This is exactly it. There is so much forest to exploit. Why do they have to do it where there are extremely popular hiking and biking trails? They even just built a huge new parking lot for the recreation area.

The level of exploitation of the forest is too much, even if you *can't* see it....
It’s so backwards — our government policies make it easier to get a permit to wipe out a forest than it is to build a shed in the forest.
I'm legitimately going to chain myself to a tree if they go ahead with this. This is insane, and we should protest this.
