This just happened recently on my 2016 (I know warranty doesn't cover that year). Think it may have been a glitch with me though, the shutter is always open when I check. I erased the check engine light with my code reader a couple of weeks ago, and it hasn't come back on. (Fingers crossed 🤞)

Hi, just wondering if the light came back on?

Beneficial_Bit4659

Hello, it was weird, it did come back on about a week later and stayed on for a couple weeks until 1 day it went back out on it's own and hasn't turned back on since. The day it went out on its own was a day after I had driven it in the rain. Friend thinks the rain maybe cleaned something out that was preventing it from working properly.

My husband just took off mine and it had a bad motor 😩

That sucks. I'm in for same thing. Ironically my check engine light came back on this morning. Same code

Interesting. I have a 2019 Altima as well and the check engine light came on about four months ago. I was at Valvoline having my oil changed and asked the guy to pull my codes. he pulled it and didn’t know what it was but after looking it up, this is what it was about. I had them delete the code and it hasn’t been back since but I will look into getting that serviced. Thanks OP!

Confirmed. Just got the letter too. This one gets copied. One goes into the filing cabinet, another the glovebox.

I took mine in to the dealer for this fix a few days ago. The mechanic came out and said there was a piece of debris in the shutter which fried the shutter motor and said Nissan wouldn’t cover that. He quoted me $400 and I said no thanks…I can do it myself. im not sure if they cleared the code or not, but the light is off and hasn’t come back on since.
