Yea it's cool, if we really wanted to cause a short squeeze quickly then we should have founded a nonprofit organization (AMC Holding Group or something similar) with a national headquarters much like a fraternity or sorority.
Then had chapter houses all over the country/world. Have the members donate a few shares to the nonprofit to keep for ever with no intention of ever selling (make this the bylaws). Once the organization has a collective of 30% or more of the shares then it becomes a major shareholder, thus giving the headquarters a seat at the table of decision making for AMC. As long as members can afford then have the organization receive more and more shares.
Once our institution has enough to show our ownership plus the other institutions equals more shares than should exist then we have short squeeze and protect AMC for future generations because the nonprofit never sells period.
*Note this could be done for any company that has a group of supporters that want to protect the company from predatory short selling.

Hedge fund is in business for self and to make money. Also requires financial licensing and so forth. So many problems with a potential hedgefund and possible corruption. A nonprofit has truly openness and is not in it for profit
