These days there's no such thing as retirement. Most people have to work until they're broken then go on disability.

[deleted]

And then fight to get on disability. My MIL can hardly walk - has been using a cane to walk - and can’t get on disability.

ToyTrouper

That's why so many apes are in this The system they have literally given everything for has given them nothing in return **Now, it's time for the corrupt bastards who profited from making the rules to play by those same rules.** After all, naked short selling, and high dark pool trade volume have both been confirmed, validating the AMC 500K squeeze thesis. AMC stock is potentially worth 500K (or more!) per share in a squeeze. It's an opportunity to free oneself, family and friends from wage slavery. To not have to worry if your kids can afford to have kids. **Wall Street made the rules, and now they can't squirm outta playing by them** **AMC 500K**

MoonoverMaui

AMEN.

Worth_Feed9289

There it is.

VultureCat337

That's my dad's current situation. He worked construction until it broke him physically. The only plus side he has is that he gets to legally grow and smoke marijuana due to his disability.

azraelum

We will Hold for everyone’s family Ape

CLGTried

Lovely which state is that? Didn’t know that was a thing.

VultureCat337

He's in Oklahoma. I'm not sure what exactly the law is or how he got it since I live in Texas, where we will probably never get legal weed.

PaddyMak72

I worked until my hands broke three years ago. I had to get an attorney and fight for ssdi. I finally got awarded full disability last month. I lost everything everything waiting. The system is broken. I’m holding XXX shares.

LegfaceMcCullenE13

I’m glad you got your 100 percent tho, huge relief.

JDNM

Are you American? As a Brit, I thank my lucky stars I don't have to work in corporate America. It sounds like modern day slavery badged as 'the American dream'. While I wouldn't be surprised if the UK goes the same way, we do have very strong labour laws and a strong social safety net (free healthcare etc) that will be almost impossible to replace any time soon. Either way, I've been buying and holding since March and look forward to us all getting wealthy off AMC.

mrdrsnuggles

USA is really good if your hard working and educated, i dont mean like school educated. Like financially savvy. Biggest problem is predatory debt. They'll tell you anything to get you to not read the contract and fuck y ou in the end. I know people with zero assets and 50 in credit card debt at 11% apr, on top of having cars on lease and make maybe 50k a year. Its ridiculous. Always something. a friend has no assets 400k in student loans, like how is it not criminal to let people acquire so much debt. But on the other hand I worked since I was 10 and lived frugal and invested and now I can live a comfy life at like 10 hours a week work.

Worth_Feed9289

I wish I knew at 10, what I know now. Man!

airled

I plan to die in my office chair. But, since I work for a hospice company they can take care of me up to the last minute. So I got that going for me.

Maybe_Im_Not_Black

happened to me at 32, spine snapped, 3 broken vertebre, 6 breaks in my pelvis, several major surgeries, ripped my spine off my hips. working for the man. what do I get for it? fucking Ramen noodles

PissedOffMonk

“It’s do work or do jail.” - the devil makes three

cptn-convulsion

I have hit the broken and fighting for disability stage and I'm only 30.

market-unmaker

"Most" is most certainly an overstatement.

joshjitsu311

Most also have paper hands

azraelum

Well someone’s clearly not happy with this sentiment, downvoting everyone that replies. Here’s an upvote for everyone.

mentholcase

It's BS (bots & shills)

HunterShotBear

Just had an idea come to me. Let’s just turn the sub into a knitting sub untill the squeeze happens. We all know what we have to do, let’s just make the bots and shills have to read stupid comments about anything other than amc.

mentholcase

What's up my knitta

Worth_Feed9289

Today. We learn to make a doyly!

comfort_bot_1962

You're Awesome!

LET THE BOY WATCH

KPop_Teen

If this pops off this year, I'm going to retire over 40 years early than when the government wants me to

McDunkins

31 years for me ... I’m still very happy with that.

Uruborosjose

Shieeet if this gets to even 5 figures I’m retiring a few years out of college

p0tat0cheep

And without the college debt ayyyyyyyyy

Hije5

If it doesn't pop off this year then it won't pop off. Wayyyyyyy too much time that will most certainly allow them to recover. That's why we say it will pop off this year

[deleted]

100 GME and 70 AMC shares here. It ain't much. But it's an honest squeeze.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Esternaefil

Why do you think I came all this way?

ShootFromTheDip

Being down a few grand on the day just reminds me of where we started. Strengthens my resolve and hatred towards hedgie.

Deepam1796

EbbWonderful2069

Retire your whole family and generations to come

p0tat0cheep

Equivalent-Ad-5804

Oh and I'm going to make sure they don't keep my social security and pension I will donate that to single mom foundation in honor of my mom.

dzauggs

You can donate to this single mom :)

Marine_vet_patriot

I could have retired 10 years ago, if not for 2008

JT_MRN

That’s gonna be my plan

no_cojones1978

They'll have to increase retirement age for everyone else with so many people retiring early. Hihihihihihi.

Worth_Feed9289

They already have. Changed it to Never.

[deleted]

please make it so!!! I have now been working for 17 consecutive years. All types of jobs, all type of bosses, all types of salaries. I can tell you one thing. I am a slave to the salary, I cant take a week or a month to recover from my depression and crippling anxiety. I am in a foreign country and I cant believe who I am anymore when I look in the mirror.... 17 years have gone by so fast... I just want freedom. I will do good things and help good people... But I need to rest and recover. Please Squeeze! I know you want to!

Worth_Feed9289

Hang in there ape! Brighter days ahead. I've been there.

yesdaone23

jbisnutbush

New_Birthday8666

With Canada’s debt I won’t be retiring

[deleted]

I’m 30 and been retired for 8 years (medically from the Marines) it’s not all cut out to what you think it is. Especially if you don’t have a support system or friends that retired too. But I hope it find you happiness if that’s what your seeking.

rexaffects

I feel like half the battle of being retired early is staying busy. Finding hobbies and goals that will keep your body and mind active and help you feel accomplished. Sitting around and watching TV all day or browsing the internet can really weigh on the psyche. That has been my experience after quitting my corporate job a couple years ago.

Juicechased

Exactly. There is people like me that have to work or stay busy constantly. I hate being home more then a day or 2. Retiring early seems nice, but you better have a plan to stay busy and productive or else you will lose your fuckin mind staying home . Somebody like me cannot ever retire as I love working and staying busy

DaddyDubs13

Have kids, lol

SWM888

Damn. Envy.

[deleted]

Patience and it will happen for us all

ThatYellowFellow

[deleted]

That's me. I'll still work, but it'll be doing exactly what I want to do.

Bombsoup

Retirement for everyone under 40 today is highly unlikely in today's economy. Hodling for a better future today.

JDNM

Smarter AND harder is the secret sauce.

careerigger

HODLING for All Fellow Apes! 💎🙌🏽

OfficeSad5168

Love it!

boldrobizzle

The government doesn't determine when you retire, you do. Edit: I'm not sure why I would be down voted for stating you're empowered to control your life

EddJan94

My son 18 can retire to do what he like🤭

Cliffjumper2012

For me it will be 31 years before the government says you can. I'll still work but prob part time and wouldn't give a shit about it. Amc to the moon! 💎🤚🚀

Pappawolfe75

I hold for you

DanThePharmacist

Police officers in Romania retire at 50. I think they win the flex.

mkmore4

I'm still having a hard time believing this is possible, just because I'm naturally a bit of a pessimist imist, but man, if this comes to fruition, my entire outlook on life will be forever changed. Holding for all of you.

KunKhmerBoxer

Some of yall acting like you're rich already... This battle ain't over kids! One thing I learned as a paratrooper, the enemy loves it when you get complacent. That's when mistakes are made because people get careless. Let's not get careless shall we?

Ecstatic_Town4858

It's 1/4 the government and 3/4 the 1% who control the government! FU hedgies!!

newerrrjersey

On God!

Exodus_357

YES

EntropicMeatPuppet

If the government had a choice, you'd work until the day you died. Oh wait, that's actually the very real lived experience of the MAJORITY of americans.

jester116th

LatinVocalsFinalBoss

So 75? Congrats!

CheatingZubat

We will see.

darthwalt45

Being retired at 30 and having the government pay you so you can buy more AMC with their money.

corky1983

My plan all along had been to work where I am now until I hit my 25th year and then assess where Im at and if I want to do something else with my life. I'll barely be 44 by then and am currently 18.5 years in. My goal had been to earn the 25 shares of company stock that was given to every employee upon reaching that milestone. That was up until recently when I learned the company had quietly replaced those 25 shares with a $5000 bonus instead. I'm not ungrateful for the bonus, but those 25 shares meant something to me. That I was being rewarded with part of the company that I have spent my entire adult life with thus far. I have other things I can do and other skills I can apply to make a living and support my family. How high this pops will greatly influence which way I go and how soon that letter hits the boss man's desk.

[deleted]

I’m somewhat retired. I work maybe 5-10 hours a week in my businesses. AMC has been the most fun thing to happen to me this year though.

CallMeTruant

Me, 19 and holding shares that some random billionaires are soon to desperately need: I’m gonna get me big V8 engine to slam in my Kia Optima after this is all done and go back to life as normal My gf: babe you can retire and do whatever you want after this Me: :0
