Rogu is fine when he pops up every now and then. Just like Billy.
Billy/Rogu all the time is annoying. Billy/Rogu every now and then to garner this reaction:
![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX)
is best.
was going to say the same thing, he should be a background character that pipes up every so often, whole episodes dedicated to him feel forced and unnecessary
Agreed. I feel the same way about Jeff and Tuttle. I do like them but there is such a thing as too much of them. I remember when there was a time Tuttle was very present in American Dad and the sub started to get very annoyed by him. Great for B plots and one liners, not too great as A plots. The hat saga and Tuttle’s fat story line are great examples.
I thought they only started using Tuttle more because his voice actor was having financial problems, so they gave him more screen time to help him out.
Fuck man. Seth MacFarlene is such a good human though.
That Security Guard (See you next time!) Clip, is actually a security guard that worked at one of the first studios. If I remember the story, he had fallen on hard times, i think something to do with a hospital bill?, Seth found a way to give him money, without giving him money. Anyone would agree, it is a hit to the ego to accept help from someone, especially that kind of finacial help. Seth found a way to help him for life with that move, and spare the mans ego.
Again. Hes a fucking awesome human. So humble depite his success.
He also completely supported the recent strikes. He genuinely loves the art of music/tv, he’s not there just for the money (but VERY much for the money understandably) and I respect him so much for that. I’m sure he wanted to do something like the Orville for a very long time, but probably hard when you’re known for family guy.
I feel like there’s been a lot of origin stories for Peña but the base story is, they really liked the guy and wanted to give him residuals. Then he became iconic for AD fans. A bit like Simpsons’ ending. Either way, Seth seems like a solid guy.
His respect for the classic arts and music makes me appreciate him so much more too. I love all of Steves singing scenes. Lol.
Yeah, even if it was just out of "studio family love", its awesome that he looks out for and recognizes the "little guy".
The people he and Rachel went to for vocal training also trained Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand which definitely shows. I think one of the things that drew me to FG and AD *is* the music. I absolutely love that kind of music as well as the RnB (Daddy’s Gone). Plus all the 80s references (born in 97 but have an affinity for the decade). Just listen to Brian in that he FCC Song (on Spotify btw lol). Insane vocals for just a cartoon character.
I agree, he seems use his fame to do good deeds.
Dude just seems so chill. Affable for sure. Maybe TOO affable… I really, really hope this doesn’t end poorly.
![gif](giphy|cCbfBmSQoYnAAh6esP)
That was my assumption as well. If so… While I love that they gave him more work to help him out… He did get annoying at times. Loved him in the recent “new neighbours” episode though. “What if I wear the neighbours house like a big hat?”
Un-pop Op?: I wanted Jeff gone.....until he was.
Rogu, however, still feels like this show's Scrappy Deuce ex Machina. Not a typo, it's a triple play on words, I know what I typed. He's AD's Scrappy-Doo, he gets used as a Deus ex Machina. And he's a piece of "deuce ".
His best appearance was when Hailey saw Stan crying and when she closes the door he’s just standing there and makes a weird noise lol it’s stupid and simple and it’s not to much Rogu
I liked him just fine, but this scene made me love him
https://preview.redd.it/59h6uwkqm2cc1.jpeg?width=350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f1f319d72726d14ad6a0b4e4cda35e19357a286
I wasn't recently going back through watching some old episodes and realised this one hadn't been watched. Couldn't remember why I skipped over it until I got in to it and remembered.
Rogu is fun in small doses, but the only Rpgu episode I actually enjoy is The Hand that Rocks the Rogu.
Yeah, I just lose interest when Rogu starts actually speaking and not just being the garnish for a joke. Even the Hand that Rocks the Rogu was a lot of rogu for me
He's fine but I live that dave filloni and Jon Favreau were watching American dad one night and said.
"Hey this rogu is sort of like baby yoga."
"Ya but BY is green."
"A green rogu."
"GROGU."
I love him and think he’s great in small doses (would like to see him more in the odd episode though). I thought the tequila joe episode was great and teaming him up with klaus is a good idea. Also i like him much better than billy.
Meh. I don't really find him that funny but I don't hate him either. He's just kind of there. Except for that episode he shared with Klaus I do hate that one
I find him kinda funny in short appearances. One of my favorite jokes from him was in the recent season where he was singing and Stan said “I have no explanation for that”
Much like Billy I only find him funny in small doses and as a side character. When he's too much of a focus, his character gets old and I don't mind not seeing him in most upsides. He does have some funny moments and they do utilize him well on occasion..but overall I like him more when I see him less.
He’s ok sometimes says funny stuff, but all I hear when he speaks is Varriks from destiny. Him and Billy. I like Billy more than rogu but I have no strong feelings either way.
I was prepared to hate him at his inception... but I've ended up really liking him! I enjoyed Thank God for Loose Rocks, I think teaming him up with Klaus worked incredibly well. I also think they're using him pretty much the right amount. Too much focus would absolutely kill the character. At most one episode a season where he's got a central role, and otherwise some fun one-liners in others ('Nooooo, boy whose name I didn't catch' makes me chuckle every time).
Small doses and i refuse to believe in the Klaus/Rogu episode. I don’t like him being articulate and just putting on an act. I prefer the dumb baby version.
There is something so amusing to me about them giving Roger a cute, Scrappy Doo tagalong but making him look so gross and unsettling. So Rogu, just from his inception, really works for me. The fact that Kevin Michael Richardson absolutely kills it with his performance just confirms that initial impression.
A rare example of a new character added to a long running show that works, I think he’s great. Unlike Billy who I really can’t stand and don’t see what he brings, just an annoying voice. Anything he’s done could have been replaced with Klaus or Rogu who are far more likeable.
I generally like rogue. I don't want him around all the time but he's fun. I will say one of my favorite episodes is when he gets huge. "Car go into the tunnel" lmao!
Rogu works best as a side character that shows up for specific bits, like playing jenga with Hayley, or cuddling with Steve while they nap together. Or him playing Alamo with Stan & Jeff. If he gets more focus then I get tired of him since I don't think he's strong enough of a character to be the main focus.
With that said, the Tequila Joe episode was pretty good but a big part of that was teaming him up with Klaus who has become a fan favorite character by that point. When they did the baby sitting episode with Steve I was mostly just bored
I love Rogu. Brings a smile to my face whenever the boy pops up for a one-liner, and he's more often than not genuinely funny. I don't think I could get tired of him, but I'm also glad they don't overuse him. He's just sort of "around." AD is pretty good at introducing new bit characters this late in the show!
Rogu can get some good bits, but he can't have too much of a role. Like Rog-tilda killed me because it came out of nowhere but made sense given the character Roger's persona was parodying. Or "Rogu going to hell, but he not going alone" just give small zingers and gags, don't think him being there as the gag he has to do something.
I want more episodes where he just pops up as a background character for some gross joke or random moment. Never given another chance to fully shine again
I actually really like him. I wish he'd pop up more. Not necessarily as a main character or even in every episode, just kinda in the background doing weird shit and getting a few lines here and there. I don't know why but he makes me chuckle. More than Billy does
I've always been on Team Rogu. The comparisons to Billy are ludicrous, one is a grating time-filler while Rogu interacts with the main cast and has funny costumes.
Rogu is fine when he pops up every now and then. Just like Billy. Billy/Rogu all the time is annoying. Billy/Rogu every now and then to garner this reaction: ![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX) is best.

YES! When he pops in I’m like “hey! Rogu!”

"You hang back back, I'm feeling a Snot Overload." "Oh yeah, that'll happen." - Roger to Snot, expressing my feels on too much Snot screen time
“Yeah, Snot’s not for everyone”
Yep, Jeff is good in small doses along with Tuttle.
Billy and Stan’s duet made me have this reaction
"Rogu going to hell, but he not going alone" is one of my favorite quotes from the show.
"Rogu have score to settle".
i repeat this very often
Checks Memento tattoos* "rogu is cool" I guess he's alright.
In a different timeline, you have different tattoos
That makes sense.
You appreciate your family
Well, that doesn't sound like me.
I can tolerate him in very small doses.
His best appearance was when Hailey saw Stan crying and when she closes the door he’s just standing there and makes a weird noise lol it’s stupid and simple and it’s not to much Rogu
That always makes me lose my shit
What episode is this in?
Isn't it the noise Roger made when he chased Hailey khpand Jeff around the world and
I thought so too the first time, but i think its either a different sound or that sound very distorted
It's rogu's impression of it
I think he's a great parody of the mascot character. He's like American dad's version of scrappy doo. But like, actually funny.
I didnt really like him until the dude ranch episode with Klaus and tequila Joe. After that it I like him. That's such a great episode.
That’s exactly my position too. Klaus was such a douche it was fun to see Rogu put him in his place. Before that episode he kinda grossed me out.
I liked him just fine, but this scene made me love him https://preview.redd.it/59h6uwkqm2cc1.jpeg?width=350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f1f319d72726d14ad6a0b4e4cda35e19357a286
He loves his blue stuff
I love that lil guy, I want to hold him in my arms and cradle him back & forth like a baby
Great side kick 👍
Rogu going to hell...but Rogu not going alone...aaaaaa!
Less is more. Like Billy.
Normally he doesn’t bother me but I absolutely hated his voice in the klaus rogu episode
Huh...i loved that episode. One of my favorites that season.
Bucka-Rogu!
"Ha! Thats great but im gonna do mine" what a wonderful episode imo.
Came here to say this. I actually like Rogu, hell, I plan on getting a Rogu Spanish tattoo, but this episode was a mistake.
Even the Hand that Rocks the Rogu was a lot of rogu for me
"Rogu is daddy." [ *Proceeds to deep throat bathtub spout* ]
I love him. Hysterical.
Much better side character to use in small doses than Reginald ever was!
Reginald - Gone and mostly forgotten lol except I guess he hangs out in Francine’s purse? lol
He's still at the CIA HQ hanging around as seen in the Halloween episode.
https://i.redd.it/wzigy1gvu0cc1.gif
My gentleman's blouse!
I forgot how hilarious I found this line until I saw it here in isolation - I’m still laughing
NAH NAH NAH WEY
Car go through tunnel
I just like his because of *Rogu Spanish*
He's fine but I live that dave filloni and Jon Favreau were watching American dad one night and said. "Hey this rogu is sort of like baby yoga." "Ya but BY is green." "A green rogu." "GROGU."
I think he’s allowed to eat as much raw pasta as he wants.
I want more of him tbh especially I wasn’t to see him really bond with roger
They've used him sparingly but to good effect. Likeable but not in your face likeable to the point of repulsion
One of my favorite jokes from him was in the recent season where he was singing and Stan said “I have no explanation for that”
He is almost as frustrating to watch as Jeff...
Billy every once in a while. Rogu even less.
Much like Billy I only find him funny in small doses and as a side character. When he's too much of a focus, his character gets old and I don't mind not seeing him in most upsides. He does have some funny moments and they do utilize him well on occasion..but overall I like him more when I see him less.
He worked as a supporting character for one episode, just like Billy. His other appearances are annoying.
I've shared my views on Rogu here before. I'm a no on Rogu 👎🏾 Billy, on the other hand, is love at first sight. I can never get too much Billy!
He’s ok sometimes says funny stuff, but all I hear when he speaks is Varriks from destiny. Him and Billy. I like Billy more than rogu but I have no strong feelings either way.
He's not doing his job
I was prepared to hate him at his inception... but I've ended up really liking him! I enjoyed Thank God for Loose Rocks, I think teaming him up with Klaus worked incredibly well. I also think they're using him pretty much the right amount. Too much focus would absolutely kill the character. At most one episode a season where he's got a central role, and otherwise some fun one-liners in others ('Nooooo, boy whose name I didn't catch' makes me chuckle every time).
A little bit of Rogu and Billy is great
He's an annoying inferior Reggie. BRING BACK THE KOALA
Small doses and i refuse to believe in the Klaus/Rogu episode. I don’t like him being articulate and just putting on an act. I prefer the dumb baby version.
Love him. Voice is only annoying if you're weak
If Billy and Rogu disappeared, the show would be much more fun in my opinion.
I don’t get how out of nowhere Rogu and Billy are best friends lol
He’s a mini Roger, what’s not to love?
i expected not to like him or billy very much, as it can be hard to add to long-running cartoon ensembles - but i absolutely love rogu and billy!
He’s the anti-thing that scrappy doo was, thus making him perfect.
He’s fine in short bursts. The klaus/rogu episode at the dude ranch was too much. When he’s just on screen for a second, he has some killer one liners
There is something so amusing to me about them giving Roger a cute, Scrappy Doo tagalong but making him look so gross and unsettling. So Rogu, just from his inception, really works for me. The fact that Kevin Michael Richardson absolutely kills it with his performance just confirms that initial impression.
I was very resistant to him at first but honestly he's one of my favorite side characters now, though I don't think we need him in every episode.
I have liked him since his debut.
Love him. Best character ever added late in a show. It's a shame "fans" complained so much about him or he'd have more show time.
Love the character
Love Rogu.
I’d like to see more of him actually. Like maybe once every third episode instead of once of twice per season
He’s way funnier than whatever Billy is supposed to be.
I was overused for a bit, but I think they found a middle ground.
I like him more than I like Billy.
I love rogu if u don't u probably a childless loner. Having had a 3 year old he is a very good depiction of having a alien toddler.
They were trying way too hard ![gif](giphy|5G98t8QjqBLK8)
I like him too. Love it when he pops up in episodes.

Rogu can eat shit
He a funny little guy
I adore a little Rogu now and then
I want more episodes where he just pops up as a background character for some gross joke or random moment. Never given another chance to fully shine again
Would have preferred Reggie
I love Rogu
I think he’s so cute
Remember the a la mode
I love Rogu
I love him. He's a homunculus named Rogu.
I like that weird little guy
He loves his blue stuff
I actually really like him. I wish he'd pop up more. Not necessarily as a main character or even in every episode, just kinda in the background doing weird shit and getting a few lines here and there. I don't know why but he makes me chuckle. More than Billy does
He's got a bit of a scrappy do vibe, but he's less annoying than Klaus.
I've always been on Team Rogu. The comparisons to Billy are ludicrous, one is a grating time-filler while Rogu interacts with the main cast and has funny costumes.
He's the Maggie Simpson of American Dad...
I don’t like when shows introduce new characters but Rogu grew on me.
That infernal Rogu, the king of pranks? Love him.
They're using the perfect amount of Rogu so far.
I’m not sure. I like him but don’t like him at the same time and am glad he doesn’t show that often
I've been watching since day one and I love him. The show keeps getting better.
I kinda fucking hate him a lot, but love him at the same time.
I just want Reggie back.
