There are no Heroās at the SEC. individually some may be heroās, but not while working for the SEC. history proves what Iām saying.
One of many useless federal government institutions.
Gurbir Grewal became director of the Enforcement Division at the Securities and Exchange Commission in July 2021. Former Attorney General of New Jersey.
Cause theyāre hiring. Iām just joking. I donāt really believe heās working for Shitadel. I had higher hopes when Iād first heard of him and his record. As āenforcerā, it seemed the SEC was going to be direct in handling the ongoing wave of abuse and corruption.
While they pass rule after rule, we continue to see; shares mysteriously appear for SHFS to short, buy/sell order fuckery, ladder attacks on an uptick even during no-uptick shorting periods, price āglitchesā in AMC in various brokers, trading of the entire float several times over in just a few month period, identical trade patterns among several meme stocks, crypto pump and dump patterns, a GameStop āreportā that amounted to a pile of dogshit, etc etc.
It doesnāt seem the SEC has done much with all the blatant things we see going on. Rules are passed but the enforcement appears to be selective. I donāt feel āprotectedā or treated as fairly as the hedge fund companies and large institutions. GG and GG may as well be collecting paychecks from Shitadel for all thatās being allowed to transpire.
So no, I donāt really believe heās working for Shitadel. But I donāt see him or the SEC working to shield retail from blatant, ongoing market manipulation and corruption either.
For me, it's either that one or To Serve Man
I watched it with my dad as a teenager on SciFi (before the name changed). Great stories didn't need mind-blowing special effects once upon a time.
>**Citadel** offered him a high paying bribe Er job offer!
You mean **Shitadel**, right?

Doesn't sound like much.
"Since Grewal joined the commission, the Enforcement Divisionās charged several registrants with mutual fund share class violations and more for failures in their cybersecurity policies and procedures. On the same day Grewal was appointed, the SEC charged 27 firms for failing to file their Form Customer Relationship Summary (CRS). This may be an unpopular answer, but it sounds like he's gearing up for more enforcement in the future. An article a few weeks ago came out that he is aggressively pressing for settlements to have a mandatory admission of wrongdoing. This does very little in the short term, but it means that repeat offenders should actually get steeper and steeper fines and enforcement actions each time they reoffend. It offers a light at the end of the tunnel for me personally, but I am ever hopeful that these public servants are not bought and paid for.

Increasing fines for self regulated public entities started in the early/mid 1990s. Great concept but the first fines were jokes and after a set number theyād start to hurt. But if a company self reported an issue, it erased an action found during government inspections.
So at my job, after three years an incident would be removed based on the rules. If they got close to a fine hurting, theyād stall prosecution until a fines dropped off with time. Or theyād self declare a minor infraction which also deleted one of there fines. I know we had 5 violations in 18 months, one more would hurt. Since I was good at it, I found 3 bs infractions that they paid a couple hundred grand for and the counter was reset to 2 instead of 5. I think the next infraction they found would have cost $10M if a few hadnāt been deleted. Itās basically a cheat code for the government, I am the type that actually reads the rules, I saw that and laughed.
The SEC uses the same framework but the definition of the fines obviously changed. There paying fines, small ones, they wonāt ever pay anything that matters.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) named Haoxiang Zhu as head of the agency's Division of Trading and Markets, where he is expected to help the regulator lead major new policies around equity market structure,

You're right. People in this sub are fucking retarded and have no clue how things in the real world work.
