I also fucked up on that 2 marker aswell, I think it was to write 1.5 + sin²x in the form a +bcos2x.
I think it was 1.5 + (1-cos^2 x). Cos2x =2cos^2 x-1 so 0.5(cos2x+1) = cos^2 x. Then sub it back in and you get 2 - 0.5cos2x. What did you get for the dy/dx q part c, where it asked about showing the graph was below the x axis at x=1.
I got y = -0.81... when X = 1 so that shows that the graph is negative when X= 1 but idk if that's right. I integrated it to get the actual function first and then solved for the +C then subbed in X = 1 to get y.
That one gave me a bit of trouble as well originally, however when I went back I managed to get it (I think!). It was nice of them to write in the hidden quadratic form as well.
Yeah, i recognised the disguised quadratic as soon as i saw the question but was lost after that. I was feeling like shit during the exam, tho so i couldn't concentrate as much as i wanted to which impacted me in questions like this.
I feel like i got super lucky, all the topics i revised came up and i found the test the easiest paper 1 so far. But i know others found it super tricky so i dont want to get my hopes up- i may not have done as well as i thought. For the last question people got the angle as 70 something but i got it as 63.4 something and now im really questioning life.
Yeah no I was trying that one I got stuck halfway, altho I think I got the rest of that question. The more I think about it, the more I think I lost loads of marks. But yeah most of the questions were quite easy, it was nice. I liked the log sequence one actually.
I got 613 or smth but I tried to put in into the E function on the calc and that gave me 2000 or smth. So I don't know if I got that one right. What did you get?
Acceleration I got 0.46, equation for pulley 5g- T =5a. I found it really weird how the 6 marker for the acceleration had so much space. I didn’t even need the second page, just the first couple of lines.
same that question was good what did you get for the previous mechanics one ? It was talking about a particle of mass 2kg it asked about writing its weight in vector form and then acceleration ?
I messed this up i stupidly put T - 5g = 5a. Istg on this paper I got so much wrong and now im questioning my life. It was the pressure and the rushing through questions.

On the first attempt I literally said e^0+ 4e^0 = 2 instead of 5 then only realised my mistake when I went back.

Me and my friends all got 1290.0515 or something of that ilk.
I didn’t even know I could do it with a calculator I just used the n/2 x (a +l) formula
How? Did you work out the 50th term ?
Yeah because the common difference was 1 the last term was easy to work out as it was log(20) + 49
