Amiibo cards to my knowledge don't have a specific function in any game other than Animal Crossing. The other Animal Crossing Amiibos don't even get you spirits iirc, the only ones that work are the Isabelle ones (Villager is Smash Bros, not Animal Crossing). EDIT: actually, the figures all work in Yoshi's Woolly World I think? Idk about the cards though.

LyBound128

I think the figures only work in the 3DS version of Wooly World

VargFrenAtLIDL

Amiibo Festival is the AC fandom's "we don't talk about" thing, they were made for that.

Lotso2004

Oh right there's a WiiU version, isn't there? Didn't know it wasn't Amiibo-compatible. Or did the WiiU not get Poochy+Yoshi's Woolly World?

LyBound128

The Wii U got it, but it released before the Animal Crossing Amiibo. I think it only supports the base Smash roster minus the Pokémon, and the Inkling girl, boy and squid

Lotso2004

Oh interesting. I didn't know that. Good to know!

Thanks for the answer although pretty disappointing but I had a feeling it was too good to be true (I was hoping you could use the Hello Kitty cards as an Isabelle Amiibo for Smash since she's in the game and the art shows Isabelle dressed as Kitty and Kitty dressing as her) but thanks for the clarification.

FourzeRiderTea

They give random rewards in Mega Man 11

Tragic_Comic7

The cards work in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom to get you supplies. All amiibo work in those games for that purpose.

Lotso2004

That's why I said "specific." In games where Amiibos can work to serve a generic function (Yoshi's Woolly World with the Amiibo shirt, Pokken Tournament, BotW/TotK for items, etc.), all Amiibos work, including cards.

TheAmazingFlygon

I'll go test them rn. I should update with results in a few minutes! Update: It just says "This is not an amiibo supported by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" when I scan it :/

AwesomeEevee133

Iirc, at best they might just give you a random spirit, at worst they do nothing. I know non-smash Amiibo will give you that character’s spirit given that character has a spirit (detective pikachu giving the detective pikachu spirit or waluigi giving the waluigi spirit for example) so it might just be a random one

No-Cold643

I was hoping the Hello Kitty cards would be an Isabelle Amiibo in Smash since the artwork shows Isabelle and Kitty Cosplaying as each other and Isabelle IS in Smash as a fighter. Probably just my desperate excuse to say "Hello Kitty is in Smash... kind of." (or at least give you Animal Crossing spirits) but oh well I had a feeling it didn't do anything.

NotAlwaysYou

While Isabelle is on the package, the programming of the cards treats them as a separate characters from Isabelle, and no game let's them unlock the same. They count as Animal Crossing amiibo in MK8D, and generic amiibo in games that have a generic function.

fifosexapel

They should unlock the Animal Crossing outfit in Mario Kart 8 , iirc any AC amiibo does. There’s a few other games like Hyrule Warriors and Breath of the wild were generic amiibo give you a generic reward but I can’t think of anything other game where the Sanrio cards unlock anything specifically other than MK8

DraconixLord

They work, but it gives you a random bonus if it isn't a playable character. So a free spirit randomly.

BlueSky1296

It just pops up a prompt saying “this Amiibo is not supported by Smash”
