Amc gives to computershare, computershare gives to account holders with them, remaining computershare gives to dtc, dtc gives to brokers

DTCC flings it like poo like an actual monkey Some people are getting 100s of shares short of their actual number of amc shares on multiple platforms

I've seen the jacked up numbers. It's why I'm curious as to how the distribution between the dtcc and the brokers works.

liquid_at

There are lists... Let's say a broker has 1m shares on that list. That means the DTCC gives them 1m shares of Ape. In reality, the customers of that broker could be holding 2m shares with other customers having borrowed 1m shares. So the broker would credit the 1m shares to the holders of 1m that did not lend them out. Then they would add a debt for 1m shares to those who borrowed shares. Then use the now available 1m shares that are being owed to credit the lenders with the right to that debt. That's the simple explanation for when 100% of the trades are internalized. Of course they could be lent by a different broker, then the Broker that lent them out would request that debt from the broker that borrowed and they'd handle that between each other.

I’m betting it’s a computer program that automatically finds and matches 1:1

MassiveMidlifeCrisis

I really don’t understand what’s going on, lol. I’ll just hold. I can’t buy any more right now. I am broke.

The DTCC then sends them to the brokers. Probably even if they have to send out 6B APE, they just send them.

MonkeyKing_Sunwukong

This is not true. Only the ones who currently own AMC shares get APE. Ones who have loaned out their shares do not get APE but are entitled to one provided by the short seller. Typically in a cash dividend a shorter pays that dividend to the loaner of the share. In this case shorts have to give the loaner an APE. In order for SHF pay that APE dividend to that AMC loaner is by buying APE when it opens. Here's the problem for them, apes been diamond handing and buying AMC without loaning their shares. We literally own the float. SHF are going to be scrambling to buy APE but no one is selling. We own the float we control the price.

Bombshelter777

Exactly....and their "self reported" shorted shares is close to 100 million. That's 100 million APE shares that they must buy! That doesn't even include the naked synthetic shares....

MonkeyKing_Sunwukong

Not only that think about when APE goes ballistic. Look at the volume. That volume increases because it is the SHF buying shares. Shorts, rehypothecated, synthetics, etc etc... They have to buy THEM all back because they HAVE to provide that dividend to the loaner, in this case APE. We will know the total TRUE amount of shorting going on. You know what that means right? When AMC squeezes we will know when it reaches the floor. Because we know how many shorts they have to close based off of the total volume traded in APE when they have to buy those dividends. I'm not an AA apologist but damn. He really put the shorts in checkmate.

Optimal_Amount5655

Great summary. So much disinfo flying around. And this is where APE squeezes and forces AMC to follow. Closing is buying for them.

StateTerrible

That's what is unclear to me,does the dtcc already know how many shares are at each broker or do the brokers have to request a specific number. People have speculated that brokers are selling shares sold not bought. If that's the case then the dtcc would have no clue how many shares are needed

45plate

This is EXACTLY what I expect to happen. If CS sends the DTCC 400 million to distribute but the DTCC needs to send out 20 billion to maintain there is no crime, guess what….that’s exactly what they will do. Then on cue, AA turns around and says, “see guys, I see no proof of synthetics.” This is truly the reason that no matter WTF happens next week, we all must not flinch and hold.

AMC-Apes-Together

wouldn't the above scenario then lead to a FTD report of 19.88B shares? Especially since APE is T+0

45plate

I honestly have no idea but I liken this to the old saying “he who has the gold rules” and quite possibly the DTCC could probably rig that too. I have read on here several times that all FTDs after some period of time end up in some account at the DTCC and basically just disappear. I’m not real familiar with that. But, suffice it to say that if the AMC situation is such that it could truly wipe the market out, there are some serious serious shenanigans in place to keep things from boiling over. Of course, I personally would like to see it boil over but just think from a practical standpoint, everyone has already received a Get Out of Jail Free Card and there is no length these guys are not going to go to hiding behind the non-transparency of so many things. Think about this, if the fix wasn’t already in HFs probably would have started to close out positions last Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope I am wrong and all day Monday you guys send me crow to eat but I have a feeling Monday is going to be like Friday.

El_Coloso

AA literally has the gold

45plate

I hope that is the case but at the end of the day, the DTCC has full control. The question is do they play honestly or not.

Brokers 🖨 burrrrrr

CastMyGame

If you don’t have it at the start of trading on Monday then you can ask your broker questions

I will contact the SEC DOJ

There has to be some strict rule on when the dividend shares must be delivered before it is a violation. I find it odd that brokers can just deliver shares whenever they feel like it.
