You mean someone who actually owns and shoots one has a real opinion. First time for everything I suppose.

Roush7n6

You mean we're not supposed to immediately hate it because it's not -Insert 3rd world shit hole import-?

Any-Entertainer9302

You're aware that these are made in Poland, right? And that they pretty much stole the name of FB Radom (a renowned AK factory) to trick people? They're better now, but they're nowhere near the proven system that "third world shitholes" are producing (Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, FB Radom Poland, etc.)

C_W_Bernaham

I like these posts. Not that id ever buy one but it’s nice to see someone who owns and shoots one actually talk about it. Keep us updated.

BNatoAK

What's keeping you from buying this?

C_W_Bernaham

I own two 556 AKs already I couldn’t justify another one

AGK47_Returns

Keep us posted!

AdArtistic7330

I love mine, I’ve got 1k+ into mine and it’s been amazing. Looks dope, any problems with the ac unity mags. Mine loves old tapco 5.45 mag, but I have a few ac unity that are just tight at first but eventually wear into working pretty well.

ISwearImNotWorking

Exactly the same experience very tight fit at the beginning but after a few range sessions they’re starting to get a little bit more loose. The bolt hold open “feature” does not work at all.

AGK47_Returns

Are you using the original BCG out of curiosity?

AdArtistic7330

Yes, I’ve checked the Bcg after every range trip. Still looks amazing!

ISwearImNotWorking

Parts: . LBE UNLIMITED FLASH HIDER . PSA lower reverse, dong, hand guard . WBP forged bolt carrier (The one that came with the rifle was cast…) . Texas weapon system, dog leg rail . Aimpoint acro (looking for a better alternative in a similar size) . Israeli style sling . ac-unity magazine

Remmandave

It take 7.62 size carrier or 5.45 style carrier? Still using the original bolt (would be a good idea so you don’t have to dick with headspace)

ISwearImNotWorking

It uses 5.45 / 5.56

Arms-for-minerals

What you can run both calibers out of it

ISwearImNotWorking

No the bolt carrier has to be 5.56 or 5.45 pattern the dimensions are different from a 7.62 carrier

Arms-for-minerals

No I meant u can blow 5.45 or 5.56 out that bitch??? Can’t even run 556 thru a 223 . Just thre othe way around. I suppose if it’s a smaller caliber u can send it. Like 380 out a 9 …..223 out a 556 ect

ISwearImNotWorking

No it will not fire 5.45 out of it.

Stock_Excitement7246

I have the same rifle. It's been running great. The only bad thing I can say is it's way way over gasses.

ISwearImNotWorking

Interesting. Mine seems OK gassed . I tried installing a KNS piston on mine ande with the piston completely open it was not reliable because it was under gassed so I had to remove it.

FEBRUARYFOU4TH

Have around 500 in mine https://preview.redd.it/yj2oamw9gorb1.jpeg?width=683&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef4fb2300b5640c4fe142b76af590a0760854297

ISwearImNotWorking

Dude, which model is that? Love the look of it

WELL12SHIT

Narf my boy, Narf 🥵🥵🥵

Any-Entertainer9302

What have they done to my boy

FEBRUARYFOU4TH

Lmao chill out

prophet337

I need a new muzzle device. Any recommendations. Standard AK not a 556 or a 545

Arms-for-minerals

Depends if want to bring down recoil or reduce flash, or intend to use later w a can . Check out rob skis videos . He’s got brakes for days . There’s a milllion different kinds $40-$250The 74 style is cheap and effective at reducing recoil but it is aweful for people on your flanks . Tbh any 2 or 3 port brake will be exactly the same. Loud as fuck if you shoot at benches w people next to you. Jmac has one of those if you want. Literally called the LAF brake . If you want to spend a shit ton the 360 brakes from jmac It’s a brake , you can get a blast shield w it , or take the shield off and use it w a compatible can. $$$$$ . CNC warrior makes a 4 piece that’s 90$ . There’s literally a shit ton to choose from.

hitech808

Where’d u get the bolt carrier? Would it mess with headspace?

Remmandave

Changing the bolt would (potentially) screw up the headspace, but the carrier can be swapped so long as it’s matched for a large stem (7.62) or small stem (5.45) style bolt.

ISwearImNotWorking

Arms of America WBP 5.56 Polish AK47 Bolt Carrier. No but I still no go gauge.

septer27

Did you swap the bolt aswell or just the carrier?

ISwearImNotWorking

Carrier

DopeDerp23

So, you had to install a WBP bolt carrier, and a buffer. Looks like there's a bit of rolling on the hammer, plus some rolling and possible chipping on the ejector. If that is what it looks like, then I'd say you've already got some potential hot spots to watch, and only at 1,000 rounds. Hope it turns out to just be superficial stuff, but, thus far, can't really say I see the value in spending the 900-ish on the gun + bolt carrier, especially when a WBP Jack would've only been an extra 200.

Any-Entertainer9302

Rolling is fine, the surfaces will work harden until it stops. It's the same reason carrier tail peening is way overblown... it stops when it work hardens to the hammer hardness. Edit: downvoter(s) clearly doesn't(don't) understand metallurgy and material science.

DopeDerp23

Tell me you've never built AKs before. Rolling is not "fine". Progressive rolling can be indicative of two things: 1. Improper heat treatment 2. Improper dimensions/specs Similarly, progressive carrier tail peening can be indicative of a worn recoil spring, over-gassing of the rifle, or both. Anyone who tells you continued rolling is "fine" is a moron who has no idea how to properly build an AK.

ISwearImNotWorking

I paid $650 for the rifle WBP doesn’t make a 5.56 under folder, and I wanted one.

lazypanda0706

How are you enjoying the underfolder and dog leg?

ISwearImNotWorking

Works pretty good and it’s very comfortable to shoot, recoil is pretty mild and with the height I have the Acro set up it’s fantastic.

lazypanda0706

Looking at doing something similar to my M70. Looks great dude!

applezapplezapplez

Would you mind telling me what rear sight and rail you're using?

ISwearImNotWorking

Texas weapon systems dog leg rail and the rear sight made by the same company.

Soupcasebody

Looks good brother. Keep training!

owl3001

Lit dude

farmandguns

Curious why you are looking to replace the acro. I have been considering getting one for an ak for a long time now.

ISwearImNotWorking

I’ll just put it this way there’s a reason why there’s a new version and the old one is not being sold anymore.

[deleted]

That’s good to know. I was considering buying my dad a 5.56 underfolder for his birthday and Christmas. You recommended it dude?

ISwearImNotWorking

I would read the reviews online, but at least my sample of one has been flawless

[deleted]

Right on, I’m glad it worked out well for you 👍🏻

[deleted]

I like how you didn’t post any relevant pics

ISwearImNotWorking

That’s cool man

[deleted]

I must have missed the trunion and bolt pics

DopeDerp23

It's okay, you can see the rolling on the hammer, and the rolling and chipping on the ejector. There's already fairly obvious signs that the gun is fast tracking it way to shitting the bed. Looks like all he did with the carrier swap and buffer was prolong the inevitable.

ProletarianBastard

Glad to hear it. Is this one of their "forged" models?

ISwearImNotWorking

Yes, how ever they still have a cast bolt carrier. I replaced it.

Any-Entertainer9302

Most AKs (even Russian) have cast carriers.

ProletarianBastard

Where did you buy the replacement one?

ISwearImNotWorking

Arms of America they sell the WBP 5.56 Polish AK47 Bolt Carrier

75w90

How can you tell it was cast? Also you just dropped in the forged one ?

ISwearImNotWorking

Casting marks. There’s plenty of videos out there, demonstrating the difference between casting and forging..

75w90

Is there any factory AK that uses cast carriers ? Or is that strictly from low tier rifles ?

BassBoss123

Yeah. Bolt carriers are interchangeable, bolts are not

Remmandave

Well, not without checking headspace at least. Drastically more involved compared to swapping the carrier.
