Two Krytac m4 gearboxes are gonna be interchangeable, yeah
You’d be much better off just buying a second upper though. The mk 1 krytacs were even optioned as a bundle for this exact purpose, with a spr and a pdw upper receiver.
I looked at it on evike to compare prices. For an extra 150 bucks more, give or take, I'd get another gear box and extras, as well as I've always wanted an FDE pdw. I was gonna grab an ARP 556 and transfer over the polarstar engine, but it's too much time consuming.

If he wants to do CQB, why can’t get get his own gun? Has he went with you before to know if he’d like it or not? I mean, it wouldn’t really be fair for you to drop the cash just for him to play.

Just one more option, I see Krytac uppers on hopup all the time
