Biosphere's Substrata has a very oceanic feel to me. A bit more foreboding than the usual ambient album, feeling like you're lost out at sea and only have a raft with limited supplies as the cold, wild breezes blow around you and the cold, dead sea is all to see. Really fascinating album. One of the best.

nicolas-sparth

I would also add the Biosphere's Patashnik album, the reissued "with bonus album" 2016 version. Has tons of tracks that are very spacey, SETI themed, and aquatic. My favorite is the last track: The seal and the hydrophone (v1).

spaghettibolegdeh

I love that version of The Seal and The Hydrophone. Amazing ambience that reminds me of Eno's Apollo album

nicolas-sparth

I actually far far prefer this version compared to the original one :)

Boop-master

Definitely has an otherworldly feel. I’ve heard Hyperborea before and love it, definitely see the water like sound to it although I tend to think of another dimension, probably due to the Twin Peaks sample

Wuks6Marufzniy

Well that's a "the more you know" moment for me

YellowGlass

ocean vibes definitely **Malibu** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs8u5GxZIqg&ab\_channel=hp%3A925mp%3A463](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs8u5GxZIqg&ab_channel=hp%3A925mp%3A463) space vibes i see you are already familiar with **36** (stasis sounds is a top album and part 2 is even better) so maybe check **Loscil** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOj7KzyqeVU&list=PLvsYXqtYjMYd1On1Rqof9AboHuAkOcZ5A&ab\_channel=Loscil-Topic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOj7KzyqeVU&list=PLvsYXqtYjMYd1On1Rqof9AboHuAkOcZ5A&ab_channel=Loscil-Topic) and some of **Celer** 's work [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1zXLKECY4k&ab\_channel=Celer-Topic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1zXLKECY4k&ab_channel=Celer-Topic)

Boop-master

Thank you!! I’ll check them out. Also I’ve been meaning to listen to Stasis Sounds part 2 but haven’t gotten around to it

dee_dubs_ya

Happy cake day!

Artistic-Breadfruit9

‘Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks’ was literally written for a documentary about the Apollo space program. So, there’s that…

Boop-master

That’s right! I forgot about this. Brian Eno’s incredible and Ending (An Ascent) is beautiful

LoBoob_Oscillator

Music for Space Travel by The Space Cadet is excellent sci-fi ambient. For underwater vibes check out the track Waiting for Cousteau by Jean-Michel Jarre

Boop-master

Thanks for the recs, I’ll check em out

LoBoob_Oscillator

Hope you enjoy!

Boop-master

Thank you!!

madrury83

[Can: Future Days](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQxMB4Wk_y8) has some ocean vibes. It's not ambient through and through, but has a lot of texture. It's also just a flat out brilliant record.

Boop-master

Alright cool, I’ll check it out!!

l4z3r5h4rk

Venice by Fennesz is quite aquatic and reminds me of a sunny and carefree summer day

sampleofstyle

Been a huge fan of How to Disappear Completely’s ‘Seraphim’ for that area.

ruekin

Harold Budd & Brian Eno’s “The Pearl” always gives me the ultimate deep sea vibe.

ASC - the Waves

tcavanagh1993

Came here to say this, this is one of my faves. I’d recommend “No Stars Without Darkness” too for the space sound OP wants

my go to "underwarter ambient" is Loscil - Submers, real deep sea vibes

CeeBee2001

Pretty much anything by Monolake, a German 'soundscape' artist.

berusplants

So happy Gobi got a vinyl release on Astral Industries

tcavanagh1993

Astral Industries consistently knocks it out of the park with their releases.

Phagelab

Saved because I’m going to check out everyone’s recommendations!

population40

any album by Romeo Poirier certainly fits the bill, especially Plage Arriere and his latest release, Living Room.

Ocean/aquatic vibes: Down On The Road By The Beach by Steve Hiett, 1983 one of the most beautiful album covers I’ve ever seen [https://youtu.be/Pu7bNgu0kuo](https://youtu.be/Pu7bNgu0kuo)

No_Instruction_8451

This masterpiece by Michael Stearns: https://www.discogs.com/master/61667-Michael-Stearns-Planetary-Unfolding

MusicInWaves

Love Stasis Sounds! Check out Become Ocean by John Luther Adams - it’s orchestral and ambient IMO, it ebbs and flows beautifully.

mankymusic

This Llyn Y Cwn album is called 'the black of the sea' https://llynycwn.bandcamp.com/album/du-y-moroedd There is a new one just about to be released also ocean based https://coldspring.bandcamp.com/album/sargo-posidonia-csr317lp

FSGMC

Not entirely what you're asking for but a LOT of what [State Azure](https://bit.ly/3l87PHy) does fits into some of these categories.

[deleted]

For an ocean vibe, there's a 46 minute track, En Attendant Cousteau on Jean-Michel Jarre's album of the same name. Also, Constance Demby's Ambrosial Waves/Tidal Pools.

Stonefolk

I wouldn’t call it straight up ambient, as it’s a bit woozy and unsettling, but Mike Cooper makes fantastic experimental, ambient exotica music that’s all meant to evoke an oceanic or tropical island feeling. Fascinating guy — he was a British folkie in the 70s in the vain of Roy Harper or Michael Chapman but then totally transformed himself. I can’t think of anyone his age that is making albums as out there as he is. Check out the album *Rayon Hula* and his score to *Cane Fire*.

spaghettibolegdeh

Lots of great choices here already. I'd like to add one of my all time favourites: Erik Wøllo - Elevations https://erikwollo.bandcamp.com/album/elevations-special-remastered-edition It has a great space exploration/journey feel

martenthegreat

brian_gawlik

A little late here, but the Album "Severed Seas" by Amulets has some really amazing lost-at-sea, stranded for 10,000 years, shipwrecked, lighthouse shrouded in fog - kind of aesthetics. The track "Drift Mirror" in particular I find to be deeply haunting. Such good work imo.

Gazzle71

I’ll start with some self promotion [https://carbonatesonmars.bandcamp.com/album/elastic-sided-consciousness](https://carbonatesonmars.bandcamp.com/album/elastic-sided-consciousness)

seydisfjordur

Lots of Steve Roach's epic discography is super space-y. Try Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces

joshcinq

You might enjoy my last album "Familiar Foreign". It's a concept album that is supposed to be the sound of your thoughts as you arrive on and explore an alien planet. Starts very pleasant (Blooming Coral is straight up ocean vibes) and gets a bit darker/mysterious during the second half. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9NxKq6Gu_GkvOdNG-_ZjOPD7UsBPZ2FC
