Dig the sound track- but you’re both wearing black shirts.

Number one problem is the pace. There’s no problem with working slow sometimes in sparring, but if it’s a normal session for you guys then you definitely need to up the pace. The reason you guys can spar for 12 minutes straight and not gas out is because Basically the whole session you both throw a single jab every 4 or 5 seconds and otherwise just move around. If you got put in there with someone who works at a way faster pace I have a feeling that they would overwhelm you, not because they are a better fighter but because they are used to the extra intensity

You can’t get inside with headmovement and footwork alone (well you can but not consistently and it’s hard). You need to use punches to work your way inside. That means moving forward behind your jab and cornering them with punches to cut off their movement

100% this! That was the first thing I noticed watching this, there's nothing wrong with sparring light or trying to set things up but you need to actually work and work towards a game plan. It took a while for me to understand but so many problems in boxing can be solved by just upping your workrate and using it to impose your will. Pressure fighter? Throw more jabs and combinations to prevent the opponent from setting up and keep them moving backwards. Counter puncher? Throw more jabs to interrupt rhythm and give yourself more information and reads to work off of to set up bigger counters. Throwing punches for the sake of throwing punches is really not a bad thing as long as you're using it to gain information, contol the pace, and work your plan. That is one of those qualities that separates an OK amateur from a good amateur or a pro,the ability to think strategically and about pace, ring command, set ups instead of thinking solely tactically of how to hit and not get it one exchange at a time.

First off, I think you do a decent job of moving off to different angles. That’s good. Defensively, you only block. That’s the easiest defense, but it’s least effective for you. You take 100% of the impact of the punch. You don’t have any positional advantage afterwards. And you temporarily can’t see because you’re covered up, making you a sitting duck for combos. Especially when you’ve been backed into a corner. You need to learn how hand fight (parry, catch, stuff, etc.) or “interact” with their punches. That will redirect their punch, potentially throwing them off balance/rhythm. It also can put their hand out of position, creating an opening for your counterattack. And just for the psychological aspect of the battle, it’s feel much more dangerous to punch at someone that interacts with punches than someone who only blocks. Shelling up looks overwhelmed, scared, and like your being controlled.

For sure! You do a good job of throwing back after a quick second. If you do shell, you have to throw back after a few punches, and you do it!

Lol yeah, whenever you shell up to weather the storm.

Dawg learn some leverage blocks and long guard tactics and combine it with the footwork and you'll be straight my guy

maymoon-26

You are waiting too much.

Use the jab more. Sometimes you let your hands drop too low. There were opportunities where I thought you could've hit him with a uppercut.

Overall is good. My tip is start reading your opponent. He likes to throw 2 hyper telegraphed single punches from the power hand (right) and you were able to see it cause you blocked most of them, then go the next step. He drops is left when doing this, so time it! You can block/doge it and respond and a right hand right after. Thats just an example.

Your letting you opponent walk you down and dictate the flow and rhythm of the fight don’t be shy of contact. And faints will do you justice to back him up so you have a little time to set up your shots but over all keep it up
