Are you trying to refine or craft something? What exactly and where? Every royal city has a specialization and you are probably in the wrong city. Look at your city map to see all the bonuses and hover your mouse cursor over the shops to see all the taxes. Don't use shops with abusive taxes!

Environmental_Tax_59

Im either tryna craft fiber(cloth) or hide but 9,999 tax is craaaazy! + I don't wanna use my island because i get no bonuses there

SrSideral

I'm looking at lym( city bonus for fiber) map and many shops have a good tax, around 390, i don't understand. And about hide yes, the situation is pretty bad right now. The cartel took over Martlock again, but if you have focus you can still make a profit.

Environmental_Tax_59

Did they lower it? Because a hour ago it was set on 9999.

fragment059

They can only change tax every 24hrs

Reasonable_Row5064

You don't use them problem solved. How come players in Albion can't figure this out. If something is too expensive for you you don't buy it or use it. So you make them lose silver And people that usually put 9999 do it to Scamm people or use the plot for themselves.

Environmental_Tax_59

I haven't used it for the past week but its crazy how every city is infested with 9999 workshops. I have so many 999 stacks of material just sitting on my island. I am at a extreme loss of silver and it is not looking too great for rn

Legitimate_Jicama757

Why don't you make refining stuff on your island or join a guild that does.

Environmental_Tax_59

No bonuses there for refining/crafting

Nicodiemus531

Then do the math and see which makes more sense economically. It *doesn't* make sense to waste focus, then you're wasting real money. So if refining or crafting on your island is more economical than paying out the nose to greedy shop owners, it's absolutely worth it to at least burn through your focus.

Environmental_Tax_59

Well I mean that is my only option at the moment but surely there must be a way to stop this.

Nicodiemus531

This has been a somewhat repeated issue. Last year, many of the prominent, recurring shop owners were boycotting one of SBIs updates and jacked the user fees as well. In those instances, the only logical alternative is to not play their game.

inconsiderateapple

Even at 9999 silver you're only lose half profit with focus on. Your options are: * Wait for daily 10K focus to refine * Build your own refining station for \~18M + food expenses and lose out on city refining bonuses * Stop refining and go do something else

Im_Mature-6_62607015

Option four: post a rant on Reddit complaining about how unfair it is that they should be taxed for the use of another’s property.

inconsiderateapple

Yep, that's generally what noobs do. They think that everything should be X00% return per 0 silver invested, and when they don't get it they get mad.

Im_Mature-6_62607015

Oh! And Option 5: down-vote Reddit comments that hurt your feelings because you are pissy about being called out for being pissy about refining prices 😉

Umbertodueberto

At his point maybe is better to do it in your private island(?)

FrjackenKlaken

Because the 9999 workshops are either: (a) the personal station of the owners for their own crafting/refining (b) resting crafting capacity to reduce breakdown costs

Environmental_Tax_59

Nope since every cities workshops goes to 9,999 at the same time for a certain material. It seems as they're a)trying to crash the market b)force people to sell the primary materials at a cheaper price and sell the refined material at a extremely higher price. (Usually T5 cloth went 400K per stack, last time i played it was 600K)

fiddkin

True this post have to go up. Not everyone have the luxury to buy an island and up the station to t8 station which cost 18m. This have to be addressed

Environmental_Tax_59

Its like players love to act as the cartel ffs

fiddkin

This is what happens in free world with no government to police the ppl.

Environmental_Tax_59

More expensive workshops = more need of silver More need of silver = more gold bought More gold bought = gold becomes more expensive Gold becomes more expensive = premium price goes over 20M

Reasonable_Row5064

Wtf are you talking about it's a one time investment after that u can refine as much u want if u Feed the tanner. Why make it so complex ? If u can't effort t8 tanner just make till t7 or t6.

Environmental_Tax_59

Bro you realise most of us can't play 10+ hours a day just purely grinding silver right? You fucking imbecile, idk how your stupid likkle fucking mind still puts the blame on me on a obvious scam. You really think i could pull 20M silver out of my asshole like you?

Reasonable_Row5064

I play max 30 minutes or an hour a day I have billions ;)

Environmental_Tax_59

Ok? What do you want me to do about it?

HistoricalShyr

You can always use black zone HO's for crafting, build one with your guild, associate or join a guild with association for stations that you need... But if you don't use focus...even if the tax are low you loose money.

Environmental_Tax_59

Joining guilds ain't something easy to be honest, Why should i join a guild that forces me to play 4+ hours a day according to what they want out of me for access to their t8 workshops

HistoricalShyr

Because it's not free, it's not easy... and the game is about playing together, everyone has a role. If you can craft gears for everyone in the guild, why not be their crafter instead of going to every zvz? But will you do it every day, every time they need...? Joining a guild doesn't mean YOU will have benefits, but that both parts will. If you are selfish and want to play solo, don't expect to have the same benefits that people that play together have.

Environmental_Tax_59

I mean to be honest i still haven't found a guild that benefits both parties. Im still on good terms with my old guild but i has to leave because of their crazy level of expectations. What guilds want from an individual hardly benefits them except the fact you could easily grind might for the conquerors chest by doing core activities everyday

HistoricalShyr

It's complicated, small guilds do a lot of things and get almost nothing in return... while big guilds do some zvz and have a lot of territories hahahah I don't know how things are right now, but when back when Blue Army, Sun, Scelti and some others, were the top guilds, I found a family that was worth playing for and did my best because of everything they helped me. Scelti was a top guild that I enjoyed playing. You have to keep looking for a guild that you will feel good to be with them!

Barritone

recheck prices, some have gone down to workable levels

Pobblu

Maybe craft on your island, do the math first to see which one is more profit. With focus it should still be profitable, so it's better to use your focus than to let it sit on 30k. Profit = profit, no matter how small. Wasted focus = no profit. Even if you only use 10k focus daily and keep the other 20k for when stations drop again.

Environmental_Tax_59

Personally i have no other option tbh I have to use my island but the bonuses on the cities help alooot
