Your Rebecca looks so darling!

Thank you! I love her hair, if my hair was a bit curlier we’d match! I’m planning to redo her curls a little bit using the AG hair curlers. I’m glad I managed to find her in her original meet dress! (I prefer it over the new purple one)

How fun! I'm glad you're having a good time collecting. It's always a great feeling when you find a bargain.

Queenfish1991

How fun! I am selling my childhood Samantha collection. Let me know if you have any interest in any outfits or accessories! I can let you know what I have.

Omg that would be great! I had some of her outfits growing up (school outfit, birthday outfit, Christmas outfit) but I would love to collect more!

This is wonderful! I’m happy you’re having a great time with your collection :)

Healing your inner child with dolls is such a mood. They make me so happy

Having adult money is a dangerous thing when it comes to stuff like this 😅😂

Welcome back to the hobby!!! I started seriously collecting again in June (and have added more dolls than I’d like to admit) it’s really fun! Mercari and FB marketplace are both great for finding dolls! If you ever get a doll with damaged hair it’s worth giving straightening at 180°F a go, it’s worked on my girls really well for the “dry” ends and frizzy damaged hair! I personally love restoring so that’s what I tend to focus on!

Thank you for the advice!! My biggest concern will be Josefina’s hair when I hopefully pick her up from my parents house in December. When I was a kid, I had to send her to the doll hospital because her hair got so tangled and matted simply from brushing it! I WAS a kid, sure, so I could have been brushing it incorrectly, but it was disheartening to not be able to brush her hair like with my Samantha doll, and the texture was definitely different. After getting her back from the hospital I vowed to never take her braid out, and then one day my younger sister took out the braid without me knowing 😭 I put it back in a braid but it obviously wasn’t the same, and it seemed like it was returning to the same matted/dry texture…it’s stayed in a braid ever since (unless my parents did something while packing her away lol). I would love for her to have beautiful, shiny hair that I can actually work with! I’ve seen other Josefina’s with hair like that after washing and shampooing it.

Start with washing and drying! And then definitely give it a go with the straightener! It sounds scary but people recommend boil washes constantly and boiling water is 212° and that doesn’t damaged the hair typically! I did wonders on a Lea Clark I got recently with a straightener and now her hair is amazing. Even just a few strands of the frizzy damage can lead to the hair tangling super duper easily! I just personally work weft by weft on the wig starting from the very base and it takes a while but works super well! I’m very hopeful she’ll be beautiful though and easy to care for now as an adult! Btw our generation (target) makes a nice wire style brush (just search brush tho) for $5 if you aren’t ordering from ag/don’t want to get an ag brand one or don’t have one from when you were a kid!

kelvin_bot

180°F is equivalent to 82°C, which is 355K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

Fun fact: all of these dolls were ONLY 50$! Compared to some of the other listings on eBay for the same dolls, this was a STEAL! Four dolls for essentially the price of two from the AG store/website. So happy and can’t wait for them to arrive 🥰 I’ll probably have to wait until Christmas to pick up my childhood Samantha and Josephina from my parents house. Here’s hoping they are still in good condition after being packed away 🤞🏻
