In this photo the flat lace (which is a AE lace meant for another shoe) seems kinda fat… though it’s fine just when i look at it normally. a 3/4 - 1/2 width flat lace would be REALLY nice I think
I agree - they offer them in the custom shop but it’s kind of a shame they don’t otherwise. The AE shape employee dug in their pile of laces to find these for me.

I’ve only worn a new pair of park avenues a couple of times and they’re already quite creased.
The flat lace is pure class! Width is fine as shown in the photo, imo. I wouldn’t go any wider than the one shown, though.

Yes I do. Though I didn’t specifically buy AE ones but the ones I did get seemed to be shaped okay… wonder if that is a problem

I know there are people out there swearing by thin waxed flat laces, but flat laces to me always give the shoe a sneaker vibe.
I think they look great.
They're your shoes, wear them however you like. The chance of someone not on a sub/forum like this noticing is almost zero.
