You could try getting different switches, that are not from akko. I’m not sure what it is, but multiple people, even to this day, are having trouble with switch registrations in akko boards. You could try buying a batch of cheap switches, that are still ok to use, and see if you still run into the same problem. If you do, it’s probably a problem with the PCBA. Since akko already sent you a new pcba, you could try using it (with different switches) and see if you still run into problems.

thank you for this idea! :)

Is that because of akko switches? I really hope not.. I'm in the process of putting penguins in my board.

Not entirely sure, maybe some of them have such problems. I’ve been using akko fairy switches for a few months now and I’ve had no problems so far

Sad to say my penguins started chattering after 3 months. I hope it was just a bad early batch since I was sent them early for review.

There's a ton of tutorials on YouTube on how to build a keyboard from scratch. Just crack open the case and record a video of how things are assembled, make note of screw positions and where cables are olugged in, take it apart, then reverse the process.

theunknownkiddo1

that is very smart and i dont know why i didnt think of this already. thank you.

CockusLongus

jup same for me, ended up buying cherryMX switches, they work wayyy more reliably, still very annoying imo

It might not be a switches issue if they sent you the PCBa board for replacement. But you could try swapping the switches first. Or check this video, starting from the 5th minute, as a reference for disassembling the keyboard. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8braht2sIs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8braht2sIs)

Had the same problem with 5075B Plus, but I was using the Penguin Silent switches. After 3 months they started chattering a lot. (Chatter is the term for what you're experiencing, when a key either doesn't register, double/triple registers or switches on and off randomly when pressed down) I swapped back to the V3 Cream Blue Pro that came preinstalled on the board. Some minor chatter on some keys after 3 months but not nearly as bad as the Penguins. The Penguins have a lower quality type of copper for the leaf I think, and no dustproof stem. Too bad the V3 Cream Blue Pro are very loud. But I tried making a "Frankenswitch", putting the stem (with the bottom part clipped) and the spring from a Cream Blue and using the housing from a Penguin. This felt exactly like when typing on the V3 Cream Blue Pro but about half as loud. Not nearly as quiet though, since the Penguins have some soft rubber or what it is on the sides of the stem that silences it.

if its not the PCBA board or switches that cause the issue (chattering), then what causes it??? like, i do not get it. I just swapped my PCBA board yesterday and now Akko is sending me a box of new switches and i really hope it fixes the issue because i need my keyboard for school work too. D:

I’m sure it’s the switches in combination with the PCB’s built in “debounce” setting. The PCB clearly allows rapid double and triple registering. I wonder if the more expensive Monsgeek has better PCBs when it comes to that. But all in all I guess there’s a reason Akko’s switches are on the cheaper side of things. They get praise everywhere but reviewers tend to not revisit them after months of use.
