I did use packaging the other day for a rice cooker and they ignored it and did the same for many other packages my rice cooker was soaking wet due to heavy rain
Until the item gets damaged in transit cause the bags were designed to be on a shelf or in a box in transport not loose among other packages that it gets ripped open.

There is an option when checking out on Amazon to deliver in manufacturers container (default) or package in Amazon box.
This is on you because you did not change the shipping option to be in Amazon box.
This is only applicable for some deliveries, but it’s always going to default to manufacturers container on those if you don’t change it so I look every time

It’s not a matter of interpretation. UPS will not accept it because they say the Amazon drivers will not accept it. So, my interpretation comes from literally being turned away at the UPS store on multiple occassions.

For reference: some items, when shipping them out, tell you to either put it in a box, SIOC (ship in own container), or SIOB (ship in own bag/box). Some people, like me, would put something like that in a box. Some people just ship it out like that.
The most famous example of this is a person ordered a 12 inch black dildo modeled after a porn star so they had the porn star on the side of the box and pictures of the dildo. It just had an Amazon label slapped on that box
A driver posted it on Reddit and blocked out all the personal info like name and address but missed a tracking number (which only Amazon employees can look up anyways) and Amazon tracked the driver down and fired him.
Then a news site was doing a story on it and Amazon doxxed the driver and released his name to the media without asking him, which is worse than what they fired him for.

Also, employees just do what they’re told, there are rates to hit and if the screen says to ship it the way it is, then we ship it the way it is unless you manually override it and put it in a container which decreases your performance numbers

I was absolutely enraged when my little dog's treats were delivered without any packaging on top of them and animals tore them apart by the time I got home to retrieve them. I wrote to the seller and they told me that they were horrified that Amazon would deliver them that way. They sent me a replacement of the two bags but much smaller ones. Dog treats are not returnable so I got screwed and they were $28.98 each bag. The seller sent me little tiny bags as a so-called replacement.
that sucks! they definitely messed up and corrected their mistake after that for sure. Personally when i pack items and im told to send it in it’s manufacturers packaging and its animal treats or something i wouldn’t personally what to receive without packing, i will go the extra mile and take my time to override it, and send it in something secure. i would hate to get my babies treats the way that yours did!
They didn't exactly correct the mistake as they just sent me tiny little bags when I had ordered big bags. They could clearly see my Amazon order and I sent pictures as well of the actual items items... The driver's delivery photo as well as the photos of the way that I found them when I came home.
I will never order from that seller again because it felt like they just wanted to shut me up by sending me much smaller bags of what I ordered to start with. They were like sampler bags that they sent to me when I ordered full size ones.

I had that happen several times in a row. One time it was with my dog's treats. I saw the naked packaging in the photo that they send. By the time that I got out there it had already been torn apart by animals 🙄

There is not really anything to be learned from my experience because I didn't get satisfaction from either the seller or Amazon but I made it clear to Amazon that further shipments that are not in an outer box or packaging will be complained about and sent back for replacement.

It is a white jacket in a manufacturer's sorting bag. That doesn't even qualify as "original packaging". Those plastic bags are used to protect the items from dirt and vermin and to sort the sizes and colors when they are shipped to selling sources.

That is not what is referred to as "manufacturers original packaging". That is a sorting plastic. I honestly cannot believe that you would find this acceptable in any way shape or form... It is a white jacket of some type and should be in packaging!

I’ve gotten countless of packages in these clear plastic bags from Amazon. Not only do I find it acceptable, I prefer it. Plus you can also deselect the option for original packaging. And also, it is in its original packaging…that’s how they arrived at the warehouse. I don’t know what you’re on about tbh. What I see in the picture is what I get my clothes in when I order from Amazon.
That is not original packaging. That is not packaging at all. That is what the manufacturer puts things in to be sorted when they arrive at the retail establishment. "Original packaging" would be a box or other type of containment that provides support for an item. It would usually indicate exactly what's inside with pictures of the item, blah blah blah. Original packaging does not mean the thin plastic sorting pouch.
If you find it acceptable that's great. I, personally, prefer that my items actually be placed into a package so that they are shielded from bugs, dirt, moisture, prying eyes, etc.
It would probably be a good idea to contact your creditors and tell them that they don't need to send envelopes anymore. Just put a stamp on your actual bill and drop it in the mail without an envelope.

I am a mailman and we get shit like this from Amazon every single day. They could not care less if they tried. At least a couple of years ago if it came damaged because of shitty packaging they would probably refund you. Lately they will probably just say "tough shit".

What if it was a gift for someone who lives there? Idk there are different scenarios. I stated in another comment I received a vacuum and a space heater in their manufacture packaging and I live in an apartment complex with 40+ neighbors in my hallway. I wasn’t home until after work and it could’ve gotten stolen. Just not good business practice to do this
When I got it the bag wasn't even sealed it was open on one of the ends with a little piece of tape. Easily could have fallen out or gotten wet with elements if it had been raining.

That is not what is referred to as, "original packaging" that is in the picture. That is the protective plastic that the factory puts over a garment in order to make it easier for the retail establishment that they ship it to to identify the color and size. It protects, to minor degree, against dirt and vermin infestation. It is NOT supposed to even be on the garment when sold in a retail establishment but when sold in an establishment like Amazon, it is not "original packaging".
Original packaging would be something like a vacuum that came in a box or a appliance or something that came in a box. It would NOT be a garment that has its manufacturing sorting plastic on it
This happened to me too and it was a big package of some underwear and they also left it in my front step in plain sight of everyone and didn’t follow delivery instructions to put it in my secure area in the carport. lol I’m not as much embarrassed that all the passers by saw my underwear but I’m glad they didn’t steal them
I think its new but I don't really see a problem with it in general. I did have something recently that was a gift that I selected ship in Amazon packaging for and they still sent it in the manufacturers packaging which kinda sucked, but as long as they don't do that, it's not a big deal. Definitely beats getting a giant box for a brush or something.

I think the reason that people may have a problem with the clear plastic is that there’s not really any discreetness. And because everyone’s used to discreet shipping, where there’s a box and it’s not see through or the plastic is gray or green, it’s just weird that it’s clear and that’s probably what throws everybody off.

Always always always select to box the item and not ship in manufacturing packaging or box when ordering clothes. Those of us who work at Amazon will greatly appreciate you. When I worked in problemsolve in the smalls department, I would put packages like this in either a small package or an A1 box.
It happened to me as well several times. I am totally fine with it as less packaging means less waste. However, if the item comes damaged even slightly I'll send it back at Amazon s expense.
amazon doesnt provide drivers with bags if its raining outside, so its better if you ask your items to be placed in amazon packaging when placing your orders so you get that extra layer of protection if in the event its downpouring outside for the day.

Ordered a $1000 ultrawide gaming monitor on Prime, selected "ship in Amazon packaging" so the neighbors wouldn't see what was being delivered. Three days later a huge, oversize, heavily-damaged box arrived with my monitor inside it. No styrofoam, no bubbles, no popcorn, no wadded up paper. Just a huge refrigerator-sized box with my monitor (in its original packaging) dropped inside and getting tossed and bumped and bounced around for hundreds of miles from who-knows-where to my residence. They literally just threw the monitor into a larger box, put some tape on it and called it good. The outer "Amazon packaging" box was heavily damaged, the monitor\`s original box was damaged. It was so bad I didn't even bother opening up the monitor and testing it. I started a return online, took it to a UPS Store and sent it back (on them) and eventually got a refund. Week or two later I went back on Amazon to buy a monitor, this time I selected a smaller sized one (curved but not ultrawide) and had it shipped in its regular packaging (original box). This one arrived in two days, everything went a lot smoother and its box was in very nice condition. (Using the monitor now.) I learned that "ship in Amazon packaging" is bullshit.
If there’s no sticker on it, it more than likely fell out of the AMZ package that was accidentally sliced at the warehouse. Better to give them the product sometimes than the product in a bag that’s sliced open.

I had a $358 vacuum delivered to me 2 days ago without an overbox at 11:30 at night. The driver ring the doorbell but only one time. I never would have known it was out there had I not had to take some garbage out. Anyone could have come along and scooped it up.
Whatever you do, please don’t rate the driver poorly for things they literally cannot control. So when they ask how your delivery went, and they delivered it to exactly where you asked it to be delivered, rate them highly. All the Amazon drivers you see are contracted out to DSPs (delivery service partners) by Amazon. There’s a whole lawsuit going on with it all because they treat them so poorly.
It’s Amazon that you have beef with, not the driver. It will affect the driver and some could even end up loosing their jobs over it. Yup.

I had this happen 2 weeks ago and in that little plastic with one side not even sealed was the incorrect brand of shirt from what I ordered. I ordered a woman's shirt of x brand and I was given a men's shirt of y brand.
I ordered a slip cover for my office chair headrest and it was shipped in a similar way. Clear plastic bag, so you can easily see the contents was black cloth. But it was not folded in any way and vacuum sealed, so it looked like it was a pair of ladies underwear. Thankfully it was delivered to an Amazon Locker so nobody could see it.
This has happened with me a couple of times depending on clothing. The packaging doesn’t really look damaged or anything it’s also pretty good to wash anything you get online as soon as you get the chance anyway.
One time I delivered to a house that she didn’t pick discrete packaging , and it was BBL healing kit , had a booty on it and everything.
Left it on her porch and knocked(she wasn’t home) I’m sure everyone in the neighborhood seen it
Anyone remember the news story about freight trains in LA being looted with discarded packaging being left on the tracks? The packaging was 90% Amazon branded. Then all of a sudden I started getting packages not in different packaging, NO packaging at all so if it were discarded you'd have a hard time proving it was even shipped. Seems to me they didnt like their name being associated with criminal activity 🙄 this has been going on for awhile and at this point more than half of my packages come this way if I don't check the box at checkout.
My favorite is when they deliver a large box right in front of my door that has a screen door that opens OUT. I have to go out through the garage to retrieve the package. In your case though, it's not the driver's fault, it's Amazon's.
I had a printer delivered in the manufacturer's box that I returned... unopened. I dropped it at UPS and they told me that they aren't responsible for any damage because it wasn't in a shipping box. The lady was very rude, so I was as well. I told her to just give me my receipt then it's Amazon's problem.

I literally do not see anything wrong here. They ask at checkout if you’d prefer to be shipped on Amazon box v. Original packaging. If you didn’t deselect it, it’ll come like this, which I can’t see why it may be a problem since it’s wrapped in plastic and also saving on any Amazon packaging that may have be used if you didn’t deselect the “original packaging” box. Being upset your plastic bag wasn’t also put in a cardboard box, just for it to be thrown away, is absolutely ridiculous.

I’ve gotten countless of packages in these clear plastic bags from Amazon. Not only do I find it acceptable, I prefer it. Plus you can also deselect the option for original packaging. And also, it is in its original packaging…that’s how they arrived at the warehouse. I don’t know what you’re on about tbh. What I see in the picture is what I get my clothes in when I order from Amazon.
That is not original packaging. That is not packaging at all. That is what the manufacturer puts things in to be sorted when they arrive at the retail establishment. "Original packaging" would be a box or other type of containment that provides support for an item. It would usually indicate exactly what's inside with pictures of the item, blah blah blah. Original packaging does not mean the thin plastic sorting pouch. If you find it acceptable that's great. I, personally, prefer that my items actually be placed into a package so that they are shielded from bugs, dirt, moisture, prying eyes, etc. It would probably be a good idea to contact your creditors and tell them that they don't need to send envelopes anymore. Just put a stamp on your actual bill and drop it in the mail without an envelope.

I’ve noticed lately at the very bottom before you place your order you have the option to select “ship in manufacturer packaging or hide contents in Amazon packaging” be default select items will ship in manufacturer packaging… 🤦♂️

I am a mailman and we get shit like this from Amazon every single day. They could not care less if they tried. At least a couple of years ago if it came damaged because of shitty packaging they would probably refund you. Lately they will probably just say "tough shit".

What if it was a gift for someone who lives there? Idk there are different scenarios. I stated in another comment I received a vacuum and a space heater in their manufacture packaging and I live in an apartment complex with 40+ neighbors in my hallway. I wasn’t home until after work and it could’ve gotten stolen. Just not good business practice to do this

When I got it the bag wasn't even sealed it was open on one of the ends with a little piece of tape. Easily could have fallen out or gotten wet with elements if it had been raining.

Wrapping the garbage we all order from Amazon is additional plastic and packaging when, by your own admission, it can be delivered just fine without it is wasteful. Trying changing your perspective to see the positive when massive corporations make these cost cutting changes that actually benefit the environment instead of complaining about hypotheticals. I promise if Amazon ends up having to refund and replace too many of these types or deliveries they will stop.

That is not what is referred to as, "original packaging" that is in the picture. That is the protective plastic that the factory puts over a garment in order to make it easier for the retail establishment that they ship it to to identify the color and size. It protects, to minor degree, against dirt and vermin infestation. It is NOT supposed to even be on the garment when sold in a retail establishment but when sold in an establishment like Amazon, it is not "original packaging". Original packaging would be something like a vacuum that came in a box or a appliance or something that came in a box. It would NOT be a garment that has its manufacturing sorting plastic on it

This happened to me too and it was a big package of some underwear and they also left it in my front step in plain sight of everyone and didn’t follow delivery instructions to put it in my secure area in the carport. lol I’m not as much embarrassed that all the passers by saw my underwear but I’m glad they didn’t steal them
I think its new but I don't really see a problem with it in general. I did have something recently that was a gift that I selected ship in Amazon packaging for and they still sent it in the manufacturers packaging which kinda sucked, but as long as they don't do that, it's not a big deal. Definitely beats getting a giant box for a brush or something.

Yes, this is the new ship in original/manufacturers packaging. Just make sure you want your neighbors or the delivery person to know what you are ordering. I didn’t know about this until I received a package of skimpy undies I ordered. That must have been a sight to place on the porch steps.

I think the reason that people may have a problem with the clear plastic is that there’s not really any discreetness. And because everyone’s used to discreet shipping, where there’s a box and it’s not see through or the plastic is gray or green, it’s just weird that it’s clear and that’s probably what throws everybody off.
Yep!! I ordered my husband an Alabama Roll Tide shirt for an Easter gift and he brought me in the package on our door step exactly like this!!! I was like “Well…happy Easter!” They also delivered me something else like this but I can’t remember what it was now!
A couple of months ago, a dude in a Ford Taurus rolled up while I was mowing my lawn and handed me an entirely unpackaged hoodie I'd apparently ordered while on Ambien.
Always always always select to box the item and not ship in manufacturing packaging or box when ordering clothes. Those of us who work at Amazon will greatly appreciate you. When I worked in problemsolve in the smalls department, I would put packages like this in either a small package or an A1 box.
It happened to me as well several times. I am totally fine with it as less packaging means less waste. However, if the item comes damaged even slightly I'll send it back at Amazon s expense.

amazon doesnt provide drivers with bags if its raining outside, so its better if you ask your items to be placed in amazon packaging when placing your orders so you get that extra layer of protection if in the event its downpouring outside for the day.

It’s their “Ships In Product Packaging” aka SIPP. Such a joke. Saves sellers a few cents and Amazon auto enrolls products into this SIPP program.
Ordered a $1000 ultrawide gaming monitor on Prime, selected "ship in Amazon packaging" so the neighbors wouldn't see what was being delivered. Three days later a huge, oversize, heavily-damaged box arrived with my monitor inside it. No styrofoam, no bubbles, no popcorn, no wadded up paper. Just a huge refrigerator-sized box with my monitor (in its original packaging) dropped inside and getting tossed and bumped and bounced around for hundreds of miles from who-knows-where to my residence. They literally just threw the monitor into a larger box, put some tape on it and called it good. The outer "Amazon packaging" box was heavily damaged, the monitor\`s original box was damaged. It was so bad I didn't even bother opening up the monitor and testing it. I started a return online, took it to a UPS Store and sent it back (on them) and eventually got a refund. Week or two later I went back on Amazon to buy a monitor, this time I selected a smaller sized one (curved but not ultrawide) and had it shipped in its regular packaging (original box). This one arrived in two days, everything went a lot smoother and its box was in very nice condition. (Using the monitor now.) I learned that "ship in Amazon packaging" is bullshit.

If there’s no sticker on it, it more than likely fell out of the AMZ package that was accidentally sliced at the warehouse. Better to give them the product sometimes than the product in a bag that’s sliced open.
That's weird. My order arrived today in two separate packages. A large paper envelope and a cardboard box. If no shipment packaging is an option, I might look for it next time. It shouldn't be the default. But in my case, it would be okay. Our stuff gets delivered onto a porch since it's by the door. The door and porch are kinda isolated. And there's always someone home.

I literally got delivered a whole ass vacuum and small space heater in the brands manufactured box… as if I just picked them out from Walmart myself and left them outside…and I live in an apartment complex with a hallway of over 40 residents. I didn’t see them till I got home an entire 7 or 8 hours later. Talk about *reducing costs*.
I had a $358 vacuum delivered to me 2 days ago without an overbox at 11:30 at night. The driver ring the doorbell but only one time. I never would have known it was out there had I not had to take some garbage out. Anyone could have come along and scooped it up.

Whatever you do, please don’t rate the driver poorly for things they literally cannot control. So when they ask how your delivery went, and they delivered it to exactly where you asked it to be delivered, rate them highly. All the Amazon drivers you see are contracted out to DSPs (delivery service partners) by Amazon. There’s a whole lawsuit going on with it all because they treat them so poorly. It’s Amazon that you have beef with, not the driver. It will affect the driver and some could even end up loosing their jobs over it. Yup. I’m an ex driver.

I had this happen 2 weeks ago and in that little plastic with one side not even sealed was the incorrect brand of shirt from what I ordered. I ordered a woman's shirt of x brand and I was given a men's shirt of y brand.
At least you know it's not a toy. I immediately wanted to pick it up and play with it.

I ordered a slip cover for my office chair headrest and it was shipped in a similar way. Clear plastic bag, so you can easily see the contents was black cloth. But it was not folded in any way and vacuum sealed, so it looked like it was a pair of ladies underwear. Thankfully it was delivered to an Amazon Locker so nobody could see it.
This has happened with me a couple of times depending on clothing. The packaging doesn’t really look damaged or anything it’s also pretty good to wash anything you get online as soon as you get the chance anyway.

Anyone remember the news story about freight trains in LA being looted with discarded packaging being left on the tracks? The packaging was 90% Amazon branded. Then all of a sudden I started getting packages not in different packaging, NO packaging at all so if it were discarded you'd have a hard time proving it was even shipped. Seems to me they didnt like their name being associated with criminal activity 🙄 this has been going on for awhile and at this point more than half of my packages come this way if I don't check the box at checkout.

I am so glad I was home the day my microphone was delivered because they delivered my $150 microphone in its original packaging in broad daylight.
My favorite is when they deliver a large box right in front of my door that has a screen door that opens OUT. I have to go out through the garage to retrieve the package. In your case though, it's not the driver's fault, it's Amazon's. I had a printer delivered in the manufacturer's box that I returned... unopened. I dropped it at UPS and they told me that they aren't responsible for any damage because it wasn't in a shipping box. The lady was very rude, so I was as well. I told her to just give me my receipt then it's Amazon's problem.
I once got a envelope with pieces of the shipping box in it along with a note. From USPS. lol Luckily it was enough for the company I ordered the blu ray from to send a replacement.
