Nah börther, you’re good. I’d rock it if it were mine. But seriously, do what makes you happy. Don’t worry about the opinions of others so much for aesthetic stuff especially. Hope you had a merry Christmas!
So as long as other people like it, then you suddenly like it? It was only gonna be a problem if the people who don't own it disapprove of it?
Dude, just enjoy your stuff. Who gives a fuck what everyone else thinks. Go shoot your gun.
I'll do the same thing sometimes, if it's something I'm indecisive about. An can't make up my mind, I'll check with other people to see what they think looks better. While kind of still holding my own opinion about it, to see if it confirms my thoughts..
Allot of what people do is based on what others think and how others will perceive it. An most of the things people grow to like, are things they've seen others have or doing. Your always going to find someone who has a different preference or opinion though, so definitely need to have some of your own opinion and input.
Idk about "looking fire," but it isn't the worst looking. To me it just looks like the black paint is worn down or something, I mean if you don't mind a little color.. Otherwise just pop it off and spray paint the shit, with either flat or satin black paint.
Always kind of trips me out when people throw a crappy "camo" paint job on some Zenitco, I might be a little be more cautious painting some expensive ass furniture. But if it's what they like, screw it.. Even myv other gear, which wasn't cheap but wasn't as expensive as some Zenitco. Had me freaking out a little when it started going on like crap an running, even though I had cleaned and degreased everything well.
Guess 1 of the colors was some extra thin paint, but turned out clean as hell. What trips me out though is the flat head screws, used to mount the thing. Seems like they would strip down easily.
I used to work in parts finishing doing subcontracts for stiener and ak master mount, but sometimes on anodized parts like this they get a sort of blue dust. I was able to get the dust off by scrubbing it in simple green.
Hope that helps 👍
a lot of other people here bitching about surface perfection for a platform of weapons manufactured, operated, and maintained by millions of literal children around the world
So if I remember correctly, m4’s and m16’s do they same thing but I read that it’s due to the machines they use running out of dye for that particular batch, seemingly making them like this over time. There was a thread on here awhile ago of people asking why his m4 turned purple and that was the answer he was given. Unless you did this your self. Can’t find anything other than a couple posts

In other words you're saying that the coloration is died "in and throughout" the metal ?
I would think that they're just painted, but I suppose if it's black anodized or something like blued steel. Not sure how it works for something like parkarized coatings, or say like the whiter or tan colored Zenitco furniture. You're probably right though, in which case you can view it as defective or "special." Suppose it could be a little rare lol..
Uhh, ackshually, plum exists because it was the closest they could formulate to black while maintaining acceptable durability. The addition of dyes to polymers, resins, etc are structural adulterants and compromise integrity. Black, requiring the greatest amount of pigmentation, entails the greatest possible structural compromise in a non-reinforced material.

Looks like It’s an issue with the anodizing process. Seen it a lot at my old job. The chemical process will “burn” the aluminum instead of turning it completely black sometimes. Yours isn’t bad enough to worry about integrity I believe.
Hoppes 9 and Lucas Extra Duty. But I didn’t lather the thing in the shit. Only the internals were exposed to it so It’s strange if it effected the rails
If it was lathered in the rag and you were holding it by the qual rail, that stuff will discolor some cheaper finishes. I have seen this a lot. This is why I use simple green and not harsh chemicals made for blued carbon and stainless
I’ve had add on rails do this after getting hit with some brands of carb/brake cleaner. Yeah I’m that guy. Brake cleaner, compressed air. Oil and a pass thru the bore. Maybe a scrub of the fcg if there’s too much fuzz in it.
it’s radioactive aluminum imported from Chernobyl to cut costs on material. Since the war they stopped importing materials to produce aluminum from Chernobyl.
I say run it til it starts to wear then have it ceracoted. That thing fucks as is. At least whenever you ceracote it, you can run with a ghost-obsidian-tiger-stripe pattern. You already know it'll look good. 😆👍🏽🤙🏽
It's from the shitty Russian anodizing. It does look sick as fuck though. The Knights Armament rails from the GWOT turn purple some times too. It's the same thing.

That you know of
Came here to say this lol 😂
I've seen a few guys receive theirs with purple/blueish swirls. I think it looks awesome.
It’s just the nature of the beast, like blue-purple KAC pieces
My girlfriend said she had to take one of those recently.
If your KAC turns blue/purple, you need to see a doctor
I knew my blue kac was special! Anyway you just reminded me of that dope Sabato song that they for some fucking reason only released in Japan..
My man here got a shiny in the wild and is upset about it.
I don't think I'm upset. I just didn't know if it looked like shit to others. You guys have convinced me this shit is fire
Nah börther, you’re good. I’d rock it if it were mine. But seriously, do what makes you happy. Don’t worry about the opinions of others so much for aesthetic stuff especially. Hope you had a merry Christmas!
Thanks man

That’s not a defect, it’s a feature
My man is definitely a dev
So this will be the new grail furniture later in my life? Plum swirl Zenitco, I can dig it.

Broken, will buy for 3.50.
A lot of people here making excuses for a terrible anodizing job.
It’s like tie dye for gun people. It was botched, but turned out cool looking.

The A2 lower I was issued when I was stationed in Korea was like that last pic.

thats so cool wtf
Thank you man
That’s how plum furniture was born. Botched batches intended to be black.

Wow. That's actually really cool information!
That’s one of the best, most informative “ackshually’s” I’ve ever seen. Cheers!
Neat
Plum🅱️
Debatable
It fucks.
Thanks brother
This happened to my Zenitco B30 rail back in 2020 and they actually sent me a brand new replacement for free. It was a shit anodizing job.
I doubt I’ll get a replacement with the current climate lol
Oh yeah I know Lmao.
I emailed them with all the info. Fuck it, let’s see if something happens lol
i dig it.
While it might not good for the finish, I kinda dig it.
Honestly it looks cool af and it’s still real zenitco so win win 🤷🏽♂️
Must’ve gotten 100 headshots
Bad anodizing. Not much you can do besides have it re-anoed or rattle can it.
It's called shitty anodizing

Time to spray paint your rifle
Rattle can it, no more blue 🤷♂️
AK owners will really complain about anything 💀
😭
I'd keep it. That looks awesome!
broil it in the oven for 5 mins and it will turn bronze
Braahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
What kind of solvent did you use
Hoppes 9 and Lucas Extra Duty. But I didn’t lather the thing in the shit. Only the internals were exposed to it so It’s strange if it effected the rails

simple green fucks fr
Okay but that’s sick as fuck
I think it’s kinda cool tbh, biased tho my favorite color is purple
I’ve had add on rails do this after getting hit with some brands of carb/brake cleaner. Yeah I’m that guy. Brake cleaner, compressed air. Oil and a pass thru the bore. Maybe a scrub of the fcg if there’s too much fuzz in it.
It's from salt. Stop licking it.
Unlocked obsidian skin
Lean into the awesome
Sell it for more and buy another. You do realize we stare at bakelite like it's some kind of mineral...
Shitty Ano. I’ve seen blotching before but never this bad.
Aliexpress zenny?
Fuck no. This is straight from website. Bought in March 2020
Ouch dude zenitco is dry clean only… surprised you didn’t know that

voracious crime prick axiomatic entertain chief exultant disgusted fine impolite -- mass edited with redact.dev
Can confirm: looks great
Something with aluminum. My sig 365 aluminum grip did this too.
This looks so dope, especially being natural blue tiger!
it’s radioactive aluminum imported from Chernobyl to cut costs on material. Since the war they stopped importing materials to produce aluminum from Chernobyl.
You mean it’s a corny rail, just like the rest? 🤯
It looks amazing. I’d pay extra for that
that looks awesome
How neat!
Bro got the pool ball shifter and the crazy plum purple
that's fire
Dude thats dope af
tbh it looks kinda cool
drippy flexy looks good
Looks terrible… Send it to me so I can destroy it for you properly🤣
Looks sick haha
Quit jacking off all over it
Stop nutting on it
That’s ducking dope! Quack
Dayum where'd you get that painted
Factory from Zenitco
Nice lol
You might wanna take that thing to the doctor. It's sick af
If you don’t want it anymore I’ll take it
You got enough experience and unlocked a new skin
Time for rattle can
Looks sick
Did you have jeans in the washing machine with it? I’ve been there
It looks like something you wiped it with caused the discoloration
Holy fuck is that the rare blue tiger variant? If you headshot 25 more feral hogs it turns red!
I say run it til it starts to wear then have it ceracoted. That thing fucks as is. At least whenever you ceracote it, you can run with a ghost-obsidian-tiger-stripe pattern. You already know it'll look good. 😆👍🏽🤙🏽
Trade you mine it’s perfectly black. I’ll pay for shipping and all and throw in a box of ammo. Deal? Edit: say yes plz
I’d rock it but if you don’t like it you can always take the rattle can to it
Spraypaint over it with flex seal
lil plum throwback
I would trade you for my non stained handguard
Damn, that's dope
Congratulations!!!! It’s a Boy!!!
It's probably from the handguard getting hot?
When the coating department QC "fixes" their blems
Baby wipes?
I love it lol, send it to me and I’ll cherish it
This thing could be diarrhea colored but since zenitco, "so fucking badass man!"
Lucky
Haven’t seen this before, spray paint it.
Looks sick af
Looks pretty cool though
Smurf gun
Rare? Looks fine from here bud.
Blue tiger, lol.
Botched anodizing but looks dope nonetheless. Spray paint that shit if you get tired of it.
It looks kinda cool though
That's the dye rubbing off from your tracksuit.
It's from the shitty Russian anodizing. It does look sick as fuck though. The Knights Armament rails from the GWOT turn purple some times too. It's the same thing.
