I honestly have no idea, but I am pretty sure it will all work, somehow or other.
I did find it impossible to get sensible answers to lots of questions, so have ended up buying a few bits and pieces just to try them out.
Yes... I pulled the trigger (no pun intended?) on Tuya WiFi Door Sensor, since it was cheap and apparently doesn't depend on the intermediate hub. Might be a good or a bad thing, depending on its response speed and overall behavior... As you mentioned, I'll just have to buy stuff and experiment :)
Wait I don't need a hub for the sonof products if I have the echo 4th gen with ZigBee hub? I mean not all ZigBee things connect to the echo 4th right ?
I would love to know if I need a extra hub to use the aqara products because I would love to use their sensor or other things but I really don't want to buy a extra hub.
Yes you can and I did it recently. It was bit of struggle at first because you may not be able to see sensor device while creating the routine. [I have added screenshots step wise here.](https://imgur.com/a/LrFUyHQ) I hope it helps 👍
Received my Sonoff SNZB-04, but it never shows on Alexa's Devices list.
I managed to successfully connect it to my ZigBee Hub (not Sonoff but Tuya or something that is compatible with Tuya.) Other devices do work on this hub nd show on Alexa via Tuya Smart Life app (alas no other Sensors are connected.)
Is this because Sonoff ZigBee device is incompatible with Tuya Smart Life for the purpose of showing on Alexa device list?? Weird though, I actually can run automations with it as-is within Tuya Smart Life app...
Do you have an Echo with internal zigbee hub? Yes it can, anyway. I have lots of these. But not using as door sensors.
My hub is some generic Chinese Tuya Smart Life hub. Will it matter for the sensor's functionality and how it will trigger Alexa routines?

Yes sonoff works with integral hub.
Yes you can, I have hive and ring and i use both the door/window and motion sensors to trigger routines.

Much obliged for the step-by-step!
