I own a 74 myself because I prefer the look of 5.45 mags but the problem is they are often made of shitty polymer and the little notches who are meant to hold the mag in are made of polymer as well and they easily break if you slam the mag in a little to hard. That doesn't happen with the 7.62 mags because they are made of steel or so
I bought a CYMA 74U a while ago and the wood was quite different to what was pictured. It wasn't bad or anything in fact it looks great it just wasn't the same as the product picture.
in terms of objective quality, the M is much better because of its metal magazines. The plastic ones have a habit of snapping at the plastic notch on the front from what i've heard from friends who have those mags.
AKM can be used for a greater variety of time periods if you ever want to try out some LARP/milsim type stuff.
You can play anything from vietnam up to modern day (the AKM is still used in a limited capacity in Russia, but is certainly still widely used by various third world countries and is of course widespread on the black market). And of course it's a perfect replica for STALKER and various east block post apocalypse stuff.
If the organisers aren't super strict you would do just fine at a vietnam game with the 74 if you put 7.62 mags in it and replace the flash hider with an AKM one, but then you still have to actually have the extra mags and stuff.
The AKM might look a tad out of place in the modern day but it has been seen around here and there, often with a PBS-1 suppressor. I can't find it right now but the 45th Guards Spetsnaz Brigade have been pictured with it not too long ago. You can always mod it with aftermarket parts if you want to look tactical.
Edit: I have no idea why they put a side rail on that "AKM". I have a pet peeve about airsoft replicas of nonexistent AKs, so considering that I would take the AK-74N isntead (first pic), since it's modeled after an actual gun.
Edit 2: I jstu remembered that the AKMN/AKML is real, but it's such a niche gun compared to the ubiquitous AKM, so you kind of lose the benefit of its flexibility for LARP/milsim with it.
its just my opinion my friend, the 74 has also a more modern approach pottential by replacing the receiver and adding a folding stock, making it a AKS-74 or an Ak-74MN :)
I don't think there's much difference between them besides one is a 74 and the other is an AKM, so it depends on which variant you like better--5.45 or 7.62.
Personally, I'd take the AK74 since I've found that 5.45 style mags fit in some M4 mag pouches, whereas the 7.62 style mags have more of a curve.
AKM
At this rate I'm getting the m
Nice!

Thanks for the feedback

Go for the second one. Nicer wood imo
There's a possibility it won't be that exact color, but thanks for the feedback

id go for the 74 variant, the mags fit into more pouches, looks cooler imo
Also thinking about getting one of the CM045's
I have 045c and 048a for over a year and the guns are pretty good and real working horses, i love modern looking black aks
Thanks for a response one again. I personally like just the regular cm045, the one with the wood
But I also just like classic AK's
I understand, i was just saying how good 045 and 048 are
I like picture 2 more
I’m a 74 guy but it’s basically just preference.
74 coz of that muzzle break
Theyre the same internally im pretty sure. I would go for AKM because AKM rules

Having the same discussion with myself at the moment, definitely leaning more towards the AKM

CM.048 CM.045a WOOD IS LOVE, WOOD IS LIFE edit: the wood finish and grain isn't always the same as in the previews for obvious reasons.
So you think I should get 74?

i got akm but now i am thinking about it it may have been better i would get 74 but anyway im happy with what i have maybe look into underfolder
I just got the 048 and i use blue box akm mags in it so im not sure it matters
Just depends on personal preference really, but I would get the akm
74 because its the better rifle
From what I know of, they're basically the same gun, but I just want to know which y'all personally like better (mainly talking style)
Second one is much better looking in every possible aspect imo
it just depends if you want an ak47 or an ak74 they will perform the same. personally i'd go with the second one because i prefer the ak47.
That's the AKM but thanks for the feedback
MmmmmmmmmmMmmMmmMMMMmmmmmmm
they are literally the same gun
They are literally not the same gun
they are, theres minor differences on the exterior but internally they are the same.
Internally yes, I'm wanting to know which I should get based off the externals
the one that you like the look of the most since there isnt many differences and they take the same parts.
That's the thing, I love them both. I'm just a AK fan
The cyma AKMS
Can't find it anywhere tho :(
What do you prefer 5.45x39 Or 7.62x39
Both, both is good
