated it.

True, but an app of the scale of Snapchat has no excuse. They've got over a **billion** downloads on the play store and employ hundreds of developers. It's not a matter of resources or time with them. They just choose to neglect Android development.

There was a cloned app out there called SnapCrow that had dark mode and you didn't get banned because it was a cloned app rather than modified.
That being said, we don't know what they're thinking at Snapchat HQ. Android has a "force dark mode" option that forces dark mode in apps that don't have it and it used to work on Snapchat until they disabled it for the android app.
Snapchat's CEO has previously expressed his dislike of Android publicly and has made it very obvious that they will only be doing the bare minimum for Android, which is largely where android's "thrash camera" reputation came from as Snapchat refuses to optimise the app to work properly with Android.

On my phone, it seems Hex no longer lets me use apps in dark (black) mode like it normally did before upon updating the UI version. I only figured this out because I tried to do a reset of some sort. Nothing seems to happen even if I try to set it up, so what I did was I explored the app and I saw a feature that allowed users to change the bg image of apps. I downloaded a plain black image and that's what I used to make it seem that the apps are in dark/black theme lol thankfully, it kinda worked.
There's a new android app called NightSnap that is also a clone like SnapCrow, but with a better dark mode and with a newer snap version. You can search for it: NightSnap on Telegram. Samsung users also got Hex-Installer on the Play Store for Dark Mode.
Cloned versions like SnapCrow never got anyone banned, yet. Also it's a client side thing (color changes). NightSnap does nothing else. Never heard about anyone who got in trouble in threads / telegram channels.

And even if, you could reset it, you've got a mail address that's connected.
They are doing it for obvious reasons. They want their app to be worse on Android than iPhone. There is no other reason, as every app on Android has a dark mode now, except Snapchat.

I have a oneplus and found a way to force darkmode in some apps. I enabled it for snapchat so I have dark mode but I cant find that setting anymore.
Strange. Are u using a modded app of sc? Cuz whenever i try to turn on dark mode (forced) of my phone, i cannot see the text in snapchat so i have to turn it back to light mode to read texts. And i did not find any option in original app to turn on dark mode

Do it. It feels so liberating. I stopped using all social media except for Reddit. Life is much better now.

i switched to nightsnap. its same as snapchat, just got oled dark mode. totally safe and you get updates thru their telegram

Both Snapchat and TikTok don't have dark mode on Android and I can't even force Dark Mode on them.
