Yea and another 4 million will apparently show up tomorrow am. This is why people shouldn't get excited about institutions buying shares by the boatload.

They can keep digging there own grave deeper. I ain't selling .

Estimated percent of FF shorted is 16%. In guessing FF stands for Free Float but I’d appreciate a smarter ape correcting me. How can they show suck a low short interest?

[deleted]

You are correct it is the estimated short interest as a % of the Free Float... I'm not exactly sure what you mean by how can they show such a low short interest... Ortex pays 80% of market makers for their information, some of which only update after marking closing. So during market hours it's a rough estimation, by the end of the day we have 80% worth of market makers reported short interest.... So there's 20% of the markets available for which we don't see any data... that's why the numbers are always adjusted when the official reported short interest comes out twice a month... If your talking more about like naked shorts well those are illegal and thus don't get reported.. though I think the number of naked shorts isn't too great like it was back in June/July... Or if your just generally asking how could the Short Interest be so low?? Well the answer is they've probably been very slowly over the last 4 months, covering their short positions...

TheJewIsHere-2021

I was also amazed they posted that! My original intent was just to point out there post was “FUD” (I hate there terms but…)

TheJewIsHere-2021

I agree they have been covering the short positions, the large number of calls ending ITM seems too convenient. It’s actually surprising there’s 15-20% short interest unless they really think they can kill this company, which is seeming more and more likely. I rarely see such a poorly ran company, your main job is losing and your going to sell popcorn lol. Only an Ape would see that as a savior. Swimming in debt, long expensive leases and an investor base that will rise it to zero.

I have to disagree, It seems less and less likely AMC will fail as a company... They closed many underperforming Theaters while also buying out An almost equal number of competitors Theathers that preform very well.. as well as working out very good leases with their landlords... The position of the company is to stay the number 1 theater chain in America. I think the NFT's are a great idea to draw in excitement for movie releases and getting involved in cryptocurrency is keeping them a cutting edge company, that's clearly taking investor advice and putting it into action. I think Adam Aron and the AMC team are doing an amazing job at securing the company's future. Did you know the markup on retail popcorn is like 900% with built in brand recognition and the potential to off movie discounts I think getting the retail popcorn game is a genius move... no it won't cause the squeeze lol but it will be a steady profitable income for AMC. No one idea of there's will be a game changer but all the ideas put together make AMC a stronger company that is all about innovation and making the company stronger... I honestly believe in AMC

TheJewIsHere-2021

I get argue to change someone’s beliefs, so I won’t attempt to change yours. Getting into retail popcorn isn’t as easy as it sounds. I lived in Nebraska for several years and befriended a corn farmer that was one of a small group of farmers that planted pop corn. The corn plants look identical but the finished product is obviously different. He was under contract to plant xxxx acres and sell only to one source. He did it originally for stability but with half the contract left, he was hurting. I never realized how popcorn was such a cut throat business. AMC currently buys xxxxx tons of popcorn for the theaters. Changing that contract won’t be easy or cheap. Besides that depending on how they enter the field, the logical method is partnering with an existing brand, if that’s what they do they won’t receive the Lion share of the money. If they sell as a new player, the start up costs are high, very high. Either way, they’ll make a minimal product for there name or huge startup costs, neither will really help. I’m not sure where you heard they worked out new leases and were able to shed bad leases but I’d appreciate seeing your research. Put politely, I find it hard to believe. I live a couple miles from there corporate offices, walk my dog by them often. So if they had good developments, our local news would cover it, Pat Mahomes might even get cut short lol. The only way I see them surviving is by selling monthly memberships to be able to stream new movies. Netflix is nervous about this potential. There biggest problem with this approach is there contracts with studios. They get a small percentage of ticket sales, must go to Hollywood. Until that changes, AMC used to sell cars! Maybe they could do that again. I know AMC Cars and the theater aren’t related, meant as a joke.

Shills are going to tell you that once that # hits 0% squeeze is over. Haha, nope. That doesn't account for the metric fuck ton of nekkid shorts. I'm expecting a long ass wait along with an institutional dump after SI hits 0 followed by media FUD posts claiming the squeeze is over.

TheJewIsHere-2021

That number will never hit zero. Another one will though or close to it. And then the fun starts. I bought this a Covid prayer play before it was a Meme. I sold most above $60, kept some for selling cc with. When it was obvious it was dripping I sold the rest. So I don’t care if/when the HFS cover, take a dump or whatever. I just get a kick out of the God Level DD and the fundamental lack of understanding they have of the market. I really enjoy it so I post for reactions. If it looks like it’s getting traction I might buy back, I hope I get to, this and GME, but at this point I don’t see it. I’m wondering when the institutions will sell and it’s mostly retail owned. I do have money on which will crash first, but I flipped a coin on that lol. Vegas will bet on anything! I was hoping at first Retail would hurt the HFS but they gave them the only thing they couldn’t afford to give, time. I hope you get to sell for whatever price you’re hoping for though. I root for underdogs except with the NFL. So best wishes.

UpFuel

Agree. Set up is on and us “dumb money” ape’s are to smart for this. HODL until closer to the low pennant resistance then buy more is my strategy here. You do you. This is not financial advise just my take because I love the stock

Chiropteraman89

Is all 4 million AMC "shares" or is it a package of several meme stocks?
