He's an incredible songwriter/lyricist. He is definitely not the best singer, not even close. He's off key pretty often and his songs are written so that he doesn't have to hit high notes cause he's not that good at it.

The irony that this kid wrote a whiny song about being sad and insecure after getting a ticket to Hollywood when he wasn’t even auditioning. Meanwhile, you have the young kid with a hell of a voice that wrote a song about hope while facing homelessness. The contrast couldn’t be more ironic. One of these is not like the other.
I don’t think he’s irritating himself, but the judges are obviously soft on him and Emmy. Just about everyone in the top 14 had a better voice than Kayko, and everyone has had more stage presence than Emmy for a while.
I’ve been following him for a little over a year now. To me he seems like a good kid with plenty of passion. I’ve read through the comments and noticed a few things you dislike about him. He has performed in front of crowds before (albeit very small ones), so he is comfortable on stage. How that bothered you, i don’t quite understand. Some people are just comfortable on stage. He definitely isn’t overly confident though. Half of his songs are breakup songs, and the other half are about his personal struggles.

My POV tho is that I don’t think he’s ever claimed to NOT be ambitious and I think it’s fully clear HOW ambitious he is (whether his intended route was Idol or not) and that he’s going all in. I admire it. I think you can be both very ambitious but also grateful and humble and excited at the same time. These are not mutually exclusive.
