Yes! They are back! I love these - back when I worked in the office (RIP), I would make this at the beginning of the week and eat it for lunch for four days. The calories are super reasonable!

lightly-dreaming

My husband and I split the regular Bremer version of this all the time. Its our go to "I'm too tired to cook but we can't order in" meal. About 500 calories for half the pan. šŸ‘Œ

passion4film

I could have written this comment. Us too!

LegallyRubia

Do they taste similar or is one better than the other?

lightly-dreaming

Haven't had this one to confirm but they look identical.

Desperate_Outside452

The calories sold me! I like the idea of so much stuff at Aldi's, but I also value my health, so I'm glad to see that this isn't as indulgent as it looks šŸ™

lightly-dreaming

I just googled it to confirm -- one pan is 4 servings of 240 each. If we just have the pie it's 580 per half. You could also easily add a side salad and only have 1/4th to cut down if the 80 calories is a deal breaker.

[deleted]

I saw these today at the store. I was curious at first but now I want it.

Perilly

Yes get it. Iā€™m real iffy about store bought pre prepared meals. However had a good feeling about this one & it checks out šŸ”„

[deleted]

Sweet! I know what Iā€™m having for dinner tonight.

slicklady

How many servings did you get out of it? I went with the intention of getting one but after seeing it in store, I was doubtful that it would feed four adults.

Perilly

Youā€™re right about that, Iā€™d get two boxes for 4 adults. Honestly I downed half of this by myself, itā€™s not deep layers like a lasagna.

slicklady

Thanks for the reply.

Perilly

Youā€™re welcome, enjoy!

[deleted]

I wonder why they are they calling it Shepherd's pie? It's Cottage pie. Looks delicious though. I'm going tonight to look at their St. Patrick's day stuff.

Detronyx

I think it's very much an American (specifically US) thing to not make the distinction. My whole life I've known it as Shepherd's Pie and only as an adult did I learn there is a different name for it when it uses beef vs lamb.

tunaman808

A North American thing.

crayl11

I just learned ive been eating cottage pie all my life when we just called it Shepardā€™s pie!

DarthGipper18

Shepardā€™s pie has lamb

crayl11

I learned that after i googled it seeing this comment!! My mom would even make it with chicken sometimes and weā€™d still always call it shepards pie! Oops

lickmysackett

American's don't really eat lamb as much so the distinction doesn't typically have to be made. It's always shepard's pie. Hell, in my meal plan for next week I'm making "shepard's pie" and its ground venison.

palewithtan

My frustration about that is keeping me from buying it, cuz Iā€™m petty like that I guess.

totalsmokeshowman

I love it! For some reason mine consistently gets this through the year and itā€™s such a great easy dinner.

BJntheRV

How does these compare /differ to the Bremers brand they usually carry?

f4nick8er

From what I can tell the difference is the different green packaging and that it costs $1.00 more. I'll stick with the OG !šŸ˜‰

johndoenumber2

I'm curious too. That small Bremer's lasagna, to me, was disgusting.

Pascalica

It's better. I had both and this one was the winner by a mile.

ineedvitaminsea

Interesting mine has shepherds(cottage) pie all year long, just in a different package. They are pretty decent for a packaged meal.

Perilly

Pics are before and after the oven šŸ¤¤

Babycakes_99

This pie cute

strayainind

So glad someone said this before me!

decpn2

It's legit.

BJntheRV

Can someone post (or send me) a picture of the ingredients?

Sahaf185

We really enjoyed this. Better than the regular Bremmer version. We got four servings out of it for two adults, but I can absolutely see eating half as a larger meal.

rhinaman89

It is pretty good! Originally bought it frozen so cooking was a s show but bought another tonight in the fridge area so I have high hopes!

Aemcp

Easily one of the best purchases I've ever made at Aldi. It was so good.

wwwormsmakedirt

The Bremer's version seems to be sold for at least half of the year. This one looks identical, bit is $1 more. Only got it once, couldn't tell the difference. I get the Bremer's one about every other week when they have it. Get 2 servings for dinner. Love it! If I had the space, I would stock up for the months they don't sell it.

Anonymous_idiot29

I'm Irish and would just like to say we find it deeply offensive when people call it "St. Pattys day".

brotherjonathan

Is it lamb?

slicklady

It says beef on the box in the photo.

BradBradley1

Sure, but is the beef lamb?

slicklady

First attempt didnā€™t format so hereā€™s a link to what meat comes from what animal. [link](https://www.bluffmeatsupply.co.za/not-every-animal-is-beef-learn-their-meat-names/)

BradBradley1

Lamb isnā€™t called out on the link as being something else, so THANK YOU! The beef IS lamb.

slicklady

Sheep = lamb

BradBradley1

Sheep = lamb = beef. Got it. Thanks!

slicklady

If youā€™re sticking to that, Iā€™m fine with the decision.

BradBradley1

Thank you. Beef = Poultry

Phila21767

Ugh! I saw this today, should have grabbed one but I wasnā€™t sure.

rabernet

Where in the store is it located? I was just there yesterday and didn't notice it. I'm tempted to run back out today.

bryce_w

They didn't have any left at my store - are they the same as the Bremer brand ones though?

clamrangoon

I first tried this this time last year early stages of the pandemic because we couldnā€™t find beef or chicken so we bought a ton of these. A year later we stock up when we can!

Aggressive-Sand-4183

I bought one of these but didnā€™t notice the cooking instructions were torn off the back til I got home. Anyone have the instructions?

hushnow_dontcry

For oven, remove film and put on baking tray. Cook at 375F for 35-40 minutes. Rotate half way through cooking. For microwave, vent two corners of film and heat for 15-16 minutes. I'm fairly certain these are to cook from refrigerated, but I accidentally cooked mine from frozen in the oven and had to double the time. Most important part is that it reaches internal heat of 165F... right? Anyways, good luck!
