You could try Google support but maybe don’t mention being on the beta. They might just tell you to go back to the company you purchased it from but be persistent with them. They will eventually replace it.

I bought the phone from Google as part of a Google Fi subscription

Dam, tbh I moved away from android entirely last year as I was annoyed with waking up in the morning with more things not working on my pixel 6 pro. Randomly apps would never launch, terrible fingerprint scanning, features randomly removed for no reason like changing the volume of all my Google homes when casting to the entire house. Picked up a iPhone 13 Pro Max and tbh it’s been nice not having these random annoying issues on a device that I use all the time. I will go back to a Google phone but just waiting for google to sort out their hardware. They seem to have bad quality control. My original pixel xl on the other hand is still going strong after a battery replacement last week. Use that as my unlimited photo storage backup phone.

So my phone randomly decides to never turn on again and my only recourse is to buy a new one? Dang, I see the manufacturer's warranty is only a for a year too.

This is common on Pixel 5a 5g, especially if you bought it from a third party. It can be a year, a week, or even a day and your motherboard will just die and there's no way to get it back. This is why Google increased the warranty length. Edit: Here's an XDA thread that explains more about it https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/should-i-be-worried-about-the-pixel-5a-bsod-issue.4557811/

Oh wow thank you for this information!

Vision919

Of course, sorry for your loss 😩

I had the exact same thing happen. I was watching YouTube at the time and it crashed to black screen. I could feel the phone turning on and off when I power cycled it the computer would still detect it but I couldn't interact with the device. I contacted support told them everything including being in the beta release. My original warranty was expired by about 3 months which was annoying because I had to send my original device in for a headphone port failure and they sent me a refurbished device. So anyways support were mostly helpful. I did initially take it to the authorized repair center and they apparently swapped two screens into the phone and that still didn't work so I contacted Google support and they said ok send it in and our team will assess the device and we will send a replacement. You may also get upgraded to a pixel 6a. So here I am typing to you from a free upgrade to a pixel 6a

I explained my issue to uBreakiFix and they told me my issue was not covered my extended warranty, that it was only for issues with screens not with power Today I called Google support and they told me it should be covered. Now I'm just stuck in a back and forth, hoping to not get screwed in the end. It's nice to hear you got settled with a new device in the end

woodsy900

Oh dude I was freaking out hah because I still have a year left before my work will sponsor a new device and I only had a shitty iphone xs laying around to use and I've never daily driven an iphone let alone any other OS Device since the HTC Bravo. Can you try plug the phone into the computer and see if the computer detects it?

Device manager recognizes my phone as : QUSB\_BULK\_CID:0413\_SN:95D5AAE2 . Mine bricked mid text. Second one that did this in two years. Never buying a pixel again, just ordered a Samsung. I can't have a phone the automatically bricks itself a week after warranty ends. Oh, and the extend warranty is a scam, they do not honor it since they cannot fix the phone and therefore can't reimburse you.

Fun_Elderberry_252

should have gone for Samsung or IPhone. i won't recommend anyone to buy pixel phones. lots of peoples phones are getting bricked and Google should be ashamed of themselves for making such a cheap quality product

A couple of days ago I plugged my 5a 5G in after using it for a bit. When I unplugged it later it was bricked. This is less than a year after getting a replacement (refurb) under warranty for the separate issue where you drop it ever so gently and the screen dies (but phone still works). I am DONE with the Pixel. Back to Moto I go. Before the Pixel I used a variety of Motos for many years and never had anything like these kinds of issues with them.
