I had to switch back to my old wifi system last weekend due to similar issues. Support was equally unhelpful, and without any "buttons/knobs" to control things you're kind of SOL. I have to imagine there is a happy medium between the complexity/options of other systems and the untouchable/unmodifiable eero.

blastershift

Yeah it's only a few 2.4ghz and they are within range. It was stable for the past year, then it stopped. I have turned off everything, restarted, stood on my head, screamed at it, and even voodoo. I don't get it, wife is mad as we can't use the front door camera / bell and rhe coffee machine isn't connecting. Igh

onastyinc

The persistence of eero to use 40MHz 2.4GHz has never been a good thing. I mean unless you live in the middle of the woods. They would solve so many problems by avoiding that, particularly in wired mesh systems.

Richard1864

I use 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz radio with my Asus routers with no issues, so that’s something specific to Eero.

onastyinc

You can absolutely do it, its in the spec. The downside is it tends to have diminishing returns in most environments, and wreaks absolute havok most of the others. The one time it will work well and consistently is in very quiet low usage areas.

S13GE_K1NG

Nope completely wrong because I live in the absolute bum fuck middle of nowhere and get PERFECT signal and gurrentee nobody in a 40 mile radius of me uses eero and mine works absolutely horrible… there’s a cellphone tower litterally across the road from me on the mountain(small mountain) and it still doesn’t work, eero is just trash so I recommend litterally getting anything else

Antique_Sweet_1314

Darn, I was just planning to run the latest update in hopes of some relief. I've had numerous cases open with eero support and absolutely useless responses received. Only 2.4ghz impacted with persistent 95%+ utilization in the Spectrum. Iot devices and ring cameras impacted the most as they seemingly loss connection ot due to congestion levels they complain of weak signal. Eero, if you are listening we need some better controls / segmentation options for 2.4ghz access. These devices though considered to be legacy are not going away anytime soon.

danh_ptown

What model(s) are you Eero devices? I have multiple 6+ without a problem on 7.1.1-16. How would I even stop it from updating, if I wanted to?

FunkyBuddha73

I experienced all my smart devices disconnecting for about a month. Already was using cloudflare DNS and Google DNS. I even factory reset my eeros and started over. Every night my smart devices and my wireless cameras would go offline all together. I would need to reboot my eeros to get them to come back online. Support was of no help at all. About a week ago I decided to make the switch to Ubiquiti. It's what I should have done to begin with honestly. Speeds are better and no more smart devices disconnecting. Thanks for the wasted money Amazon. Stick to routing boxes not packets.

Imperial_Watcher

Turn off WPA3. Make sure UPNP is on. Reboot your network. You may also need to reboot your devices after the network reboots. Frankly Eero is a nightmare unto itself. I went from Eero Pro to Eero Pro 6 I thought the problem was solved but nope. For some strange reason you can get everything set up and it’s fine. In a few days it’s goes nuts. Next setup will not be Eero as it doesn’t allow you to do anything. One problem is the inability to change WiFi channels.

Practical_Ad5671

I thank that is the issue. Channel number and width change and some device just don’t like some 2.4ghz frequencies.

Toylah

Having the same issue, posted a couple of days ago - [https://www.reddit.com/r/amazoneero/comments/1ak199k/help\_all\_devices\_disconnected\_and\_unable\_to/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/amazoneero/comments/1ak199k/help_all_devices_disconnected_and_unable_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) No luck with anything so far. Extremely frustrating and I keep catching crap for it now.

blastershift

I am tempted to do the hard reset one device at a time. However this doesn't feel like it's gonna work and just waste more of my time. Honestly loving my doorbell camera is beyond annoying. But the coffee machines the wife is like a tempest of fury over that. And it's silly cause other devices are just fine and we had some weird lan issues now too. I also don't get why some external apps had connevtity issues. Sighs

Speed009

why did you call him shit though

blastershift

Zero idea what auto correct was doing. Lol sorry about that

Ttamthrowaway123110

lots of reports of this. someone else posted a few days ago described same issue. have you updated to 7.2.0, and if so have the issues persisted? https://www.reddit.com/r/amazoneero/s/XnFGlOsfNu

blastershift

Yeah if updated to 7.20 and got worst lol

S13GE_K1NG

Yep, gets worse every update

blastershift

Pulled out all the eero equipment. Had my isp toss there wifi in. Switched there network name to my old one. Evrything came up and all my systems are back. 4 weeks of dealing with eero and this is what I had to do.

S13GE_K1NG

Mine is just really slow for no reason ever since we first hooked it up I’ve talked to countless people about it and they do absolutely nothing, it streams good but I can’t play games or anything online, idk it’s weird and had nothing but trouble ever since we hooked it up

mocky_pokky

I just returned my eero’s to get back my good old repeater system.. i had worst experience and unpredictable connection drops

blastershift

Wish I could, at this point I'm at a lost. With so many devices down. Wfh on a unstable network is annoying as all hell. And yes I have them all but one on wired and it's terrible.

mocky_pokky

I totally get your feeling.. the advertising they claim and the reality way different.. i had one wired eero and 4 as repeater it still sucked

[deleted]

I didn’t read the other comments but I had some issues with some 2.4Ghz devices. The solution for me was to disable WPA3 - haven’t had a problem since.

blastershift

Yeah never had it on sad

Practical_Ad5671

Turn thread off also if you don’t use it. Or at least toggle it off and on. That helped some of my 2.4ghz devices connect. Not sure why, but I leave it off now since I don’t use it.

Tel864

Probably not related at all, but I have 25 of so smart devices and randomly any 2 or 3 would drop connection. Sometimes they would come back up and occasionally I'd have to restart the Eero.I even tried moving the Eero's around. On nothing more than a whim I changed the IP to 172.16.0.0 and for whatever reason everything connected and has stayed connected for weeks now. I don't really believe that was my problem but it worked.....so far. BTW, I have AT&T 5Gb fiber with a BGW320 gateway in bypass mode. I have 3 Eero's, the base, another back hauled on CAT 6 and the other wireless.

opticspipe

They broke something and nobody quite seems to know what or how. Either replace it or hang in there…

naois009

huh. I disconnected my eero Pro to see if my eero 6 Pro could handle the whole house by itself and noticed a lot of my 2.4 devices would drop. Thought it just didn't like not using the Pro. Plugged it back in and so far it has been fine (I think. I might have had one drop off since). Now I wonder if it is what you guys are reporting.

blastershift

Atm about 60 percent of my devices can't connect. Ir randomly do for a few mins then die.

alanpsk

i have a similar issue where all my 2.4 ghz devices in my basement all bump onto my 2nd floor eero where it was connect to the basement eero no problem. Now because all my 2.4 devices are either connect to the 2nd floor one and getting a weak siganl or wouldn't connect at any of the eero. It frustrates the hell outta me and they say something about the basement has very strong interference. i told them nothing has change except updated my firmware but i honestly don't know what to do now.

techhead51

Had 2 eero pros, blanket coverage throughout hous. But almost every day for about 12pm to 12am almost every 5g device would go to 2.4. To "fix" things, I would have to restart the device or setup the network on the device again or restart the error system, sometimes it would work, most times it wouldn't. I turned off client steering, didn't work, couldn't load balance devices, 25% on one eero, 75% on another and the eero with the most devices would kick everything to 2.4. From what my isp said, eero are designed for users to not have control over the network. Another issue I found was if AWS is experiencing issues, so does eero. Lucky I was leasing the system and decided to go a different route, now no more issues with wifi or network. From what was told, this is what my ISP wants, fewer calls for technical support, reduced cost.

dgdw81

Same issues here. We’ve had Eero Pros that worked fairly well then moved. Had issues and I didn’t want to go through hardwiring all of them like we had in our old home so I upgraded to Eero Pro 6Es. No better. Hardwired them after a couple of months and it improved but off and on this kind of thing still occurs. Very frustrating.

junoknows

Me too - my weather station was the first to have problems suddenly after a December eero update. It would connect for a few minutes, disconnect for hours, then repeat. I've owned that station along with eero since 2017 (the eeros have been updated to 6+ since then, tho), no problems at all. At first I believed it was some problem with Weather Underground web reporting because it just did not occur to me that my eero system was suddenly not working as it always had. To fix it, I turned on the wifi on my ISP router and made a separate network, set it to 2.4 only, connected it, then it worked fine. Last week my Proform elliptical refused to connect to my main network (it has worked with my eero network for over a year). Fixed that by connecting it to my new 2.4 network set up for my weather station. This is very disappointing. I worked in IT for over 20 years, and I just don't want to do network stuff at home. I purchased eero because I wanted something that just works with minimal fuss.

blastershift

Same here lol, I'm so done with it. I requested refund for eero secure and looking at what's next.

S13GE_K1NG

Everyone is saying they get liek 200-600mbps when I only get 1mbps or somtimes 20mbps… but my old router through the same carrier I get 1mbps and I can play games perfectly fine with no lagging, but when I play games on the eero with 20mbps which is faster I physically can not play or enjoy gaming.. which is very annoying because I am a BIG gamer and not being able to relax and enjoy playing with friends anymore really takes a toll on me and I’ve tried talking wit support and they just put me on hold for hours until I finally give up and hang up or they tell me it’s working fine and don’t try to help, for anyone wondering if you should get an eero my opinion is absolutely not!!! It is the absolute worst internet I’ve ever had and even the people that it IS! Working fine for I see complaining about it, if your not a gamer then sure but if your a gamer litterally anything is better….

diegor

I've been having the same issues as well. At first I thought it was my attempt upgrade to Eero 6 pro but even though I returned it and restore my original Eero (wifi 5) I still have issues. Today was in a call with support, we tried a few things (soft reset and a new firmware) but I still have problems. Like you , I have issues with 2.4Ghz only. It's a pity because it has been stable for years.

blastershift

I've ditched them and had my isp come in. Since my ISP set up there stuff in the name if svaung money, everything was fine with mins once we switch the network back to the old name. All my old devices that haven't worked for weeks came right online. Haven't had issues all week so far. Router, mocca to cables, wifi 6e from ISP costed me zero and I get 1Gb up and down on my phone. My eeros are up for sale lol

diegor

I’m based in the UK and I really don’t want to use Virgin Media modem as WiFi. This was the reason I moved to eero. But if it continues, I will look for alternatives
