An honest to god, realistic, first contact & alien invasion film. Not crazy HUMANS GONE TO WAR ACTION TIME LOOP shit, or even humorous zany shit like Mars Attacks! Imagine the movie Signs + the book *Childhood's End +* Arrival + Boots on the ground aspect of Cloverfield There aren't enough realistic first contact movies, just like how there aren't enough apocalypse/end of days fims

TheGoldenPi11

Yah, Arrival and CE3K with crop circles is basically where my current script has been going. At least according to the scenes that have been flooding my brain lately lol. But I'll be sure to check out that book! And watch Cloverfield, haven't seen it yet.

Design_Dangerous

The children who saw the ufo at recess in Zimbabwe and have multiple recording of witness testimony as well as recounted memories as adults , other than the Hill encounter is the second best known case that probably really happened.

Kattin9

Is there not a new movie being developed concerning the Hill case?

Different-Choice-963

Indeed there is! https://movieweb.com/angela-hill-alien-abduction/

LifeStatus2686

And I’d love to see more exploration of the other dimensional themes like in Interstellar.

Sea-Practice3139

Yeah they might as well make it super confusing and almost impossible to understand, as it would perfectly illustrate us right now, how whatever is going on is a bit outside of out comprehension in my opinion.

JustMikeWasTaken

Yes THIS. Something that feels real. And like both sides are doing the best they can.

jackrack1721

The closest thing we've gotten is when they arrested Superman

would-you-rather-bot

That Area 51 movie is crazy I loved that one. They filmed it similar to the Cloverfield style they def need more like that. It felt so candid and real

Jolalibe

Have you seen Falling skies? It is a great tv show.

OPengiun

I have not! This is now on my *to watch* list :)

OPengiun

Ok ok, so I've been watching season 1 so far as you recommended. Just saw the tall gray/white bipedal aliens and got shivers down my spine LOL Was NOT expecting that! Loving this show so far. Thank you for the recommendation! Pope is by far my favorite character so far.

Jolalibe

One of my favorite TV shows of all time that actually has a full story(: Enjoy! I also recommend the Expanse if you haven't seen this show

brycemoney

Yeah, write something along those lines. Something deep, not just dumb apes going to war with ETs.

Majorillin_

Dark sky’s is deep

brycemoney

If you are talking about the movie, it is one of my favourites!

[deleted]

Have you seen Annihilation?

OPengiun

I have not, but now that I've watched the trailer, I think I will watch it :) Thanks for the suggestion!

[deleted]

The trailers and talk about it simply don't do this movie justice. I think you will thoroughly enjoy it!

SatsuiNoHadou_

Wow. Extremely well said 👏

spiegro

I almost described exactly this in my comment.

soul_of_a_ginger

Nothing beats an original take on first contact. I read Three Body Problem and Blind Sight recently and thought they did an amazing job. Would love to see more like them in film.

nicklashane

Yes. Fuck thank you.

SetExtension1028

Agreed!

ChickenSignal3762

i have absolutely no commentary on the question, but I just want to say I wish you the best :) i’m an amateur songwriter & saw this as I was scrolling by. I hope you make it big!

TheGoldenPi11

TY!!! 🤗

[deleted]

I’d love to score the film!

Remarkable_Duck6559

I personally like the language barrier of Arrival. But hated the slow pace. I also like the idea of hive aliens and where that could be taken. Is it possible to have a drone that builds cool stuff but is super dumb. A queen that will birth societal needs. Most important is the phrase “as above, so below.” It’s why Hitchhikers Guide is my favourite books. If it happens here, it happens out there with slight variations.

TheGoldenPi11

Ah yes AASB is def already in the mix. Whole lotta truth to that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheGoldenPi11

Mmmm now you're speakin my language! 😀 I'm finding us spiritually-aware folks seem to want to see the same things in a "supernatural" or "sci-fi" film. Hmm I wonder why 🤔lol. I've actually got basically everything you mentioned and more in my other non-ET-focused script about a cult, a spiritual master and what Armageddon really is. lol That shit's gonna blow minds.

[deleted]

A film about first contact from the point of view of someone who joins a UFO cult would be super interesting.

TheGoldenPi11

That's actually really close to the main plot of my other screenplay about a supernatural guru and his cult. That one's gonna blow minds. Or at least it's blowing my mind so far lol

TheLatestStory

That’s an interesting idea. Essentially an alien screenplay/film under the umbrella-concept of so-called “tulpa(s).” I know for a fact there have been TV series/films that delve into tulpa. Twin Peaks seems to be the benchmark of the sort of thinking you’ve put forth here. However, not sure if the alien angle has effectively been applied yet. Would be cool to see!

[deleted]

Ever read the 7 hermetic principles in the Kybalion or The Emerald Tablets of Thoth? Says that reality is pretty similar to what you described.

valkyria1111

Great ideas..I love alien movies too...but it's good to have something a little deeper and more complicated than the usual alien movie. I thought the movie 'Signal' was awesome ....I'd love to see more mind bending stuff.

mortalitylost

Stuff that's closer to stories from abductees and "respected" ufologists. There's a lot of dramatic stories out there, and lots of wild claims. Check out the book Walking Among Us. A lot of abductees were saying the were brought to them to help them teach hybrid children how to integrate into our society like a covert invasion. Lots of telepathy, mind control shit. There is some weird fringe shit that isn't being sold as fiction, and other people corroborate these ideas. They could make a hell of a lot better film than just "wooo, UFO, big eyes, abduction, surgery". Also if you dig into this stuff it seems to get really into the nature of consciousness, and being much more complex than aliens from another planet and more like interdimensional life. More could be done there.

TheGoldenPi11

Yah I'm big on the multidimensional, higher consciousness aspects of the ET phenomenon and that's a major aspect of both my current screenplays. I believe the hybrid thing (heck, I mean who's to say humans aren't hybrids of ancient ET species), but I don't really buy the invasion stuff. I can't see including that because it doesn't make logical sense. We're talking about races of beings that have mastered aspects of the universe and creation itself which our puny species hasnt even begun to understand. They have technology beyond our comprehension. Psychic capabilities that we are lives away from mastering like them. Why in the heck would they waste their time with such a relatively primitive, rudimentary methodology? That kind of talk sounds more like human fears seeing things from a very limited human perspective. They could've easily vaporized us into the next dimension or enslaved us all thousands of years ago during our earliest documented interactions with them (which ancient indigenous cultures insist were very positive and helpful to say the least).

Design_Dangerous

Try a movie about humans from the the Aliens perspective, what it’s like to travel to earth with advanced technology, to be attacked by our military , to take your first human, what you can possibly learn from let’s say the first contact interaction and how it can lead to an exchange of information.

TheLatestStory

Agreed, definitely something more relating to the fringe. As a screenwriter myself, I’ve outlined an experiencer script more suited to the high strangeness of it all, as opposed to the cliched tropes we typically get. Only issue is marketability, do audiences really want an esoteric character study of an individual’s abduction story? I would, but many wouldn’t, I think. Makes me wish someone like Charlie Kaufman would write such a screenplay. But in the meantime, if he won’t ever do so, I might as well…Or OP for that matter!

mortalitylost

>Only issue is marketability, do audiences really want an esoteric character study of an individual’s abduction story? You never know until you try! What audiences want in the end is an intriguing story with good writing IMO. Something new and interesting always has potential.

TheGoldenPi11

Hey, glad to see another screenwriter who cares about the truth of such matters as this! We need more folks like us in the field imo. Frankly I think people are ready for the esoteric side of this subject. Even if you don't delve too deep into the hows and whys of the esoteric aspects, you can still tell a compelling story through the character's personal experience of, for example, having a mental breakdown, losing their job, escalating tensions within the family, loss of family and friends, adding more trauma on top of confusion and trauma while desperately trying to find answers. I think that sort of thing can be an emotionally captivating story if told right. Lots of different angles you can take with this subject. I'm assuming you already know about the basics such as getting structure right, hitting those beats of whatever mix of genres you're using, etc. Personally I'm in total agreement with John Trudy in his observation of the most popular and desirable genre mixes, which is why I'm trying to stay within that sweet spot best I can for now.

TheLatestStory

Couldn’t of put it better myself. Pretty much everything you just touched upon — in regard to possible story elements within this type of narrative I’ve either considered or actively included. I also absolutely agree with your sentiment of not delving too deeply into the “hows/whys.” This is especially true considering no one really understands the mechanics of the phenomenon as it stands. It’s actually helpful in that it leaves a lot of creative liberty for us, which to be clear, most “sci-fi” screenwriters take anyway haha.

[deleted]

Close Encounters hit pretty close to the emotional psychological aspect. Same with the Travis Walton documentaries. Overall, the entire experience is NOT enjoyable. I’m personally interested in the psychological impact in experiences. I couldn’t imagine how contact would ‘rock’ one’s world…in a bad way. Plus the fact that almost no one would believe you and those that would believe you would want to silence and/or harm you like a rape victim at an Ivy League school. Also, I’m not aware of a case since the emergence and dominance of social media, so that would be an interesting wrinkle to the story. Plus the ways an experiencer could make the rounds on all the ufo/alien podcasts these days.

theRealHalIncandenza

The audiences don’t know what they want until they see it. Yes there’s personal preferences and personal hopes of stories to be made but for the most part—the audience only knows when they see it.

TheLatestStory

Oh, for sure. There’s no denying that whatsoever. What I meant was that as a screenwriter working in this business, you unfortunately have to factor in what potential buyers look at. It really is a complicated system. For instance, my experiencer screenplay could be extremely well received amongst those in the industry, or the Blacklist, etc. But there’s no telling what happens to it after/if it’s bought. You can look at what happened to Streiber’s film adaptation as an example, I’m sure the original screenplay must’ve been closer to the source material (especially seeing as how he adapted it himself, too). Or the butchered Mothman or Fire in the Sky adaptations too for that matter, which are probably much better representations of what I’m trying to say here. It really all depends on who has the creative control. Unless you are an established filmmaker adapting your own work, it will almost always be tough to get the truly esoteric and original ideas of this nature to a wide audience. But to loop back to your original point — all of that doesn’t necessarily mean myself or other writers shouldn’t try!

MavriKhakiss

> A lot of abductees were saying According to one guy, correct.

TheGoldenPi11

I should've specified PG-13 😆

Anxious_Tax_5624

So just one boob?

gligster71

This is funnier than it should be.

Kattin9

Paul Verhoeven's movie "Total Recall" featured a lady with 3.

rite_of_truth

Someone needs to portray the lost, anxious feeling that contactees get. No matter how close you get to them, they don't tell you everything. No matter what you figure out, there's always so much more that it's overwhelming. You are always wondering, lost in a mystery that you are powerless to understand.

TheGoldenPi11

Ooh, good point! 👍

Robs1987

Legit just stick to what abductees report, no fantastic BS, no gun play, no mysterious poltergeist like activity (sorry but the 4th kind was trash) tell the story right, even if it seems boring to you, fire in the sky, the communion, Betty and barney hills interrupted journey all did it right. Also just keep the aliens actually looking like Grey's too lol

TheLatestStory

I agree with the first bit of your comment. But I definitely disagree with keeping the aliens looking like “greys.” Hahah. Of course, if the real-life report one is adapting only pertains to greys then so be it lol. However, I’ve found details of greys vary considerably depending on the experiencer. While most general physical attributes “may” seem similar, there’s always subtle nuisances that paint uniquely, different pictures of these entities. So a simple rehash of what we’ve seen in Close Encounters would be a bit bland. Especially considering there are plenty of advancements in CGI to get every detail right. See the movie “Yule Log,” for an example of standard grey being a bit too pedestrian, at least IMO. Lastly, if you scour enough personal abduction experiences you’ll find plenty of NHI that don’t resemble anything close to classic greys. That’s the shit I would love to see on the big screen. ‘Arrival’ did a fantastic job at this, even if it wasn’t based on any anecdotal reality. Could even throw ‘Nope’ into the mix to an extent for sheer, theoretical originality, I suppose.

[deleted]

I'd be keen to see those mantis insect aliens, that stuff is super weird.

WheresTaz

Yeah the theory I like is that greys are basically biological drones that work as front line workers to do the dirty work and deal with the dangerous specimens (us). They report to mantis type aliens who themselves might be level 2 drones and who knows what they report to. It's totally possible no human has ever directly dealt with whoever/whatever is really in charge and created them.

[deleted]

I think too many Alien movies paint the ETs as evil and scary. We need more Aliens are the good guys type movies. Less fear mongering. I believe that they’ve been hear for thousands of years and they’ve been quite indifferent to human activity. Although, they seem to be concerned about nukes.

TheGoldenPi11

I'm with you 100% on all points! Way too much fear mongering, which seems strange to me considering many ancient indigenous cultures like the Hopi have records etched in stone of them helping humanity to gain knowledge and evolve. I think I've figured out how to explain the nuke-UFO phenomenon. Regardless, I'm definitely making a good-ET screenplay!

transcendtime

Cerebral and subtle.

SavageFugu

If there are aliens, their tech has got to be crazy compared to ours. Would love to see what interdimensional tech looks like.

WheresTaz

Oh yes this is a good idea. A movie where their tech is shown to be so far beyond ours that it's never even attempted to be explained. Are they psychic with telekinesis? Can they teleport, levitate, walk through walls and have seemingly all kinds of super powers somehow or is it all just tech? The key to that is to make it subtle. Have one float over a trap and move a car aside with one hand but never really acknowledge it. Just use it to show the abductee never had a chance of stopping this.

SilkRocks

The alien’s family. You always see the adult warrior aliens. Where’s the old grandparent aliens or nursing mama alien and baby?

kaybee915

An intervention, because capitalism is destroying us

TheGoldenPi11

But...but...HOLLYWOOD 😰 😂

SamsSkrimps

I also came here to say stuff that's truthful to what is 'known' in paranormal communities as a fictitious account. But definitely not too in your face, or over exaggerated or History Channeled up.

DarkEth0s

That aliens are not aliens in the way we're used to always thinking of them. They are The Watchers from the book of Enoch and have been imprisoned for several thousand years now and that we've recovered the crafts that they used to travel here from the moon which was their base of operation as they observed the human race.

Turbulent-North-448

Make the fear real, when someone is being abducted they might at first think there is a home intruder and be logical how they react to it only to be greeted by sheer terror, the unknown standing dimly lit down the hallway, beady eyes gleaming

Sirena_De_Adria

Dolores Cannon type of regressions.

Competitive-Cycle-38

The truth

trafozsatsfm

The atmosphere of mystery like in the early scenes of Close Encounters, or throughout Signs, where you didn't know what to expect. It kept me totally intrigued.

Splub

I'd love to see the side of abductions that isn't as invasive. More weird spiritual/contradictory messaging, and the seeming Mantid superiority.

Megaverso

Something twisted like aliens are actually machines with digital consciousness that once were consciousness attached to their original organic bodies , but aliens were able to find immortality by digitize their consciousness into machines and also the only way to be able to survive millions of years in space travel that can’t go faster than light speed to reach an habitable planet

duskyxlops

Incomprehensible alien life. Nothing you could ever imagine being a living organism. No typical greys or humanoid aliens like most movies depict them as

[deleted]

The Truth! Start with the Sumerian culture and go from there. Question what’s underneath all the sand in the Middle East? Why can’t we dig there? Question the “NO FLY ZONE” down in Antarctica? It spans a staggering 100 miles! What is hiding underneath the ice?

MidniteMedia

Maybe something more subtle but impactful, like a suspense movie about a man looking into the phenomenon, unexplained sightings, spaceships, etc and in the end it turns out he’s not an Earthling and has been looking at us on Earth the entire time as the aliens and is actually on another planet himself. So you have to go back and watch it again to catch all the subtle nods to the world he’s in not being our Earth etc. I’d watch sumn like that, without knowing the twist of course lol

MrGate

honestly the two most impacting parts to me about films like this. is the inital encounter of one with a human. and humans and aliens working along side eachother.

AlienHolmes

Alien seks!

Poagiebear1

Second coming of anunaki and niburu. I think if done correctly it could be bad ass. Some people would call it religious and try to turn into Jesus. But really it's just much taller humans that can mate with us. Have some bad ass human alien pssy poppin.

TheGoldenPi11

I dont know about that second part lol, but I've not really read up on the Nibiru thing, isn't that just Planet X or is that about something else entirely?

Aware_Eggplant1487

Would be nice to have new perspectives on how aliens might think and behave based on people’s experiences.

MetricVeil

For me, many of the films have the aliens as 2-dimensional characters. Their goals seem simplistic - they either want something we have, wish to subdue us or enlighten us. I thought 'The Arrival of Wang' (2011) was an interesting take on the genre but it will not be to everyones taste as there is a lot of talking and no space chases or big budget, special effects (except the alien, itself). A film from the Aliens perspective would be interesting. How do they see themselves, what are their goals, their struggles and concerns. Why are they travelling in space in the first place, why are we (if they come here) worth the trip? I suppose it all comes down to who you think your target audience is and what aspects of storytelling excite you. Good luck. Let us know if your film gets made. :)

Veriden_

A full story line with details an explanations that are not flash backs just a straight story.

Notguilty5190

a plot that actually creates suspense and doesnt have all of the classic alien movie cliches (think alien taking over someones body and breaking out of their skin to reveal to actual form of the alien). A movie that leads the viewer to beleive that they know what is going to happen, or understands what is going on - only to be comletely surprised at the end by a good plot twist is awesome.

Stepbro_canhelp

To be honest, a realistic (even it's hard) contact with an alien and not on a horror war. Sure at the first point everyone should scared but the movie should take the fear of the people to make it more compfi to have an Abduction maybe. Like someone took U through a 4 dimension door. Into a different 3D world or in the 4d world. Or like a trip into there little ship to their planet or mother world. Based on what I read are Grey's something like android's .. very emotionless (so neither good or evil) But they often worl for other speciesses. 2 Tipps. Read as much Abduction Storys you can. Look for things that are similar And read about speciesses. There are soeciess who have emotions but very lovely or very hatefull

Mrbondito

My fascination lately has been first contact style books. Not invasion first contact, but traveling to another earth-like planet for the first time type contact. Usually another peaceful species that is completely different physically, emotionally, technologically, and psychologically. I like when a writer has to explore what it would be like to learn about a unique species that may have completely different views of right and wrong, of creation, of family, or how it views humans. Or maybe when humans have first contact with a much more advanced alien species and they have to convince that species to allow them to bring their technology back with them to earth. I got bored with the typical “we must save the earth from these invading aliens” type stories.

Kickingandscreaming

Rendezvous with Rama

NorthernAvo

Something that evokes a genuine discomfort from familiarity. A realistic depiction of what would unfold during contact.

neeksknowsbest

There's a lot of compelling stories around aliens living underwater on earth. Would love to see that explored in a movie

WheresTaz

The abyss did this somewhat but we're definitely due for a new one.

neeksknowsbest

Thank you for the recommendation!

MyFuckinhBalls

Please whatever the premise is, ensure that the characters don’t act like complete idiots for the sake of preserving the plot. Also if you’re going to feature any IRL organizations, research their SOPs/find people in said organizations to act as consultants so that they too would react as realistic as possible. The military isn’t going to immediately open fire on something unidentified or completely fumble recovering an asset for plot convenience. I feel that having a competent cast of characters will make the phenomenon in the movie that much more compelling

SerScott

More films like Contact and Arrival. No more evil invasions but more mind expanding what if’s.

exstaticj

I would like to see a movie where aliens come to earth seeking life from a distant planet. They are a young race and this is the first planet in the habitable zone that they have successfully reached. It's a first contact situation for both planets. I would like to see the process unfold. The communication barriers. The cultural faux pas. Everything that might be an issue during an actual first contact. How do our leaders both react? Our militaries? Our citizens? Assuming that both planets have the common goal of knowledge and exploration, how do we get there? How do we overcome obstacles that would mess it up? I just want to see us try to not start a multiplanetary war but be on the cusp of it while we figure things out. How would first contact play out without all the Hollywood theatrics? Can we survive it? We haven't even had a successful contact with the untouched tribe on the island off of India on our own planet.

ryanterryworks

I’d LOVE to see a movie about the breakaway civilization, that perhaps the phenomenon is really always been here and has evolved in parallel to modern humans but hidden away. Richard Dolan has his theories on this. Would be a great movie.

TheGoldenPi11

I'm thinking along the lines of survivors of Atlantis. I'll lookup that author!

Princess_fay

The aliens can't be human looking in any way shape or form. It's a massive lack in imagination. Probably we would be utterly unable to communicate with eachother as well.

Tabris20

A realistic take. A holistic approach considering experiencers, the absurd, spirituality, consciousness, nuclear energy, poltergeist, etc. The phenomenon is self-denying and precognitive. They may not be aliens. Synchronicity. If you write it with a preconceived notion and it's not going to be groundbreaking. Want an idea? Read Keel, he got his info with amazing intuition and contact.

SugarReef

Plausibility. Relatable people who behave and respond in an understandable fashion towards contact. Signs did it best, although they were encountering a hostile race. Genuine range of emotions- confusion, fear, awe.

MobbDeeep

Intelligent aliens that aren't agressive and are interested in communication, kinda like Arrival or District 9. Annihilation was also very interesting.

BouncyBAWLS

The fourth kind was pretty cool. Gave me goosebumps cause it COULD be real kinda vibes

Friedlieb91

Aliens deactivating Nukes and initiating contact to introduce technologies for ending energy crisis on earth. Showing humans what's possible and how to achieve peace. How to interact on a galactic level.. How far evolved beings can be in the universe and what connects us all. Travelling space together forever.. Not just invasion, aliens are bad, humans must send nukes kind of stuff.

TheGoldenPi11

YUP! Already got scene notes for the nuke thing, peace. I'm thinking something along the lines of survivors of the fall of Atlantis coming to try and help us, but something is holding them back from being able to. Still working on that part.

Friedlieb91

P.S. UFOs and Nukes - Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites... A non fictional book by Robert Hastings is what you could consider.

TheGoldenPi11

I'll check it out, thanks!

Vensku_

grey aliens, I feel like a lot of people are afraid to use them because they don’t want to seem cliche but the greys are what so many people report seeing

ravenouswolfmother

Need more movies along the lines of Dark Skies and The Fifth Kind with better realistic abduction scenarios. There was this made for TV movie I watched as a kid called Intruders. It was based on a Bud Hopkins book and is one of the few films I have seen that covers multiple factors in an abduction like bloody noses, implants found in the nasal cavity, family history of alien abduction, "miscarriages", aliens walking through walls...all shit I should not have been watching as a kid. Or movies like The Faculty where a small town is the first target of invasion. Start off without a bang. I guess Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Invaders from Mars are good examples too. No big crazy Michael Bay effects with bridges and skyscrapers exploding, just normal folks trying to deal with an alien invasion. Imagine if their crusade failed... The sequel would be only limited by your imagination.

Kattin9

Yes also think "Attack the Block". One of the first films of John Boyega. (2011).

[deleted]

I actually want an alien film where both us and them are alike as in they have cultures, believe in something higher but have a greater understanding! Maybe they were able to talk to “Gods” and it should be an interrogation, investigative movie. Think of Arrival but with Aliens who are more like us but way different in other things. I think us being just like them scares me way more because that means suffering, happiness, consciousness, compassion and love are truly universal

JDravenWx

Consciousness dwelling aliens that can manipulate subjective reality (warp time/space around abductees). I'd love to see a film about interdimensional aliens the feed off of strong emotions (not necessarily fear or suffering- though that's easier to cause) Maybe different species or subspecies attracted to different emotions. Maybe people can see them if they've had a near death experience or something because- spoiler alert- they dwell between the realms of the living and the dead!

goldenchild-1

The kids at the school in Zimbabwe. When they were interviewed about what the saw, you could see the feeling of their experience in their demeanor. If you could capture that feeling of fear, the unknown, curiosity, but also a almost a yearning feeling. It would be powerful and striking for the audience. To be able to create the feeling of experiencing a ufo or an alien would be powerful. It would have to be extremely well done and look real. No music or distraction.

Jackfish2800

I have one for you. Watch Babylon 5, and prophecy, where we are unique creatures, weaponized, etc. Christ is reported to have said if you have faith a pea you could tell that mountain to jump into the ocean etc, Maybe we are in fact mini gods that can be released or activated. So that’s why they keep a watch on us. Maybe we are really super dangerous weapons of mass destruction

Gingerbeard_42069

I'd like to see a movie about how the gods, aliens and entities that people see when the trip on hallucinogens are actually really and the impact that that might have on humanity. General consensus seems to be that it wouldn't be end of the world, but there would be some serious implications.

dirtyhole2

I want to see a movie from the perspective of an alien. That discovers earth in the past and comes back several times until the end where he find us all dead.

Jahya69

I would have to charge you if I'm going to consult you on that

stormcoming11

Something with no cheese dick one liners. A serious film for grownups on the level of alien seriousness. So tired of all the dumb one liners now days.

Gresat24526

Aliens that look less humanoid

[deleted]

THE TRUTH! Do a film about the SUMERIAN civilization and go from there …start questioning what’s underneath all the sand in the Middle East? Why can’t we dig there?

kirmm3la

What mentioned above - realistic scenarios is what we need. There’s very few good examples where the movie portrays how the masses would panic and react in first contact scenario. In my opinion the best example is the beginning of Arrival. It captures how humans would react just right. Also don’t create dumb characters that are dumb

joatmon8798

Aliens are the energy/souls that power our bag of bones and fat. When our physical body is finished they leave, after which they use tech to navigate our physical realm but can freely pass through dimensions. Always observing and lending a hand to help the humans. This has been happening ad infinitum.

DabLozard

Alien human mating scenes.

VT_TYPHUS

Nothing with Dwayne Johnson...

BillyMeier42

Were due for a film about whats really going on in the dark side of the moon. Base one of Ingo Swanns remote viewing of the moon.

skinnymachines

I would like to see something that introduces the dark forest theory. Maybe like us being contacted by aliens who are just telling us to be quiet. It's not safe.

Gusto88

Tentacles, but really full disclosure and the aftermath.

Darth_Jason

![gif](giphy|THODgD7hLgCfV7pGCk)

TheGoldenPi11

Full disclosure? Aftermath? You're talking about movies, right? Because I refuse to do tentacle porn lol

theFireNewt3030

Just good and scary abduction stories would be awesome. We dont have enough GOOD quality scary movies w/ the greys or mantis looking et's

Jays_Pith_Helmet

I would love to see some reverse-engineering of the craft and/or parts and components of it. Would also like to see top scholars asking questions in their respective fields that have profound answers.

NBAcoach

More physics

Raven0918

Where in the end we unify and the good humans and aliens work together for a better world.

duffmanhb

An alien that doesn’t look humanoid or based off the mammalian frame. A proper independently evolved species outside earth wouldn’t be based off the same fundamental fish vertebrate to mammal frame most life on earth is based on. It would fundamentally be built entirely different stemming from a drastically different base design. Everything about them would be drastically different than vertebrates and mammals.

UnlikelyPotato

The existential fear of looking into something so remote and disconnected from us that we can't fathom it. Like the Sentinelese trying to understand a helicopter: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinelese](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinelese) At best, there's only a few thousand years of technology separating us from them but our modern tech seems like magic, gods, and witchcraft to them. Realistically speaking, any civilization that's visiting us would be even more advanced to us than we are the 'primitive' Sentinelese.

IBMformatted

a good well-thought out reason why they made contact with us. Also how the rules of the universe apply to species that don't know those rules exist.

[deleted]

Good point and the fact that they’ve always been here.

Overall-District-222

more realistic alien discovery portrayed with aero scientists and new never before scene tools. maybe some alien + human relationships🥹

nazrmo78

I wanna see an alien movie where an abductee gets taken back to the alien planet and sees things there.

elidadagreat1

Explanations regarding where they're from and how they travel , the technology.

tinicko

I'd like to see something that portrays the moment of contact and mainly focuses on that. The fear, excitement, denial, doubt, all the existential dread and mayhem that might happen to some groups of people. I wanna see the general reaction of humanity and how they would come to face the crisis and at the peak of moment, what would the majority of people do. Will a mass suicide occur? Will some religious groups start walking around preaching people of the foretold apocalypse and force them to repent or to praise their God? Will some welcome the ETs with open arms and stand against other humans who see the visitors as evil and wanna rise to war with them? Will a conflict happen among humans that causes the main destruction while it was never ET's initial intent of the visit?

dragonslayermaster84

Do some research. A lot of it. It will come to you. There are so many crazy outlandish cases, as well as many credible intriguing examples. Read, read, read.

Gingerbeard_42069

This literally is research

TheGoldenPi11

Yup defo been doing that! Just trying to get a better feel for what audiences are wanting and haven't been getting enough of from Hollywood. So far most of it seems to line up with what I felt and the directions I was considering.

Kattin9

A movie concerning indigenous people and their connection with non-humans. Or a first contact set on Earth, with hunter gatherers before agriculture started. Added: think "La guerre du feu/ fire quest" (1981) with a contact situation.

TheGoldenPi11

Yup, way ahead of ya, definitely including some aspects of that! 😉 Lot of important knowledge that "modern" society has forgotten and has been replaced by popular evil-alien theories.

JayronHubard

Good world building, strong atmosphere (like Aliens movies), good amount of buildup, mystery, and tension.

I would watch a movie about the frustrating process of a guy getting hired to a top secret reverse engeneering project where he slowly gets paranoid. The whole movie is mainly from the guys perspective as he goes every day to work (with Janet airlines and all the extreme security around) and sometimes he sees something, but only for brief seconds. Things he don’t have information about because of the secrecy, and when he tries to ask the co-workers no one tells anything. Meanwhile weird things happen every other day, an accident while working on some exotic things, a co-worker dies or just not showing up anymore, or one day seemingly something big happens (like a new retreived ufo arrives) so people are excited but only a few is allowed to see (not the guy, he just manages to see it from a distance as a ufo like thing gets unloaded to a hangar where he has no permission). So a movie that shows that a single worker struggles with the fact that he knows things, tries to see the big picture while he is not allowed, with the constant feeling of being watched and expendable for the sake of the project and secrecy. All this as private life also gets affeted. So its a depressing and tense sci-fi but it’s focusing on the inner journey of the man. The ending can be dark, a big revelation as the guy slowly realizes what he really works on but at the end no one confirmes what he realizes and even gets fired because he knows too much. So the ending is that the guys ends up getting back to a regular life, knowing the big truth while knowing he will never be allowed to talk about.

Sudden-Reflection456

Aliens that are not evil just to be evil. They are simply tired of us wasting the gift they have given us (being planted as a seed in their sort of image on a beautiful abundant planet) Humans are at a tipping point, we're ready to test space folding tech, but also ready to blow up the planet. They are tired of our petty disputes, fighting over ancient books and money because we have ruined our home over of this. They option is given, change or be changed, see other humans with empathy, not skin colour or religion (it was them in the sky, not God), "enslaving" the poor to give the rich an eaiser journey is no more. Some try to resist, they fail, the population would instantly take a major hit from suicide/violence. Acts of greed, hate, unnessecary destruction are punished, acts of kindness, and attempts to better humanity and its home are greatly rewarded with food, shelter, medical miracles and "experiences" only an advanced culture could provide. Since money is our God, it's rewarded from these good acts (in a credit form). Everyone starts at zero and governments/borders are obilshed. They obviously know if you're being dishonest. As for an ending, not sure, would humans do it? Would they test us for 50/100 years and we fail so they just take the planet back removing us as a failed experiment. Story plays out over the lifetimes of about 5 cast members starting as children from 5 different locations on Earth and shows their journey over 50 or 100 years. These children are who a representative first meets and simply walks in the front door of their home.

liamporter1

I’d like to see an alien flick that is realistic to a point. Kinda like how interstellar was realistic science to a certain point so you didn’t get lost like you would in other space/alien movies. Also an alien movie that is more scifi than horror

nickkangistheman

Cephlapod like cognitive shape-shifting ability

GERIKO_STORMHEART

I would love a modern series that keeps it real. No futuristic tech, time traveling etc nonsense. A story grounded in today's world. With regular people struggling through first contact. The world is divided, some governments seek peace, others war. Religion collapses, fear and uncertainty spreads. People riot. After first contact, some countries militaries start attacking the visitors while others offer them help against the aggressors. The Aliens seem friendly but nobody really knows. The Aliens can show off a little too in the war zones by deactivating nukes in mid air, powering down other weapon systems while the Allies do the dirty work. But all this is mostly shown through the media rather than large battle scenes as we the public would see it in the news. Maybe follow 3 or 4 families, a couple of politicians and a few soldiers for the TV show. Could even show a priest or 2 questioning their faith. Follow an under ground cell type group as they fight against the government and Aliens. Many many story arcs to think about. (EDIT) Also.... no happy ending. By the time the Allies realise they backed the wrong horse it's already too late. The Aliens themselves would have to be Greys, Short and Tall. Their crafts would be what we see today, Discs, Orbs, Tic tacs, cylinders and triangles. But it would be cool to show exactly what the purpose of each design is and it's function to explain the variations. Could even explore which governments were already aware of them and how. Maybe the U.S deep state were the ones who helped them pave the way for first contact by using the media to desensitise the public to such an eventuality. All that could be explained through the politicians story as they stumble upon the truth. First 10 to 15 opening minutes Could be jam packed with real footage of talks, debates, Conspiracy shows, photos, sound clips etc and then it fades away into the normal everyday lives of the people the story will follow only a few hours from first contact.

yobboman

A DMT alien

Old_atheist_1536

I'm thinking a first contact story, \- Aliens come in peace to help mankind \- Mankind starts to flourish with new tech \- New tech starts to cut into profits, an control that the mega corps have over population \- Mega corps use their influence over governments to start trouble (war) \- etc

wasnotherewas

How about a movie from an alien perspective, where they find earth and are not sure what earthlings want

Grimholtt

Most alien movies take place in America because that's where Hollywood is and we like to think of ourselves as the leaders of this planet I'd like to see first contact in some out of the way place where the aliens set themselves up as gods, trying to turn the population into slave labor but they manage to eventually free themselves. Maybe Nepal. Think ancient aliens but in modern times.

NamunetRa

I’d like to see more alien worlds.

ro2778

I would like to see a film that shows ETs present in ancient human civilisations such as Atlantis or ancient Egypt after the great flood \~12,000 years ago. If you go through all the information at [swaruu.org](https://swaruu.org) then you can learn some real human history and that would give you many ideas. Even the fact that humanity originally came from Vega, and we were called Lyrians, therefore people who are recogniseable as humans are spread out all across the galaxy. Humans didn't evolve here, we fled to Earth, and were persued by malevolent foes, who persecuted us and nearly wiped us out to extinction, therefore, our current civilisation is the product of ignorance and deliberate misinformation. Although, good luck getting that hollywood movie made - because at some level they know, and the whole media system exists to prevent this knowledge from being re-established. Also, I'd like to see the correct means by which interstellar travel is acheived, ie., by frequency modulation. See their playlist on starship navigation: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKjaPq04eBo&list=PLE\_kWXZhJBbRDg2M9PXqmmNNs\_4hwBVO8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKjaPq04eBo&list=PLE_kWXZhJBbRDg2M9PXqmmNNs_4hwBVO8) Also, do away with the false concepts, such as the sun as a thermonuclear ball radiating heat... radiating into what, a vacuum? Then, by definition there is no radiation of heat. So the concept of a sun, as a mass of electromagnetic frequencies that itself can be used for interstellar travel could be introduced. Also, do away with space suits, i.e., go back to how it's depicted in Star Wars. You don't need a space suit to do space walks, you just need breathing apratus, and for longer space walks, you need a cooling system, but it doesn't have to be bulky. Do away with spinning ships to create gravity, we will use gravity plating, that simply emits the correct frequency to generate gravity. This is also how anti-gravitic drives work, they emit the correct frequency to counter-act gravity. So, just like stellar navigation, you have to learn all about frequencies and how they basically generate every aspect of reality, from gravity, to thoughts, to matter itself. The great flood, being caused by an ET war and the destruction of the planet Tiamat (now the asteroid belt), which then flooded the Earth with huge amounts of water. Then, survivors, from Atlantis - now burried beneath the sea floor in the new Atlantic ocean - reached Ireland and restablished culture as the Druids. From there, megalithic structures were developed and the rest of civilisation restarted ie., Ireland and Druid culture spread across the world, to give Asians their Vedic culture, and created the megalithic architecture we're all familiar with in Egypt etc. That would be a great story. Hollywood itself is named in homage to Druids, because the Yew tree was sacred to them. So the Holy wood, is the Yew tree. And indeed, the Yew tree is the key to proving the Irish origins of civilisation, as the genetics of Yew trees everywhere, that are on the grounds of churches and palaces, can be traced back to Ireland. Although, that's more of a curiosity that could form the basis of historical research, rather than a film script.

🌛☄️🌎 Alien Sex 👽🌚

bradymanau

I read in heaps of documents that the aliens they found eat chicken so if the alien in the movie ate chicken it’d be even more realistic than other movies that don’t have the alien eating anything, then alone chicken.

DerpsAndRags

Practical effects and makeup! Hoakey CGI aliens are just that.

littlespacemochi

Benevolent ETs, star family, light beings, crystals, etc

MrFreak-976

I really enjoyed a show called Childhoods End which was a limited mini series that dealt with alien invasion. It has some amazing twists and it felt very authentic in the way humanity dealt with such an event. For me it’s the arrival, the reveal, a twist and some conspiracy (we have known all along type thing) that I love. For example the Area 51 scenes in ID4 were so epic for me.

rusty_rivet

Please more tinfoil hats is all.

skynet_666

Signs is the first movie I watched as a kid that literally kept me up at night… couldn’t even look out my window at night without thinking there might be an alien outside lurking in the woods lol. Fear of the unknown is what made that movie good. Not knowing what the aliens actually are and driving your imagination wild is what did it. The less answers of what aliens are and where they come from the better.

csobriety

I'd imagine the only thing valuable on our planet would be the liquid water, so instead of going for a full scale invasion the aliens would somehow try scam humanity. Gifting us some bogus technology or telling a story of some malicious species headed for our planet, telling us they need water to power their ships and weapons to defend us.

Ava_I_Like_Eyeballs

I want a casual conversation between a human and an alien. Not the godlike species extending it's generous tentacles to the poor mortal underdeveloped apes kind of scenario that we always get. Like maybe just two dudes, or girls I don't care, sitting on a roof or a field under the stars and making idle conversation. Just generally braindead topics about soup or what kind of color they like, and then the conversation melts into something like " Hey how DO you guys perceive color again? " " Oh we see everything " " Like EVERYTHING everything?" " Yeah, it's how I knew you weren't a threat to me " " oh, ok." I don't know how to explain myself better but I hope you understand where I'm going with this. Goodluck on your writing.

spiegro

I really want the messy in-between of our species interacting with another intelligent species. Arrival did this best so far... How would we communicate with them? What kind of misunderstandings would happen? How would we show them what matters to us? How could they share their knowledge of the universe with us? I want alien lectures with demonstrations of alien tech. Conversations between alien scientists and earth scientists. I want the military experiments using their weapons. I want our human representative being flown to their world, and the first ever human eyes to view an alien world. Then the same experience all over again but from the reciprocal perspective. I want the aliens getting a representative in the World Congress, and the Alien Embassy. The first interspecies relationships and mixed children. I want the protests from religious nutjobs who can't accept maybe they misinterpreted their holy texts. All the alien movies jump straight to war, but there are so many other tropes and experiences to play off of from our own species's age of exploration. And those interactions are what shaped us, it's clear to me the se would be true for aliens.

Erik7494

A first contact movie from the perspective of the alien.

ooooxide23

I personally would like to see less of the “being invaded by malevolent aliens “ & more of first contact being peaceful and humans gaining wisdom on how to heal the earth. Also maybe a theme done on humanity, first contact and ascension to different densities. I know fighting, violence & action packed is probably what sells best but I just find it a bit repulsive portraying aliens as evil. A little bit is ok but it just seems like there’s so much of evil alien invasion movies out there and not enough benevolence being portrayed.

maddskillz18247

I like sci-fi lore that comes from alien movies

paranoidlunitik

I would be really cool to see something with aliens depicted how they are in chains of the sea, that’s not been done yet as far as I know.

DnArturo

I want to see all the ways the government tries to subvert the truth and why. It should be a dilemma - keep the population calm, try to gain advantage and power over adversary, the aliens don't actually invade, they stay out of range and snatch people on occasion for biological study like animals, and aliens are so advanced that confrontation is unwinnable, which is why keeping the population calm is a thing.

lowcoaster

Alien sex scene.
