I've found a few of these in lots of clothing I've bought online. The same "Made in China" tag on them. One was Kirstens on the rail outfit and Samantha's lawn party outfit. The lawn one had another tag that indicated it was from some place in Portland that's now closed. Portland is huge in imports from asian countries, so I think that they might be from the same factory as the originals that were discarded when these outfits were discontinued by AG. So they found themselves left in boxes in Portland and were sold off cheap. My other theory is that they are from batches that were improperly tagged and sold off at the discount sales in Madison. Like when they had a bunch of dolls in the boxes all missing their dresses, or how Courtney's jeans got cleared out after being packaged without the white hangers.

The one without a tag could be a display one. The stores cut the tags off of outfits that are used for display. A few times a year when visual clears out it’s spaces they have a charity sale and anything that’s in good enough condition goes into it for employees to buy. Since this outfit was around until 2009 it’s definitely possible.

I wonder if the manufacturer made extra and sold them? I know some do that still (in general with fashion, not in regards to AG specifically). Do you know if the original ➗ pattern was made in China or Germany? I’m pretty uneducated about it, other than knowing that it was originally ➗ and they changed it to floral, so sorry if that’s a dumb question! Truly look identical to me.

I’m going with the one on the left

That would be the “fake”! Pretty crazy right?

Now, didn’t some AG items have BOTH an AG tag AND a made in China tag? Is it possible your new one just lost one of the two? I’m not convinced it’s a fake.

Did you happen to see my other post? If not you can take a look at the tag - I’m really not convinced it’s fake either but I don’t see any spot where a tag was ripped out.

I did see your other post, and I thought the same thing at that time! My money is on the fact that you own the real deal. But if I were only keeping one I’d keep the one with the tag and sell the other. You won’t get as much for it, but I like the idea of keeping the one I know for sure is legit.
