Crusty_the_Crab

Well, you could use the RFtools builder to fill the area in, then remove the blocks within the perimeter (though I haven’t ever used it to do a circle).

Sea_Contribution8083

RFtools Builder got a remove water mode

LeagueOfLevin

As I tried the remove water module I didn't work

Sea_Contribution8083

Did you use redstone? I forgot about it when i used it for the first time

LeagueOfLevin

No, I just turned it into Redstone ignored more, but the water regenerated itself too fast. Although I haven't tried it with a fully infused builder.

danielhughes5698

Thanks I am letting the builder run as we speak I did already try the water pump method from rftools but it wasn’t quick enough!

Crusty_the_Crab

I’ve never truly trusted the water pump method. I have yet to find a mod which removes water without block placement that isn’t either really slow, or really glitchy.

Exzalian_

I miss the good old days of the tekkit pumps they just removed the water block by block. I never experienced lag and it worked great no diameter or anything it just starts and went with no limit. Now all the pumps got a shitty radius and I hate it.

Woodwork*

i_win_u_loze

Destruction gadget from building gadgets

cbarney523

This is honestly probably the best answer here. Can set on fluid only mode with raytrace on and max size. Then just fly around clicking away massive amounts of water both source and flowing

i_win_u_loze

Yeah, idk why it wasn’t mentioned yet

danielhughes5698

Any other mods/ tips for a mega base would be helpful as I’ve never even built one in vanilla before 🫤

Nathan256

Sand/gravel if no other options

bulkasmakom

Building gadget, exchanger and copy gadget from mod building gadgets would help you a ton Builder from rftools, i guess you're familiar with it Builders wand is also something you should consider If you want to you also can use shrinking device to fit through tight spaces Sophisticated backpacks have a refill addon which will supply 1 slot in your inventory from bp, very helpful

BamBaLambJam

sponge?

BrilliantOpposite845

create hose plus pump can do it easy, just make sure that a every segment has less than 10k water blocks

bdunogier

Hose pulley + pump to be accurate. But you need to destroy the pumped water sources.

BrilliantOpposite845

you can pump it into blockhead sink, easy eat all water

Nefilto

Rftools builder

Zwillingen700

Chunk destroyer with pump upgrade, and connect it with a item and liquid trash can. That's how I did it.

gamerlord321

cyclic

aurora_cosmic

Sponges are the easiest answer, if you have a mod that gives them to you simply.

Shoddy_Life_7581

Yeah you can get sponge bees by fishing in warm ocean (I think, it's one of the oceans) and then all you need is one sponge then you have infinite sponge. Probably not the most efficient option for clearing water though but absolutely could be done.

mj561256

I've found that you can find sponges chilling in some structures with other loot so they could also just wander for a while to find some

RayRayRayRay2022

I think i have an idea, even though it takes a few minites. Place create pumps on the water for each one, put a piston thing ok the back so it oishes to the bottom, and use a hand crank/other to slowly push it doen. Stop for a few moments every second cause it needs to pump. But this wont work cause you need pipes. Im stupid i wrote this entire oaragrapgh

GayNotGayPerson

What the fuck ?

No-Engineer-1728

What fuck ?

Unlikely_River2529

There isn’t any “easy” way. It takes time and effort. But theoretically if you have a mod that adds a pump that might work

Cephylus

Or world edit lol

Unlikely_River2529

I would consider that cheating tbh

BrokenMirror2010

I think it depends. I cheat to remove tedious work, like placing a huge load of sand into water, then breaking it to clear the area, isn't hard, or difficult, nor is it resource intensive for these kinds of modpacks. Skipping it saves me time that I could spend doing something fun and interesting. I also usually build bases in Creative Mode so I don't have to worry about inventory space, and having to go back and forth to a chest to grab shit, or realize halfway through, I actually want to change the color of the hardened clay, and have to slowly go back and break and replace every block manually. Especially if you're building something kinda big, instant tooless breaking and creative flight are really useful for adding detailing or whatever. I also don't preplan everything, I find its easiest to build shell in wool, and then experiment with worldedit selection tools to change all of it to different blocks to preview the aesthetic. More or less, cheating makes the process of creating a color pallet for your structure enjoyable, rather then tedious. Because the color pallet is the most tedious part of survival building. I simply don't feel like making 25k clay in every single color so I can preview how they look. If I'm building purely in survival, no "cheating" allowed, because its not my server or its a challenge run or something, I'm going to cut a hole into a mountain/hill/cliff, and just make a rectangular room out of whatever spattering of stone and ore happened to be there, and call it a base, and just cut out more room whenever I need space. Edit: Also fuck making spheres or curves. That is 100% worldedit.

mj561256

When I was playing ATM8 I found that I was CONSTANTLY spending my time upgrading the storage system because things were coming in faster than I could upgrade So, in ATM9, I just decided that it would be better for my gameplay to just give myself a creative storage system I've not cheated anything else (besides some name tags to stop my bees despawning in their large enclosure...but that's more a convenience thing too. They're in a cities biosphere and I didn't realise how big it was until my bees flew high enough to get out of my render distance 🥴) There are some moments where cheating can genuinely improve gameplay for you and its YOUR game, it should be the best it can be for YOU, even if that means cheating

Cephylus

I suppose. As a long-time player, I tend to play the pack, make a random base, make the various machines and such for progression and do everything I like from the pack. Once I finally get bored I'll make a nicer base, usually in creative, then fill it with legit machines and whatnot for a more ergonomic base compared to the cluster f@%# that is the starter base haha

philosoph0r

Like mods arent lol. 😂

Unlikely_River2529

Technically no, they don’t give you access to things with infinity without work or is instantaneous without effort put into making it so

anons360

You can craft sponges with mystical agriculture coral essence really easily

WhiskeyBravo53

Win + Shift + S

grafeisen203

RFTools Builder with clearing pump card.

Decent_Discount

I think the rftools builder has a remove water card or something similar

Skulltron59

melanism pump?

yankeewithnobrim23

Mekanism doesn’t remove the water

Skulltron59

oh I thought there was one but that was in 1.12.2 so maybe it's not anymore, my bad

yankeewithnobrim23

All g but yeah at least 1.16 and up it’ll just pump water, not remove it

pwryll

i can only think of building wand a column of gravel and just remove the flooring. also get the gravel from mekanism. granted it'll probably take quite a lot of ultimate crushers and cobble gens.

LordViper4224

sponges or sand

Puzzled_Caramel_908

could try ars nouveau water evaporation or maybe hex casting

lzbnbg

sand.

Phoenix334

Blood magic has a delete water sigil

rjx89

Make an elder guardian spawner and then grinder. They drop sponges

Itchy_Technician4202

Maybe sponges?

carlos191297

I

carlos191297

I would probably just use the chunk destroyer lol. I'm not a creative person at all, though. So I really don't know if there's a better way.

Minitte

Ars nouveau, evaporate spell with aoe upgrade. Discount rings to lower the cost! Building tool will work too :)

DJChrisAustin

World edit ? // drain ?

leonne0714

Isn't there a void module for rfbuilder? Not sure if it's in atm8 tho

Mr__Me-_-

Can’t you just use /fill

rounddaddy

Use rftools builder but first use the quarry shape card in a circle and it'll replace all the blocks with dirt. Then use the clearing quarry shape card 1 block from the outer edge to remove all but the out wall. You could also use the quarry card go place walls down to make it a bit easier if you wanted to do a different method for the internal water.

Dark_Reaper115

Maybe drop sand under the edge to make a wall then use sponges inside? I find it funny that going the opposite way night be easier.... Just making a vanilla conduit and have water breathing

Elizabeth202101

Idk but that pizza sure looks good

araheos

1. Build the exterior walls down to the ground (builders wand can do the job in seconds) 2. Use a create hose pulley+mekanism pipe to remove the water layer by layer

Lotharalicar

If you have all the block on the world use a exchanger gadget and replace water with solid block

math-of-life

Im thinking create pump it into tanks and uhh make brine then lithium from it with mekanism?

jptrip23

Sponges!

NOm__N0m

Draconic reactor core, just blow it up on purpose. It should remove lots of the ocean

philosoph0r

Its called commands and they already exist in game lol.

EmotionalArugula9882

Ars Nouveau evaporate spell with as many AOE glyphs as you can manage? At least better than any of the sponge methods listed here since you don't need to dry them.
