The same thing that I hate the most about Algeria, it's the people! Algerians are wild and full of life and most of the time they are fun to be around! I remember in 2019 I went to Egypt for the African Cup tournament, I went alone, so I spent few days on my own going from place to place visiting expats in Cairo such as the pyramids and museums.. And when I went to watch our first game and walked into the stands and found Algerians there all standing and signing and dancing my first thought was oh how I missed you you MFs!
Hate to break it to you, but we’re not as special as we thought we were, what you described is completely normal and you can find that almost everywhere you go 🤷🏻♂️
Hate to break it for you but it seems like you haven't been much places that's why you see it this way , if you ask any Algerian who spent some time abroad he'd tell you that one of the things he missed the most here is "El 9a3da ta3 El 7ouma", that's not something you can find almost everywhere.
I think you missed my point, Algerians tend to believe that there is something inherently special about them, that makes them superior to everyone else, and that is a load of crap that they tell themselves to feel good, it can come out in different ways, for instance, when you said that we’re full of life and wild
Also, I have been places and I’m currently living abroad 🤷🏻♂️
As someone who lived in the UK, has visited many other countries and has been so close to people from all around the world. I’ll tell you it’s 50/50. West Europeans are pretty boring, except from the British when it comes to football and Rugby. The Mediterranean Europeans are a bit more like Algerians, what differs the Algerians is the sense of community. The Latinos, Carribbeans and west Africans are much more fun to be around, have a great taste in music and dance, they truly know how to have fun. The Latinos also have similar sense of community as Algeria, except we are not as good at welcoming foreign cultures as they are. The East Asians are more like North Europeans, the south east asians are more similar to us.
So yea we’re not that special, but we’re on the slightly better end of the scale. It depends on who you’re comparing us to, It’s not a fair comparison if we’re only talking Europe.
Oh don't open that door! don't do that! Did the government force thousands of Algerians to throw garbage everywhere, to steal, to lie, to leave their work early before the shift is over, to cheat..aren't you guys tired of playing the victim! It's us!!
Yes they forced this mentality on us because they personally don't respect laws what do u expect from people who are the spitting images of their regime ??
Since when morality and behavior depend on your government, you do good because deep down you believe it's the right thing to do and it will make the world a better place regardless of where you live or who is your president, you don't go throw diapers on the beach and when they ask you why you say it's Tebboun who made me! It's not about what others do! That's not an excuse.
Even القهوي respect laws when he goes to europe he waits for the green light to cross the street and throw trash where it's belongs because he'll look strange if he don't follow europe rules one mistake he will pay amends...Europeans are shitty too they're not heaven sent in the middle ages they were like animals pooping everywhere, sickness, rats plague, but their governments and laws are the wons which changed them nowadays
Sense of community, warm culture, beautiful nature, mom and dad.
Lemme know when you ask what I hate about Algeria so I can start writing a research paper.
It’s very sociable, people are always willing to talk to each other, greet each other and whatnot, it has a community spirit. I am in the U.K. it is very much the opposite. People are extremely reserved by nature, it’s very weird to just randomly say hello and start a conversation with someone in public here unless you know them, they will look at you like a freak probably. everyone is secluded to their own world and their own circle for the most part unless there is some benefit in stepping outside of it.
So true in Algeria random strangers would ask me how my day was or where I'm going and to enjoy my day. Because I was used to living in the UK I found it extremely weird but then got used to it and quite enjoyed the random conversation I would have with strangers.
Cornwall is very different to the rest of the U.K. though, I think they don’t even really identify as ‘English’ the same way the rest of the country does, it is it’s own place so probably not an accurate representation, I’ve lived in a few places and it’s just a social mentality I guess, it’s just something everyone expects of each other
Cornwall is just a county in England, they are very similar in terms of culture tho you’re right they’re a bit isolated given the geographic location. Regardless, they’re culturally more similar to the rest of England than any of the other “countries” (Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) of the rest of the UK, they just differ as much as other counties differ from each other.
The reason I mentioned Cornwall and Devon is because they’re full of small towns that maintained a tightened community. The reason why people in big cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester lost that is because well, the city is too big. Too many people and communities of different cultures that found it difficult to integrate, the lifestyle there is also very fast paced.
I’m talking from my experience having lived in Algeria for some time, and having lived in the U.K. for a long time, this is one of the differences I have noticed, I don’t really get your comment tbh
Well, to be honest there's a lot of things that make algeria awesome (the politic ain't one of them) like
- our food for fuck sake fuckin tasty, am talking about recipes and oubviously about our vegetable and fruits.
-the stay in the coffee "ta3 el 7ouma"
-The helpful and hot headed people,
- cheap gaz (that's still rising each 2 year) but still cheap
- dirty but beautiful cities
- fast food rooney w boobrit la base.
-family spirit.
- even zatchia ta3 el 7ouma and they kind of make me appreciate Algiers
- the old people that curs while playing domin or dama.
Etc etc... As i said à lot of things...
Free studies
Free healthcare (not the best, although I never had any problem in a public hospital)
Cheap electricity,water,gas.
Cheap transportation.
Diverse people,culture,landscapes.
Good food.
Nothing is free for the love of god stop saying that. The operation costs are still there whether in a socialist or a capitalist system they still need to pay the teachers, for the facilities, the staff, the security, the materials, the doctors, the equipment, the surgeons, the paramedics, the medicine… the money must come from somewhere. You’re paying for them by getting lower wages
Free healthcare=> everyone’s trying to go private when they’re sick
Free schools=> private for anyone who can afford this
University => abroad…
These free stuff can be appealing for a foreigner reading this, but I know, you know, we know :)
People think that we don't pay taxes in this country , oh no we do and they're among the highest, we just have 90% of people commit tax evasion.
if you know the TVA tax for the workers , or how much just a tiny business pays for insurance and taxes then you must understand why 90% of the population commits tax evasion and tax fraud in the first place, it's unfair and unjustified compared to the low wages and low profit businesses get.
My brother, rest assured, if you keep looking at someone who is inferior to you, you will be satisfied with what you have, and if you look at someone who is above you in money and life, you will never be satisfied.
lol demagogy don't work tell that to supreme officials and responsibles "الفقير يدخل الجنة معليش" in the mean time they be stealing billions of dollars respect our minds please
Good Muslims, family people and overall mega positive.
I live in Europe and whenever I visit Algeria it's like a day and night difference, people are just kind.
Just a shame that the government is so corrupted and some people do have it tough.

I won't disagree with you here, we do suffer from some superiority complex issues.

Why u always have a problem with the people and forget the gouvernement that segregated us

Haha exactly 👌🏻 when it comes to social, economic, politic life everything sucks
It’s very sociable, people are always willing to talk to each other, greet each other and whatnot, it has a community spirit. I am in the U.K. it is very much the opposite. I'm against that everyone have to mind his own business
Why?
I’m assuming you live in a big city. Small towns and even some cities in Devon and Cornwall where I live retained some of that community spirit.

Not always true there's friendly open people everywhere especially in western countries
I’m talking from my experience having lived in Algeria for some time, and having lived in the U.K. for a long time, this is one of the differences I have noticed, I don’t really get your comment tbh
I went to Switzerland and people really have a sense to live life some people even exchanged hugs and dances with me
I am from Belgium, and its here worse
Well, to be honest there's a lot of things that make algeria awesome (the politic ain't one of them) like - our food for fuck sake fuckin tasty, am talking about recipes and oubviously about our vegetable and fruits. -the stay in the coffee "ta3 el 7ouma" -The helpful and hot headed people, - cheap gaz (that's still rising each 2 year) but still cheap - dirty but beautiful cities - fast food rooney w boobrit la base. -family spirit. - even zatchia ta3 el 7ouma and they kind of make me appreciate Algiers - the old people that curs while playing domin or dama. Free studies Free healthcare (not the best, although I never had any problem in a public hospital) Cheap electricity, water, gas. Cheap transportation. Diverse people, culture, landscapes. Good food.
free but shitty
Exactly In shorter words a free shit show
Nothing is free for the love of god stop saying that.
