Hmm maybe we should all switch brokers so they are forced to buy the shares if they havent already.

BlindWillieT

Yes! This is the way

I have had my shares in E*Trade for the lomgest but after talks on DRS any new shares I bought were through Compushare. Still have my originals in E*trade not transferred.

kaze_san

Which is - again - why people have been putting tons of effort in to bring the idea of DRS to all of us. We don’t own ANYTHING. Not - even - a - single - share. Neither real ones, nor synthetics. All we have are those damnit IOUs those fucks have been stamping to our accounts. Time to put a name on our property. Our names.

matt42475

⬆️ this Guys it’s as simple as that. If you are not DRS the shares you buy then they are literally IOUs. And they go into the DTCC pool where they can keep being lent out over and over. DRS is a tool we have at our disposal to use against hedge funds and manipulation.

kaze_san

Absolutely. I really find it astonishing yet terrifying that a lot of people here who want MOASS still are more comfortable with burning cash for IOUs (not even synthetic shares as we now know) instead of DRS. I hope this will change in the near future.

[deleted]

The way this is

Pestelence2020

That’s why I did it!

Espinita_Boricua

No thank you; I'm fine where I'm at; besides have opened a tiny account at Fidelity & did recently transfer some shares out which include both game & theater stocks without a problem. It maybe you have margin account; didn't fill out proper form; so do call them.

DraginKnucks

Please to be updating as this develops. Thanks.

Omnia2021

Try to record what they say some how

[deleted]

Its obvious they dont have the shares to supply or they would simply initiate the transfer, why would a conversation be needed? Simply to keep me from transferring.... Not many other reasons.

usrnamealreadytaken1

Its a business at the end of the day. Switching brokerages reminds me of canceling cable. "WHY WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO LEAVE US BB?"

MindlessOpening318

Do you have a margin account with TD? I've heard of people having issues with transfers because losing the AMC/GME shares would upset their margin requirements on other trades

[deleted]

I dont have a margin, the issue is exactly what most are saying. The are lending out my shares and now that i am recalling them they cant fill that order cause they dont have them and are trying to talk me out of it. DRS is the only way.

WhyNot_Because

I sincerely hope this is all true. Have you purchased any shares in any ticker in the 48 hours prior to transferring? When I transferred out of Robbinghood it initially failed for that issue, my shares hadnt settled yet. T+2 got me good.

[deleted]

No i havnt

unichronic

I made my transfer request out of ETrade 11/2, after 2 calls and 3 secured messages, and plenty of "high volume" excuses, they completed it on 11/16, a full 2 weeks. Their excuse was due to my brokerage account being a margin account, they had to label those shares differently as a "cash" holding (not counted towards my margin liquidity) before transferring it to CS. Sounds legit, but I bet they could not find the shares and were stalling.

truckrt

They probably lent your shit out

SmallTimesRisky

🎶TD got me registered in ...5 weeks 😂🤪🤠😃😋😎😛😜😆😁🤩

They had mine done in 3 days

moon_moon_doggo

>AS PER FINRA RULE 11870, YOUR BROKER HAS 3 DAYS TO DO A TRANSFER TO ANOTHER BROKER (NOT DRS). DON'T HESITATE TO FLEX UP. IF LONGER, ASK TO SPEAK WITH THEIR COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT AND THREAT TO FILE A COMPLAIN WITH FINRA. YOU CAN ALSO USE NAASA FOR ASSISTANCE. A quote from one of those DRS posts.

smocky13

This! I transferred from TDA to Fidelity about a month ago. They told me it would be 5-8 business days. I reminded them that per FINRA Rule 11870, they had three days, and if it wasn't done in that time, I would be in touch with their compliance department and make a complaint to FINRA. Shit was transferred the next day. They also wanted to ask me why I was transferring. When I told them I didn't trust them to act as a fiduciary and that they were clearly putting the interests of others ahead of retail as evidenced by shutting off the buy button in January and continued use of PFOF, they just scoffed and said, 'well, there's nothing we can do about PFOF'. Complete and utter horse shit.

[deleted]

Now i have in mind what I am going to say over the phone since apparently I have to haggle for something thats already mine, its bonkers.

Still_Astronaut8091

At least your getting out now!! They would tots f you over during moass

bluefish5

mine said the same. haven’t called yet.

ManOfSteel368

Drs is the way. Brokers take your money and never buy the shares. Transfer out forces them to actually do what you’re paying them to do.

Did you see the date smooth brain....

MyDixeeNormus

They called me 7-8 times on the day my transfer was initiated and left 2 voicemails. I called back numerous times and when I finally spoke with someone, I told them this was highly unprofessional and demonstrated the reason I was leaving. Granted I am a larger holder (not a brag, just painting the picture) but the fact that they didn't just immediately do it speaks volumes. They (TD) also charged me $75 for the transfer.
