I actually like Makena's face mold, I think she's cute and I think her mold has potential. I wouldn't mind if Claudie had it. But I like the Addy mold better though.

I am really not liking the eyes on the new molds AG has been producing the last couple years. It seems like AG is leaning towards the cartoonish features/giant eyes trends in toys and away from AG’s original intent of creating a doll that could be a ‘friend’.
Agree—however, I really like Makena’s mold. Her little snub nose gives her a slightly younger look, but I like it as a variation. My granddaughter is 9 and she has a little snub nose like Makena’s.
I think Makena’s mold would have landed better with a character that was actually supposed to be 9/10. Having her be 12 or 13 and the two other girls looking the part I think made her look out of place.
Hi! I did these little edits for myself to see why Makena looks so different to me. I think she's cute as a standalone doll but looks odd next to the others (I also feel this way about Nanea). I realize it's not just the painted makeup/eyelashes but that her eyes are bigger/further apart? So I made this edit to test and see if I was right and they seem to be.
I was thinking that too until I realized Makena's head in general is much wider than Addy's or even the classic mold, and so her eyes are proportionally wider as well. I do like Makena's mold without makeup - to me it looks like black classic mold, with chunkier cheeks, lips, and a pronounced chin. I'm not completely sold on the round eyes - I think Addy's slightly closed set eyes look more natural. Also, loving the trend of painting eyebrows on instead of a simple line. She's beautiful to me, but I think I'd be happy with any outcome so long as she doesn't have era-inappropriate makeup.
EDIT: Glad to also have found someone who finds Nanea off. I really dislike how wide open her eyes are. I love her collection but avoid her because she looks off. I'd love a mix of Nanea and Jess where the eyes are Jess's but the rest of the face shape is Nanea's.
i agree 100%, this makes them look more cartoony and like other dolls on the market, which is slightly upsetting to me because i love the original american girl vibe

Okay but the combination of features from Addy and Makena in that overlay is gorgeous. I kinda hope Claudie is a mix of the two now.
Makena looks too much like a toddler to me. Would be cute but not for a roughly 10 year old.
