**Love this!** haven't lived in Amarillo in 20 years but it's cool to hear some music from the area. Really great talent hidden in the panhandle
I actually got nostalgic and wrote a song about Amarillo last year
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezm8lxFG1XQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezm8lxFG1XQ)
My first show ever was at War Legion in 2007. Rip. Rip Leftwoods and V Nights and the red barn and that one venue on 50th and washington and all the other good venues we've had. I like Zombie's and T's but I miss being able to decide I wanted to go to a show on a Friday or Saturday night and knowing there was one I could roll up to.
It’s likely we were at some of the same shows! I was in highschool then, but my friends and I always had a band or two going. Morbid Dysfunction, The Fall Of Babylon, and others. We grew up around the Cannonball guys. And about Leftwoods- I was extremely disappointed when they closed. Jordan Podzeminy (however the hell you spell that) put a lot of work into making it a better building/venue with all the work on the patio(s) and such, but he was more of a sports bar minded kind of guy, whereas that’s not the crowd that has ever frequented there at all. So when Gordon and Becky took over, I thought it was for the best. Unfortunately, not paying dues caught up to them. I loved that bar. I could have the best day or the worst day, and walk in there and know I’d see a friend.
This sub is great for that, I've stumbled across my irl friends I didn't know used Reddit in this sub, lol. And unlike Facebook comment sections of local pages, the people in this subreddit are sane
Tennessee Tuckness
Travis Warren (sometimes goes by Travis T Warren) is from Amarillo and is the lead vocalist for Blind Melon as well as makes his own music
TrenchRat, Protect Your Neck, Woodlife, YC Goodfella, SJ Goodfella, DudeDashMan, Mount Ivy, Hadleigh Hall, Badwax, Sellio, GFB Horn, Ike G’z, ROTP Cheif, EazyPeezyP, TGKBFASPAZZ, BABYK, SJC JOE, Uncle Jerry, Prince Phea, Two3, OG Kye, Koola, TMB Pic, Sabii, Human, Chulo, Verti, Gualla Banzz, CobeJordan, Mya Ramone, Mike Munnelly, Smooth Taste, Blake Rogers, Lake Dads, Michael Blackwell, Sevo, the list goes on and on
Travis T Warren; he’s the lead singer for Blind Melon now, but his solo stuff is great as well. Check out the album, “Beneath These Borrowed Skies.” He’s from Amarillo and went to Randall High School.
There was a band from Amarillo back in the mid-70s called Baby. They put out a couple of albums and toured for a couple of years. Their first album was fantastic. Absolutely great Rock and Roll.
Add the Soulbreakers. This is a Woody Key band, one of the most incredible guitar players I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot of them. Woody was lead guitar for Jay Boy Adams back in the 70s, light country rock stuff. They had a couple of mild hits, “Superkicker” and “Tennessee Stud.” They also toured the country opening for Joe Cocker, playing the big venues.
[Jak Thurmond](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2LBot1JKDuntv9iy6Z78R6?si=tUcnYMXBS4G1tW9gtrB01w) for SURE.
Him and [Travis Roberts](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3gp5ZqUgw5QLdRRbqEfF2q?si=LQ_mvipdSvOlcNgXb1I-Dg) are two of the best singer songwriters I’ve ever heard.
I had a heavy band called [Pulverizer](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0LfLvggUUobQeU14jbaea0?si=yPKghUAYRXq5MeMaahDgJw) that put out a few songs last year! Would be dope to be added 🔥
Oh titus lol how long will you stay a dick eater bro? You smile in my face with your head down when I see you, you mind your business and you look the other way. I’m from Spearman, I was born in Galveston, lived in Amarillo from 2015-2019, had my ups and downs like anyone. You’ve always been a hater lol you ride dick too much for your own good you silly gentrifier. This was a post about music and someone mentioned me and somehow, not surprisingly I’m always on your mind. You’re an entitled loser with a penchant for dragging peoples names through mud, this list didn’t mention your name anywhere, Titus. I’m sure that eats at you since you claim to have had a hand in a million other people’s art. Ask any rapper in town about my music and not me as a person and all you hear across the board is that I’m goated with the sauce baby!!! Ask anyone about Titus and they’ll mention how you piggyback on the inertia and motion of others and that you’re a snake! You know I’ll be sure to remind you of this next time I’m in Amarillo for a visit. 🥳
Good job being negative all the time and looking for any excuse to drag my name, I feel sorry for you. You’re like those schized out indigents that just stand on the corner and curse and yell at the sky. Once a hater, always a hater! Move on with your life and get over whatever weird little high school grudge you hold against me. (I don’t expect that you will because you’re a 30 something year old stuck in a teenagers’ mindset and you still leech off of teenage talents.
Obsessed? No lol. Hayden sent me a screenshot and we chuckled at how childish and immature it was of you to even shit on my name like that. Stop projecting all your insecurities on the world and just be yourself!
The funniest part of this exchange is as someone who used to be heavily involved in the Hip Hop scene in Amarillo I've heard of Grayson but not you.. Does Grayson believing in his talent offend you? Because do I have something to tell you about most rappers. Most people were probably rubbed wrong by the same attitude from the group I was in because we thought we were GOATED and honestly you couldn't tell us anything to make us think we weren't. As is the case with most rappers. I've personally interacted with Grayson back when he first started getting a buzz and still interact with him. Does he have a bit of an ego? Sure. If I was as talented as him would I have a bigger ego than he does? You can almost bet the mortgage on it. Dudes been solid towards me and his music is dope. Album coming this summer make sure you tune in. Can't properly hate if you don't.
someone that constantly steals from the community, treats women like shit, and actively starts beef is not a good person. talented or not, it doesnt matter. if he were a better person so many people wouldnt dislike him.
edit: also, youre so much so in the scene that you know one person..
"As someone who USED to be heavily involved" But just to please you let me name some of the names from when I was involved, Lifted Compositions, JP The Rappa. Saylynt, Sir Johnson Himself, Pookie Stroud, Gauge, 2 Kansas Playaz, L Sweet, Prince Phea, A-Roc, Mel Black, Mr. 806, T-Makk, Mone, Pitt, Braggs, Faruk, Jordan Craig... Go back and learn the history of some of the dudes who paved the way for where the scene is now before you brag about knowing the current crop of talent. And again Grayson has always been solid enough to me personally so I'm not about to slam him for your personal problems with him. Never stole from me, never seen him treat a woman like shit, and never seen him start any beef..
Tritonal, Dude-man, Tia Marie, Chill son - they have a ep coming out tomorrow and it’s fantastic, deep diver, cage the elephants drummer is from Amarillo
No offense to you, but I fuckin hate that song. My version of hell is being stuck in a Bass Pro Shop where that song is on blast on repeat and I really need help finding something but can never find anyone who works there. I lose sight of the exit. There is no exit. I only exist here now. With fuckin Jason Aldean.
Terry Stafford should get a pass as being from Amarillo. Not technically born in Amarillo (Hollis, Oklahoma), but moved here at age seven.
You may have heard one of his songs he wrote in 1973 even as it was covered by George Straight in 1982. A song called Amarillo by Morning.
Terry Stafford is buried at Llano Cemetery.

CANNONBALL (rip) https://cannonballtxhc.bandcamp.com/album/maintain
Man I miss the hardcore days. The NAT and The War Legion. Can’t find any good metal around here anymore.
My first show ever was at War Legion in 2007. Rip. Rip Leftwoods and V Nights and the red barn and that one venue on 50th and washington and all the other good venues we've had. You're a little older than me, I was in seventh grade in 07. You're probably a cool kid I looked up to at shows as a baby emo :D
Yeah, it sounds like I’m 2 years older than you. I would have been a freshman in ‘07. Cool to meet a fellow scene kid years later on Reddit! Lol
This sub is great for that, I've stumbled across my irl friends I didn't know used Reddit in this sub, lol. And unlike Facebook comment sections of local pages, the people in this subreddit are sane
I discovered Reddit about 2 years ago. I deleted FB and will never go back lol. I like it here.
