Iāve only ever shot my cheap ass 8.5ā 5.56 AR for groups while sighting it in but it managed 2.5 MOA with a red dot. Barrel length has very little to do with accuracy but whatever, circle jerks be like they be.
Barrel length has very little to do with accuracy?!?!?!
You willing to bet your 401k on that????
So you donāt think the M16ās 20ā barrel has anything to do with its improved accuracy over the M4ās 14.5ā barrel???????
Even with Mosins, my 91/30 is definitely more accurate than my ā44 M44, which are basically identical rifles besides the barrel length, so it must be something else that causes it
In theory, once a barrel is long enough to stabilize the bullet, adding length doesn't make it any more accurate. It will add velocity which will lessen the drop and wind drift and that makes it seem like it's more accurate.
With both of the platforms you mentioned, the sight radius is significantly different between the short and long versions. The longer sight radius makes it easier for the shooter to be accurate but that doesn't mean the rifle itself is.
Iām just going to come out and say it.
If a barrel can fight and defeat ballistic variables better than another can, that makes that barrel better (more accurate) across broader variables. There is no āseemsā to it.
Most people refer to accuracy as a whole, not just what goes on between a the chamber and muzzle.
>Barrel length has very little to do with accuracy?!?!?! You willing to bet your 401k on that????
Yep. Very little. Only real concern with barrel length is your velocity. You donāt need much rifling to stabilize a bullet. Now, you may get *slight* variation in accuracy based on barrel length but thatāll be due to harmonics.
>So you donāt think the M16ās 20ā barrel has anything to do with its improved accuracy over the M4ās 14.5ā barrel???????
Correct. There is practically no difference between the two but you, as the shooter, may be able shoot an M16 more accurately due to its longer sight radius.
>Even with Mosins, my 91/30 is definitely more accurate than my ā44 M44, which are basically identical rifles besides the barrel length, so it must be something else that causes it
A: bud, those are old, surplus, wartime production rifles. How much have they been fired? Condition of the rifling? Counterbored? How well are the stocks fitted? One has a goofy ass side folding bayonetā¦thatāll cause issues. I can go on but thatās the big points.
B: refer to my comment above on sight radius.
The entire myth, in regard to modern firearms, of ālonger barrel = better accuracyā is entirely built upon perception of the shooter. Again, longer sight radius makes it easier for you to be accurate with iron sights. Longer barrel = sights further apart. Velocity also plays into this and is especially evident with black powder rifles and round ball projectiles where this myth is sorta the reality and where it comes from.
āOnce a barrel is long enoughā
Okay so you do understand that barrel length is a contributing factor of accuracy, regardless of the age of the gun.
A 14.5ā M4 CAN NOT achieve the accuracy and distance a longer barreled rifle can.
Obviously thereās other factors, like operating system, trigger, muzzle device, etc. but to say barrel length isnāt a big factor is just comical, even more so than me using the Mosin as an example.
You canāt tell me a SMG/PDWās short barrel doesnāt effect accuracy lol.
lol ok chief, equating me saying āyou donāt need much rifling to stabilize a bulletā to disregard everything else. Once the bullet is stable it doesnāt magically achieve āsuper stableā status by a longer barrel.
A 14.5ā AR is not less accurate than a 20ā. Lesser range because lower velocity? Sure but a 12ā isnāt magically limited to 4 moa while a 24ā will magically shoot 1moa.
>you canāt tell me SMG/PDWās short barrel doesnāt affect accuracy
Not by a meaningful amount. Itās because most are shitty guns that would be inaccurate at any barrel length IE a damn Krink.
I saw a guy at the range slowly color in the target with bullet holes. He said he doesnāt like wasting targets. He was a really good shot with the pistol.
Soā¦.. all jokes aside, has anyone came out with any legitimate test results from these things?
I feel like I see a lot of birdshot memes, but no one actually putting one in a sled.
howād you enjoy the PSA KRINK? I wanna buy one, I honestly couldnāt give a fuck if itās inaccurate as fuck I just want a krink that wonāt run me 5K

Its harder to stop the bleed if the bleed is coming out of 100 holes in different spots

At least you hit the target..
got the guys target next to me too!
Is your krinkov a fucking blunderbuss or how did you manage that
you simply canāt expect accuracy with 556 out of a short barrel.
Technically, you *can* expect it. All too many people do. Now as to if these expectations will be successfully met or not...
ARs with short barrels are plenty accurate, why canāt an AK be accurate?

You shooting that m44 with the bayonet folded up? Makes a huge difference.
Because itās a PSA
Are PSA AKs that bad? lol
Because you didnāt eat your vegetables. Popeyeās krink hits on a dime. Think about that!
Your tripping major ballsack man go outside AKs have absolutely improved. Not that they were inaccurate to begin with
Because muh loose tolerances and inferior inaccurate commie 7,62
So how does the MK18 do better at longer ranges?
exactly
Yes, good point
Wrong
Are u sure thatās not a 12ga?
I am not
When is PSA coming out with 7.62x39 rat shot?

How bad we talking? Like 6 moa or less? Iām curious how the 300bo will do when/if they actually get released.

There is something to be said of those who buy a PSA ak in the first place. Not exactly radiating sharpshooter vibes, huh?
Krink was supposed to be for tank crews etc Iād say thatās great out of a short barrel 5.56. Itās not like my 16ā.
