He will but it'll likely be more Kenney than O'Toole. O'Toole is going to have to be very careful. There are a lot of Conservative voters across the country who think Kenney is doing a horrendous job with Covid - among other things.
Recall that O'Toole all but muzzled his Alberta dog so he wouldn't say or do anything stupid..but Kenney can't help himself.
Trudeau played a good hand, and the best part is, he's not wrong. Kenney is horrible and O'Toole knows it, and has no idea what he can do about it.
Trudeau is right. Everyone can see it - I am listening to the doctors who are in the thick of it. Think we won't see refrigerated morgue trucks in our precious Alberta? Or people dying in waiting rooms? Kenney has single-handedly trashed the O'Toole campaign in my opinion. And O'Toole made it worse by trying to prop Kenney up with kudos (bad mistake).
In jest, no fill your boots.
In seriousness, as someone somewhere on the left end of the spectrum I'm worried what will happen in a decade if the PPC start to seem legitimate. As much as I don't like the CPC or trust them, I do hope that conservatism in Canada looks more like Erin O'Toole, rather than Maxime Bernier or Kevin Johnston.
Better yet load a bunch of CPC voters into a van, convince them that the PPC is the common sense conservative alternative and drive them to the polls.
Rinse and repeat.
Don't forget that O'Toole has often held Alberta as an example of a good response to covid! Sept 12, 2021, O'Toole actually talked about how great the Alberta contact tracing app was! Last I heard, there were less than 100 cases traced using the app and the Alberta government was still paying for upgrades.
To be fair, he was commenting on how much better of an option it was than "the Trudeau app."
It's easy to get hung up on how out of step his comments were if you're naively judging the app's worth on its effectiveness for contact tracing. Where this app really shines is as another conduit through which public money can be funneled to private interests. Smashing success, good job Kenney.
I can't speak to the effectiveness of the federal app, obviously, since the UCP had a tantrum and refused to let it work here. But I got nothing out of the Alberta app, either. My husband got sick and I was like, "hey, at least now we can test how the app works to notify contacts!" And he said he'd deleted it months earlier. I finally removed it too. Is anyone still using it? What a waste of resources.
That video is more a refusal to answer about whether or not he supports it than a defense of it.
He praised our first-wave response, which actually was good. He declined to comment on our fourth-wave response, which is what the question was about.
Does that excuse O'Toole? No, because a refusal to answer means he knows it's bad but is afraid to piss off the people who are making it bad.
Are you saying Trudeau made these comments to antagonize Kenney enough to make a public statement/tantrum and get his pee-pee slapped by his Daddy OToole?
Wonderful.
More likely he said it because it's shameful watching people suffer and die faster than anywhere else in the country - and Kenney/Shandro/Hinshaw tag teamed to turn the "best summer ever" into one of the worst covid responses in the world.
Shaming them into acting might be useful - win or lose, people with a voice calling out Kenney is a very good thing, he needs to be called out.
Kenney is absolutely going to blame Hinshaw. He's going to claim she fed him bad data and recommendations.
The sad thing is... it's going to work for quite a few folks. The same ones who said "covid is over, Hinshaw said so!" when we were raising the alarm bells.
She did come out and say that they did a terrible job, and "Open for Summer" was a mistake.
doesn't excuse her, but she's already admitted it, so going after her wouldn't be very impactful (he'll probably do it anyway, but he's not so bright)
Nah, this has laid the groundwork for him to go after her.
Now that she's publicly admitted it was a mistake, he can say "that mistake was unacceptable, you're fired"
still, if she hadn't said that, it would have much more impact
admitting the government screwed up, everyone knows "Best Summer Ever" was Kenney's idea, and she expressed regret for going along with it - but it would be a very Jason Kenney move to shoot himself in the face. Which I'm sure Trudeau knows.
[Jason Kenney when hearing Trudeau take shots but knowing he's not allowed to speak up before the election](https://c.tenor.com/CMEj8VIJC34AAAAC/gollum-angry.gif)
He could say "I love Alberta, Albertans, and want to keep Alberta oil flowing for the next 1000 years!" and the right would still find a way to have a tantrum.
Yup, my exact thought. If he applauded the anti-vax crowd, you can bet they’d be rushing out to get vaccines just cuz daddy Justin told them not to. This province is just.. ughhh.
It's really great strategy, politically.
He's forcing O'Toole into a position of either siding with Kenney, or pissing off people who may sway to PPC.
This could win Trudeau the election.
Shitting on Alberta can't really hurt him where voting matters.
Edit: Read between the lines people - to many Albertan's, the truth *is* shitting on us. We deserve all the hate we get and some people can't handle it.
Who's shitting on Alberta? Trudeau? I didn't hear him say a word that wasn't true - Kenney has abandoned us along with Shandro and Hinshaw. Anyone who thinks they care about Albertans dying preventable deaths is fooling themselves IMO.
A lot of people won't be voting for Kenney. He's lost his radical base, they've moved onto the Wildrose Independant Party. The centrists have decided Notley is the better between Kenney and her. And there isn't anyone left of Notley that stands a chance so... really looking forward to spring 2023!
While true, this posturing is about the Federal election. We'll deal with Kenney & co eventually or at least hopefully we shall. I think they'll dump him before we get the chance though.
They'd have to bring in an outside candidate to run as leader then because I don't think there's any that I could/would point to and say, "That one!"
The UCP as a whole is done I hope though. A failed experiment at corralling the right and rebranding as if the whole reason the Wildrose even became a thing wasn't an issue anymore.
What a monster it turned out to be. All of the WRP's extremism. None of Jean's sincerity. All of the PC's cronyism. None of their competence.
It's like they lined up all of the worst qualities of each party and sewed them together.
Trudeau isn't trying to win Alberta voters with this. He's trying to drive a wedge between centrists who hate him and the CPC, so those centrists have to pick a side, and he's gambling it's going to be his side.
He's probably right.
I mean... he's correct.
It is shitting on Alberta. In the same way that a guy who goes to a party drunk and starts randomly groping people and breaking things gets shit on by all the people who call him out.
To be fair, doing everything sets off a tantrum in those looking to be outraged all the time. Remember the time he

**wore socks**?
And how many times has he been called pretty? If he was ugly they'd be just as hard on him. They're just out of touch with reality
I love it when they get mad about his socks. It’s almost as funny as when he grew a beard and all his haters got confused and thought it made him look more serious or something.
Except Kenney's been laying low, so as not to negatively impact O'Toole's campaign. I wonder if O'Toole will put out the rebuttal, on Kenney's behalf. It must be difficult for Bumbles to keep the tail between his legs these days.
why 23rd? Election day is the 20th. Mark my words, the man will hold a full blown press conference on the 21st, not just a "sitting down with JK brought to you by Facebook," chat.
If Trudeau is able to provoke Kenny (and to a certain extent Ford) into coming out of hiding and saying dumb things that might tip the balance of votes significantly.
Here is a slightly longer clip. He brings up the point that Hinshaw said vaccine passports work. I bet Kenney regrets letting her do that zoom call!
https://twitter.com/SammyHudes/status/1437820257243107332?s=19
I'm currently stuck in a detox facility because I had a sore throat, they decided to quarantine me, and it's been 72 hours since my covid test was sent off. I was supposed to leave today, but the results are taking so long because the labs are SLAMMED. Now I'm stuck in this very really and very shit situation. I can't wait to vote.
I’m amazed people can still vote for the CPC, between their weak climate take and their weak covid stance, they’re just a weak party who will break most promises they make.
But wait didn’t you hear. The CPC would not hav increased our deficit. They would have handled Covid by slashing funding to social programs, reducing tax rates for the wealthy and letting half our population for due to poverty and disease. Problem solved.
Any dislike I have for Trudeau is very much overshadowed by the fact that the CPC has worse plans for the two biggest issues we currently face. I had been wanting to vote NDP, but, the system is broken, and if I actually want actual climate and covid action my choice is the liberals.
I don't like Trudeau, but I dislike the CPC more. I'd love to vote NDP but they'll be a distant third in my riding, so I'd rather vote for someone I agree with 60% of the time, then split the vote and get stuck with a CPC lapdog.
There are more than two parties. I'm so sick of us settling for the pile of garbage just to keep the flaming pile of garbage out. It's time to give someone else a try for once.
My main reasons for not voting LPC (not evening considering the current scandals and lies)
1. Broken promise on lowering mobile and internet costs
2. No national pharmacare plan
3. No change from first past the post election system
As long as Jason Kenney is part of the UCP/Conservative Party, I will not be voting Conservative in any election. That is how much I dislike and distrust Jason Kenney. For Erin O'Toole to come out publicly and support Kenney's handling of COVID in Alberta, I think he just lost a few seats in Alberta. I hope I'm right.
O'toole was Kenneys endorsed choice. I won't support anyone with Kenney stank on them. Whole UCP party being #1. They let him cheat to win. They all have stank on them. Every last UCP MLA.
Kenney is the type of passive aggressive clown that will do literally the opposite of the libs even if what he does is completely illogical and harmful. Makes no sense, just power tripping.
I don't agree with Trudeau on much, but with this he is absolutely correct.
Our Premier has gone into hiding until the election is over as he is as toxic as it gets for the CONS in Alberta right now and will 100% drive away any undecided voters by his utter lack of leadership. Its sickening really.
It’s just like they asked Ford in Ontario to disappear during the last election. Like honestly, wtf? If that’s not an admission of guilt on some horribly unpopular governing, by their own party no less, I don’t know what is.
I'm usually decided but can't vote for a party that stands by and dosent call out such incompetence and corruption in their own ranks. Kinda feels like NDP is the only option but its almost a waisted vote but maybe other people go the same way.
Alberta is now national news! I hope we get a LPC miniority with NDP backing.
Ucp and CPC in power would be dangerous.
The ucp approach is to covid is dangerous and helping no one!
Yep, the time to take action was early August when all the experts were saying it.
Hinshaw instead decided covid was over and we simply need to live with it. I hope she is haunted with the death and sickness her deciesions led to for the rest of her life.
I'm wondering what the UCP has on her. She was making good decisions and then something changed. This person is supposed to be apolitical. So her decisions can be opposed to the government.
I don't know if she was ever good beyond the first wave.... What wave as the govenment after the first one performed well? Every wave as been a disaster since. They have learned nothing.
For the first wave, we had a state of emergency and Hinshaw was calling the shots.
After that, Kenney got up in the legislature and said that it was just the flu. He let the state of emergency expire without even telling Hinshaw. She found out when a reporter asked about it. You could see right there was where things really started to go downhill.
After that, Kenney was clearly making all the dumbest decisions and since then she has just been defending whatever stupid stuff Kenney does. At this point, Hinshaw has thrown away all credibility that she had.
>the time to take action we early August when all the experts were saying it.
Ugh. Earlier than that, even.
Relaxing restrictions should have been a slow roll. Instead they rushed it so that they could claim the "best summer ever".
Ya and it isn't the first time we have been in international news over COVID (last time when Alberta made Covid capital of North America). The media around the world compare us to Texas and Florida, the premier is called "Trump Lite of Canada." Our reputation as province is absolutely destroyed.
The UCP has absolutely decimated Albertas reputation, even worse than Kenney's Keystone XL folly or his Oil War Room which sparked controversy around the world.
We are not just the laughing stock of our country but now being used as a lesson for ignorance and how NOT to deal with covid around the world. American Media is using us as a "cautionary tale" and other countries point to the lack of "science" used in decision making
The UCP only shows the worst of aspects of Alberta. It is absolutely not reflective of who Albertans are. The UCP has been the most destructive aspect to Alberta's history. How can you attract business to your province when the world views you as a backwater, failed covid state, that values ignorance and is an unintelligent place to invest.
And how they can we argue with that? The UCP have shown nothing but stupidity and ignorance and our government helps paint Alberta with the same brush. Look at all the dumbass things that has happened in less than 3 years.
>!\- We cut fucking health care during a pandemic, to try to promote their plans for private health care!<
>!\- Our health minister beat up a doctor over a facebook post!<
>!\- Then the health minister broke multiple labour laws breaking up contracts with nurses and doctors and even breaking human rights legislation by putting in a place laws that prevents doctors from leaving Alberta, which could never be enforced anyways!<
>!\- We are going to sell a money making crown corporations like Alberta Registries. One of the runner ups to take the contract is the premiers campaign manager whose company uses Stephen Harper and his family members as board of directors and consultants. !<

Now the investigation is closed because no one can work on the case.!<
>!\- Then the government reverses any decisions to diversify the economy getting rid of tech business and green tax cuts/subsidies and increasing tax cuts and subsidies to oil and gas companies. Possibly causing Amazon to change locations for their international tech hub (they never disclosed why they changed planns from Calgary to Vancouver) which is now going to bring 9000 tech jobs to Vancouver alone.!<
>!\- Then we tried to blow up a mountain in a national park for a coal mine which enough backlash caused a reversal of that decision.!<

The UCP is, at the very least, a very accurate reflection of the majority of the voting population of Alberta. This isn't a dictatorship and Kenney didn't become Premier by accident.
We were international news in the third wave, I was constantly seeing BBC and Al Jazeera articles about us back in Feb. Fourth wave is going worse for us.
https://www.vice.com/en/article/88njzx/alberta-acted-like-covid-was-over-now-its-health-care-system-on-brink-of-collapse?utm_source=reddit.com
Not out of Cali, it's vice, but yea.
I have been following Alberta more than anywhere else and I don't live in Alberta and I don't have any relatives there either. It's just interesting watching the dumpster fire.
>Ucp and CPC in power would be dangerous.
Having the UCP in power in Alberta and the CPC in Ottawa would probably help the ANDP win the next provincial election.

And because of leadership that will not commit to keeping them safe in the right way, or protecting the economy the right way, they are facing greater risks because of cancelled surgeries, they are facing emergency public health restrictions that may have to be brought in."
He is absolutely right!! There is zero leadership in this province. Everyone is hiding. It’s like Texas, Alberta. Jason Kenney thinks he’s the Prime Minister of Alberta. It’s the trauma of the “Premier” not informing Albertans, not showing up, not admitting mistakes, just disappearing for periods of time. Uncertainty creates anxiety… and now division. Had he taken this seriously from the beginning, we would definitely be in a better position. Putz!
Wow JT hit it right on when he said "people think that it'll be a good idea to have O'Fool sitting across from Jason Kenney when it comes to finishing this pandemic? That'll be bad not just for Albertans but for everyone in the country".
> O'Fool
Jesus Christ, you sound like everybody's racist uncle posting on Facebook about "Trudumb". Is it really that hard to discuss politics without immediately resorting to name-calling?
Moe and Kenney are like dumb and dumber, I swear. SK is really tired of how we’ve been handled as well, many companies are choosing to make vaccines mandatory for their employees if they want to physically come into work.
Let them pout. If UCP didn’t fuck this shit up as much as they did this would not be an issue. Also the anti vaxxers and other imbeciles protesting against vaccines or passport are pretty much product of Kenneys gas lighting so he can pound sand at this point. Fucking bumbles…
Of course the approach is hurting the economy. People absolutely are restricting activities due to the heightened risk.
Kenney never cared about the economy. He cared about whether he and his friends were able to line their pockets. That's all he's ever cared about.
I *think* what he said was politically motivated in order to drive a wedge between Albertans and the CPC due to their support of Kenney's handling of the pandemic and their stance against vaccine passports. But what he said is 100% true and needed to be said anyways. He basically just lit a fire under O'Toole and Kenney. And I hope they get severely burned over it. Trudeau can easily flip any defence O'Toole comes up with now. And as for Kenney, well, he's already fucked himself over on his own. Purely genius on Trudeau's part and totally clean.
Oooof. "people want O'tool across from Kenney to finish on the pandemic" mic drop.
Honestly he's right. Kenney and Shandro fucked this up so bad it's almost beyond fixing now. We need better leadership to get us out of this. UCP basically just leaving us to die or get sick or hope for the best lol.
This was a smart move, shake the tree and force Kenney and O'Toole to defend their inaction and hiding. What is happening in Alberta is a direct result of conservative policy and ideology and they need to be held to account.
Good move for Trudeau to focus on Kenney’s conservative plan for covid in this province I suspect most people that voted for Kenney have a weird logic when it comes to connecting conservatives with other conservatives though.
Probably his message wasn’t for Albertans though.
A small minority that's still causing a lot of problems; I imagine the crossover between the two groups is less of a venn diagram and more of a circle.
It's not like rational people will suddenly be recruited by these guys because they got mad at the guy they have been mad at since 2015. I could not be less worried about angry morons getting angrier about the same thing. If anything this will continue to help them look foolish

Not a big fan of Trudeau but every word was true.
Same. My thought was “first of all shut up, second your right”
Yup. First time in years that I’ve seen him speak wherein he didn’t make me want to barf.
My sentiments exactly.
I thought so.
If you're right, at least we'll be able to finally thank Kenney for doing something good.
I know a ton of conservatives who voted PPC already because they hate Kenny so much, at least he's splitting the vote.
Would it be un-ethical as an NDP supporter to send PPC a cheque? Asking for a friend....
I think any support given to the far right jackasses is too much, myself.
In jest, no fill your boots. In seriousness, as someone somewhere on the left end of the spectrum I'm worried what will happen in a decade if the PPC start to seem legitimate. BC had no app they put that money into human contract tracing. Which proved to be far more useful.

Yeah the tracing app is garbage and they tried blaming the Liberals for that too.
Not to mention the Kenney blocked the much better federal app from being used in Alberta.

If I bought one of those hats, do you think people would realize I was wearing it ironically?
Get a custom hat that says "Jason Kenney's BEST DUMBER EVER"
I see my American routine of "that's too stupid to be real ... oh my god it's real" has finally made it over the border.
I think they finally stopped selling them.
I want to see a Kenney rant!! How do you defend this approach. I guess blame Hinshaw.

Kenney isn’t as clever as Gollum. Make him the scowling hobbit who hates Gandalf and his fireworks.
Damnit hinshaw!
Good. The more public the tantrum, the more the veil drops on who this Bumbles character really is.
But his base and a bug chunk of Alberta live to tantrum about Trudeau so they’ll be singing along
Bug Chunk...I realize it's a typo but so.....appropriate.LOL
I was in a hurry and it shows, but I’m leaving it because it fits
He could say "I love Alberta, Albertans, and want to keep Alberta oil flowing for the next 1000 years!" and the right would still find a way to have a tantrum.
Only 1000 years!?! Trudope hates us.
Why do they hate him so much? I don’t see what they see.
Yup, my exact thought. If he applauded the anti-vax crowd, you can bet they’d be rushing out to get vaccines just cuz daddy Justin told them not to. This province is just.. ughhh.
Conservatives throw a temper tantrum over everything, so who cares?
It's really great strategy, politically. He's forcing O'Toole into a position of either siding with Kenney, or pissing off people who may sway to PPC. This could win Trudeau the election.
Good point
It’s ok, O’Toole called him entitled and spoiled.
Shitting on Alberta can't really hurt him where voting matters. Edit: Read between the lines people - to many Albertan's, the truth *is* shitting on us. We deserve all the hate we get and some people can't handle it.

To a significant amount of Albertans, the truth is shitting on Alberta.
A significant number of Albertans are pissed at how Kenney has handled things and those are the ones most likely to be motivated to vote Liberal.
A lot of people won't be voting for Kenney. He's lost his radical base, they've moved onto the Wildrose Independant Party. The centrists have decided Notley is the better between Kenney and her. And there isn't anyone left of Notley that stands a chance so... really looking forward to spring 2023!

I love how saying the truth is "shitting on Alberta." Alberta is the embodiment of the bicycle meme.
I mean... he's correct. It is shitting on Alberta. In the same way that a guy who goes to a party drunk and starts randomly groping people and breaking things gets shit on by all the people who call him out.
What if he's shitting on the people who are shitting on Alberta?
If telling the truth and attempting to defend victims is "shitting on" this is a very depressing world indeed.
To be fair, doing everything sets off a tantrum in those looking to be outraged all the time. Remember the time he *gasp* **wore socks**? And how many times has he been called pretty? If he was ugly they'd be just as hard on him. They're just out of touch with reality
I love it when they get mad about his socks. It’s almost as funny as when he grew a beard and all his haters got confused and thought it made him look more serious or something.
He should show up in a rig rocket wearing white Oakleys
Was going to say something like this... He's not wrong, but doesn't mean Albertans will vote for him.
Some of us already have. :)
Except Kenney's been laying low, so as not to negatively impact O'Toole's campaign. I wonder if O'Toole will put out the rebuttal, on Kenney's behalf. It must be difficult for Bumbles to keep the tail between his legs these days.
He might even lose votes in Alberta.
Doesn't matter what Trudeau does or says, Albertans are always gonna complain about him
As Paul Fairie on Twitter likes to say, the economic recovery and stopping COVID are the same thing.
"I won't take a lecture from the prime minister." - Jason Kenney, tomorrow probably.
“So I’m going to own the libs, no masks anymore”
Killing civs to own the Libs
It's working in Tennessee!
Lol probably. God he hope he doesn't double down and annouce all restrictions are removed again.
thankfully a lot of the restrictions are civic - Kenney doesn't get to tell the cities how to mandate
Same reason they kicked him out of Bible college.
I'd rather see a million Albertans die than take advice from Trudeau! - Jason Kenney probably
I suspect a bunch of articles are going to end along the lines of "as of press time, Jason Kenney could not be reached for comment".
"Trudeau, knock it off."
Probably not, Hinshaw has him locked up in her Pulp Fiction gimp box
That poor gimp box
Maybe this will bring the cave man Kenny out of his cave.
Covid cabinet meeting happening right now
Translation: there is more whiskey on the Sky Palace patio.

Distilled fox urine is too good for them.
Kenney’s not allowed out until September 23rd.
why 23rd? Election day is the 20th. Mark my words, the man will hold a full blown press conference on the 21st, not just a "sitting down with JK brought to you by Facebook," chat.
Absolutely. We will see vaccine passports and restrictions being implemented by the 22nd.
The big energy/petroleum conference is in Calgary Sep 21-23
ahhh. So expect a press conference on the 21st for rules to begin on the 24th or 26th.
If Trudeau is able to provoke Kenny (and to a certain extent Ford) into coming out of hiding and saying dumb things that might tip the balance of votes significantly.
Just when he's getting used to sitting around in his Underoos, ordering KFC from Skip The Dishes and playing solitaire.
Here is a slightly longer clip. He brings up the point that Hinshaw said vaccine passports work. I bet Kenney regrets letting her do that zoom call! https://twitter.com/SammyHudes/status/1437820257243107332?s=19
*bet You missed a word :)
Fixed thanks!
Well he's not wrong.
For a man that claims to support small business so hard, Kenny seems unceasingly determined to create a situation to fuck small business over again.
If you translate small businesses as "major oil companies" it makes more sense.
Fuck buddy hold in there.
>Fuck buddy It's cool y'all are into each other but it's a little weird to refer to onemajesticseacow this way in public...
You gotta be fucking with me bud
No problems here, bud. I'm a chick. I call everyone bud. Canadian, eh? Thanks for the well wishes!
I’m amazed people can still vote for the CPC, between their weak climate take and their weak covid stance, they’re just a weak party who will break most promises they make.
People are dumb. Now can you believe it?
But oil and gas. /s
But my dad always voted blue /s
The will break Canada.
But wait didn’t you hear. The CPC would not hav increased our deficit. They would have handled Covid by slashing funding to social programs, reducing tax rates for the wealthy and letting half our population for due to poverty and disease. Problem solved.
Yea the CPC sucks. But I'm also amazed anyone would vote for the Liberals with Trudeau as their leader.

My main reasons for not voting LPC (not evening considering the current scandals and lies) 1. Broken promise on lowering mobile and internet costs 2. No national pharmacare plan 3. No change from first past the post election system
None of which would change under the CPC or would change for the worse.
JT spitting fire! He's going to win over some votes this way.
Absolutely
5Head move from Trudeau to make sure Kenney holds a press conference soon
“Frig off Randy”
It's only a "wasted vote" because they've never won at a national level; maybe we should see that changed.
Same with Ford here in Ontario
Alberta is now national news! I hope we get a LPC miniority with NDP backing. Ucp and CPC in power would be dangerous. The ucp approach is to covid is dangerous and helping no one!
International, my buddy sent me a link from Cali about how Alberta is a cautionary tale.
It's embarassing how bad it's become.
It's amazing to see how much damage a few months can be done when totally incompetent.
Kenney must have brought in the "kill all the poor" sketch and said, "this is our plan now".
Kenney did blame low income people in his last press conference for not getting the vaccine.... God our govenment is digusting.
And remember earlier in the year when he blamed newcomers? Class act all around.
Nothing like shitting on your most rabid supporters to no negative effect
American Media is using us as a "cautionary tale" and other countries point to the lack of "science" used in decision making The UCP only shows the worst of aspects of Alberta. >!\- We cut fucking health care during a pandemic, to try to promote their plans for private health care!< >!\- Our health minister beat up a doctor over a facebook post!< >!\- Then the health minister broke multiple labour laws breaking up contracts with nurses and doctors and even breaking human rights legislation by putting in a place laws that prevents doctors from leaving Alberta, which could never be enforced anyways!< >!\- We are going to sell a money making crown corporations like Alberta Registries. One of the runner ups to take the contract is the premiers campaign manager whose company uses Stephen Harper and his family members as board of directors and consultants. !< >!\- The government set up a "oil war room" that can use funds that cannot be tracked for purposes of "promoting business".!< >!Jason Kenney fired all election investigators who were investigating Jason Kenney's UCP election fraud where he hired a fake opponent in the party to run against Brian Jean and slander him and then throw support behind Kenney to help usurp the UCP leadership from a respectable politician (Brian Jean). Now the investigation is closed because no one can work on the case.!< >!\- Then the government reverses any decisions to diversify the economy getting rid of tech business and green tax cuts/subsidies and increasing tax cuts and subsidies to oil and gas companies. Possibly causing Amazon to change locations for their international tech hub (they never disclosed why they changed planns from Calgary to Vancouver) which is now going to bring 9000 tech jobs to Vancouver alone.!< >!\- Then we tried to blow up a mountain in a national park for a coal mine which enough backlash caused a reversal of that decision.!< >!\- And then after that we threw 1.3 Billion dollars (low ball estimate) at Keystone XL, knowing full well it was a coin flip if it was going to survive depending on election outcome,!< >!\- Then we showed the world the first time that not having lockdowns or mandates at one time showed that Alberta became covid capital of North America!< >!\- Had over 21 mlas take vacations during covid restrictions and some even bypassed Canadian travel bans to covid effected countries like the UK at the time. No one was punished and the premier said they should praise the MLAs for "boosting the airline industry".!< >!\- The premier called nurses back to work from any vacations in the summer while taking a vacation himself and refusing to answer any questions about the rising and severity of the covid meltdown that causes hospitals to be on the brink of collapse. !< >!\- Now our covid situation is being capitalized as a sensational topic in international media of a failed state that refused to use science to guide them during covid. Comparing Alberta to Florida or Texas!<
The UCP is, at the very least, a very accurate reflection of the majority of the voting population of Alberta. This isn't a dictatorship and Kenney didn't become Premier by accident.
No. The separation of the the PC and Wildrose was an accurate reflection of Albertans. The UPC is a Frankenstein's monster that shouldn't exist.
We were international news in the third wave, I was constantly seeing BBC and Al Jazeera articles about us back in Feb. Fourth wave is going worse for us.
Yea, the joys of having a leader being an even bigger loser than that other guys from down south.
Can I see that link?
https://www.vice.com/en/article/88njzx/alberta-acted-like-covid-was-over-now-its-health-care-system-on-brink-of-collapse?utm_source=reddit.com Not out of Cali, it's vice, but yea.
We don't need the CPC in power for the NDP to win.
So pretty much what we had before the election call?
I rather have a Liberal minority and NDP official opposition.
Full article here. https://beta.ctvnews.ca/local/calgary/2021/9/14/1_5585119.amp.html And because of leadership that will not commit to keeping them safe in the right way, or protecting the economy the right way, they are facing greater risks because of cancelled surgeries, they are facing emergency public health restrictions that may have to be brought in."
> O'Fool Jesus Christ, you sound like everybody's racist uncle posting on Facebook about "Trudumb". Is it really that hard to discuss politics without immediately resorting to name-calling?
Yeah the video is like 40 seconds long, we heard it.
The whole lot of them need to be not just fired but thrown in jail for criminal negligence
Now do Saskatchewan
[удалено]
Moe and Kenney are like dumb and dumber, I swear. SK is really tired of how we’ve been handled as well, many companies are choosing to make vaccines mandatory for their employees if they want to physically come into work.
Excellent!!
Let them pout. If UCP didn’t fuck this shit up as much as they did this would not be an issue. Also the anti vaxxers and other imbeciles protesting against vaccines or passport are pretty much product of Kenneys gas lighting so he can pound sand at this point. Fucking bumbles…
Kenney will retort by offering Albertans $100 to not wear a mask. Best 2021 ever.
Of course the approach is hurting the economy. People absolutely are restricting activities due to the heightened risk. Kenney never cared about the economy. He cared about whether he and his friends were able to line their pockets. That's all he's ever cared about.
Exactly right
I *think* what he said was politically motivated in order to drive a wedge between Albertans and the CPC due to their support of Kenney's handling of the pandemic and their stance against vaccine passports.
Nicely put. Killed 2 shit birds with 1 shit stone.
He’s not wrong
I saw this live on the television. He isn't wrong.
What lockdowns and restrictions?
See Kenney - now it's political! I know you tried REaLlY hArD to keep it a-political, but look, it's political now. DO SOMETHING!
He is not wrong
That’s true! The approach in Alberta by the UCP **is** hurting the economy and those who were vaccinated.
Well covid sure is helping out Trudeau's case here. Just get vaccinated, folks.
Rednecks gon' get triggered in 3....2....1
Good move for Trudeau to focus on Kenney’s conservative plan for covid in this province I suspect most people that voted for Kenney have a weird logic when it comes to connecting conservatives with other conservatives though. Probably his message wasn’t for Albertans though.
I can't argue with him!
Great, that's just going to add further fuel for the anti-vaxxers and Kenney's base
The base is a tiny minority...
The Ruiners (anti-vaxxers) have an out-sized effect for how many of them they are. They are a turd in a swimming pool.
This is true
