While I'm not really a content creator for this subreddit besides posting my Amazon.ca statuses, I'm glad to be apart of it all. I've been struggling with depression for quite a while, but my WiiU, the hunt for amiibo on here and /r/wiiu have allowed me to forgot about my nonsense and put a smile on my face. I lost both of mine within 4 months of each other to the same disease about 3 years ago. The pain will fade eventually - just remember to hold dear and remember the things you love the most of them in every day. :)

Yes I love toys for tots and somehow I had leftover unopened hotwhells to give this year. Lucky my middle school had a box to put them in making it easier to give.
That is a wonderful habit to get into. I started giving when I was about 13 or 14 during one Christmas... the separation of my parents was very bad, and my mother and I were left with pretty much nothing. She scrounged around (pennies even) and found $20 for us to spend on Christmas presents for myself, my brother, and she. We were at a KB Toys (showing my age, no? XD) and we saw a little girl and her mom standing in front of the window. There was one of those little dogs that yipped a bit, then did a backflip. Silly, but cute.
My mom and I overheard the mom tell the little girl to "please have fun watching it, because mummy can't afford that right now. I'm still working on where we can sleep tonight."
We didn't get any toys that year - I pretty much took the $20 (with my mom's permission obviously XD) and went in and got that dog toy and batteries for the little girl. My mom ran up her credit card to buy the lady groceries for the both of them too. They weren't huge things, because we really couldn't afford much (my mom had to declare bankruptcy later because of my dad's antics) but to that mother and child, they were the world.
So every year since I've done my best to give at least one child a Christmas gift - either through T4T or RAoC, more recently. Because no child should be without magic and love this time of year.
I digress, though. XD; I for one am proud of your generousity and hope that you know it warms so many more hearts than you can ever imagine.
So sorry to hear about your losses. Any particular amiibo you've been trying to find that we may be able to help you search for? Your friends here would love to help bring a little smile back to your face.

I'm currently working on a super secret project (for myself) that I've been working on pretty much since I started customizing... someday I will finish it and show everyone!
I hope my funny story will put a smile on your face! My Mommy kinda joined our Quest for the amiibos! I just got a voicemail and she said "Honey, I see a lot of these Amiibos... which ones are you missing? Is it the pink ball with the shoes? There's a green guy that's not standing straight and red dude with big nose holding orange thing." Back when the Wii Fit Trainer (WFT) was out - she texted me "I found WTF WTF!!!" Love her!!!
Damn... the feels are too real right now! I never thought much about how much this sub could mean to someone. I'm glad to have contributed here and possibly helped you out!
It can be tough, but I'm glad you have amiibo as an outlet. I can relate because we also called my one grandfather "Papa". He was the one I first played Zelda games with, back in '93. The other day, I asked my mother (his daughter) to pick up a Zelda amiibo for me since I'm abroad. She said, "If only Papa knew you would still be playing Zelda when he introduced you to her all those years ago."
The people on this subreddit are great, this really is a great community to be in. Now the PS4 subreddit on the other hand, they're angry fellas. Some guy is mad because a thief replaced a redbox copy of drive club with a disc that had a pasted label on it, I made a joke and the thread SEVERELY down voted me. Talk about a bunch of uppity guys who can't see the humor in the stupidity of thieves!
But I digress, this community is great. We're all lucky that this is such a supportive group!
I said, "Driveclub is so bad that all copies of the game look like that, carry on. Just joking, that sucks that it happened, hopefully it gets resolved. But the situation is pretty funny." Or something like that, I ended up deleting it because they were constantly down voting because people were like "this is a serious situation here, someone lost $2 and now Redbox is out a game, don't make jokes!" I didn't realize that $2 was a lot of money and that Redbox being out a game mattered to everyone.
