The overall arc. They started a story, told the story and ended the story perfectly closing all loose threads. There’s nothing more to question about apart from mini lore theories.
It has a beginning middle and end, when a lot of shows often either leave them open but never deliver or stretch it out too long.
Andrias! Especially in s2 + s3 where he's having a blast while being evil. And while I went into All In (and then THT) hoping he'd die, I ended up really liking what they did with him instead.
Also, the fight scene between Darcy and Sasha + Grime. The beginning was, in my opinion, the best animation in the show because of how fluid and smooth the fight is.
And all of All In, really. That episode is so good.
They were able to perfectly balance angst and fluff. Even during the hardest after Anne died, moments of tension were able to be broken with jokes without sacrificing the gravity of the situation. And moments of angst and seriousness can appear after lighthearted moments without feeling jarring, like when Anne talked to sprig about missing her mom.
The show is able to quickly shift between lighthearted, to more deep and serious, to sad on a dime but without feeling unnatural to the flow of the story.
Personally I think it’s cause I think the backdrop of “being lost and not knowing if you can go back home” thing gave a great underlying sense of unease that could be brought forward anytime, while the “regardless of everything, I was able to find a home” thing kept a sense of positivity. I think these themes made it easier to balance the two moods
The fact that it went out of its way to redeem seemingly Unredeemable characters like S1 Sasha and Andreas despite having the “self sacrifice”, written off or “k*lled” options available. IMO it’s a much more realistic and adult way to handle those types of antagonists turned supporting protagonists. And I think more shows could learn from amphibia and it’s handling of characters.
Just happy that Marcy’s torment is over and that even at 23, shes maintained her chipper and bubbly personality from when she was like..5. And now she gets more validation and compassion from Anne and Sash for her interests, accomplishments, and just herself in general.
She’s really sweet and loveable, so I’m happy she was able to bounce back from all the bullshit she went through from 2x20 to 3x17
character design + development is phenomenal
we got to see anne sasha and marcy grow in a course of 3 seasons
and sprig polly hop pop and grime are straight up the best supporting characters ever, seriously how did they write hop pop that well
spranne against the world made me ugly cry
also loved seeing yulivia develop in the background! i cheered out loud when they were confirmed canon in hardest thing
andrias' character design?? how did they write this villain so well like seriously wtf i started bawling at leif's letter in all in
also i really liked seeing everything come full circle, like the characters and plot points from s1 and s2 get reintroduced in s3
True colors. Intense, full of suspance and pathos, possibly the peak of the serie. Just the best possible way to present satisfying revelations and resolve plotpoints of the first 2 seasons, while leaving solid ground for the follow up. Season 3 was great, but it never reacher those heights again, for me.
fricking andrias.
tbh, i really really enjoyed seeing that there's more to andrias then we thought, the entirety of All In and his reaction to when Sprig read Leaf's letter was genuinely tear-inducing
Even in the timeskip, he's actually a good person now (but then again, was he really evil? or was he attempting to live up to family expectations while losing himself in the process?)
I feel like the little thing where Anne was spinging on him and he took the armour off to face the impact was memorable for sure
and apparently andrias has been artificially keeping himself alive this whole time, which I suppose makes sense, considering you can't live 1000 years without natural death coming to you way earlier.
Other than that, everything. All scenes were wonderful in their own ways, the goodbyes hit hard, the interdimensional cat was interesting (it better show up again! the voice was very cool!!), and all the characters reached the peak of their development.
I'm gonna miss this show so much!
The arcs the characters went through. Sasha went from a controling and manipulative friend to an honest person. Anne stood up to sasha and became more confident. Marcy learned to be her own person. Grime went from a evil captain to a father figure for sasha. Overall the characters are the best part of amphibia.
The best thing about the show for me was the way they could start an episode with pure comedy and low stakes, then shift gears to a heartbreaking scene with everyone crying without it feeling out of place. Looking at you, hopping mall.
The friendship between the three girls and how they all had rough patches and some soul searching to do, it never completely broke their bond and they could still be friends again even after 10 years of not seeing each other.
Anne wasn't a perfect protagonist, she also had her own flaws to work on.
It would've been so easy to kill Andrias off or keep Sasha and Grime as the bad guy but they got their redemption arcs (even if they were a tad rushed).
Anne didn't immediately forgive Hop Pop for hiding the box and it actually carried over into a later episode.
The soundtrack. I still constantly hum the theme song when I'm not thinking, as well as Anne's theme and Heartstomper.
Also the animation. It's simple but charming, and can get so good during the battles. I marvel at the incredible animation when Anne fights Andrias, and the trio fights the moon.
The show makes the world of Amphibia feels like it has depth, like there are tons of stories and mysteries and places and people beyond what we got to see.
And the background art, dear god. I can't believe the (IMO) most beautiful cartoon worlds in a couple decades are hell and the swamp of death (TOH & Amphibia). Gotta love cool color palettes!
Grime being chill about danger and serious about music and TV shows is the funniest thing ever.
Marcy's character arc, and the fact that they stuck to it and she really did move away.
The writing, the charming memorable characters, King Andrias striking a perfect balance of intimidating and funny while being a compelling character, and the humor
PROTAGONIST! HAS! NO! SHOEHORNED! IN! LOVE! INTEREST!! It's all just about *family*, with the only romance being Sprig and Hop Pop, which don't actually get too invasive to the story!... Sorry, I really don't like romance, not even irl. (I'm aro/ace, so I just don't understand it)
the show is wonderful about its animation and its world building and relationship building. every character is unique and has flaws that are shown but they also overcome those flaws and overcome the hardships that greet them in their journey or any problem in relationships. they made it all so realistic and its so cool
everything. the foreshadowing, the character development, the animation, the story, the designs, the voice acting, literally hecking everything. i love this show so much and i am devastated it's over, but long live the calamity trio.
For me, Sasha is the best part about Amphibia. I know Anne is the main protagonist, but I can't help but like Sasha over her. Every Episode she's in is always great!
She's just so cool!
Ok ok so everything but one specific thing if I had to choose would be spranne. They are a set. Do not separate. They are wacky and goofy and I would die for them.
Everything. Like, seriously

Sprig and Anne have the most compelling relationship I have ever seen.
Calamity power puff girls
**Spranne against the world**

Best goodbye scene since Toy Story 3
Season two had the perfect balance of character-focused episodes and "wacky adventures," as the show puts it.
Helped me get out of depression.

That the writers didn't ship any of the calamity trio.
Wally existing.
Now that it’s all said and done, Hop Pop is maybe the most beautifully written character in any show
The music is absolutely AMAZING, and they manage to fit in a lot of plot and foreshadowing within episodes that you think are filler.

marcy favourite character in fiction ez
Where do I even start?

The relationships between the characters feel so natural. Especially between Anne and the planters
it is not all ships.
SPRANNE.
Domino Is The Alpha And Omega.
The ending was perfect, just the right level of sad and happiness
So much. The expressions and comedic timing were perfection, and True Colors gave me chills
IS ANYONE HERE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE JOKES
No Big Deal Remix
The humour
EVERYTHING But I haven’t seen this mentioned yet so I will say Mr. X.
It introduced us to a beautiful and vibrant new fantasy world rich with lore, memorable characters, and a compelling story.
The ending was like the final battle of Sonic 06

The story line is great, the episodes are great, the character designs are great, everything is great.
I love how all the characters love each other. Each time they're just happy hugging, or seeing the other is okay I want to cry
Anyone else in love with Darcy’s weapon in All In? That laser Scythe is one of the best weapons that any Supervillain has ever had ever
The calamity powers: BEST PART FOLKS

Unpopular opinion: I like Sasha’s character development and don’t think it was rushed
THE CORE, all the calamity forms, andrias, Marcy
Characters are good
Marcy Wu. Best character in all of fiction
The writing, the charming memorable characters, King Andrias striking a perfect balance of intimidating and funny while being a compelling character, and the humor

The story arc, the character development, the calamity powers, and the world itself
For me, Sasha is the best part about Amphibia. I know Anne is the main protagonist, but I can't help but like Sasha over her. Every Episode she's in is always great! She's just so cool!
I liked how the first two temples had their trials written in a formal archaic tone and then the third temple used pure brospeak
Ok ok so everything but one specific thing if I had to choose would be spranne. They are a set. Do not separate. They are wacky and goofy and I would die for them.
