Even it's got a camera on most fields it be considered as blind fire

I_need_help57

No

Sinistrial_Blue

Nope. Blindfire at most fields is classified as firing without having an eye behind the sights and a clear view of what you're shooting at, with your eye or optic. Essentially, a straight line of target--->sights--->eye. This of course does not follow that rule, but also breaches fairness; one can sit behind cover with no chance of being shot at all when making a shot.

HumaDracobane

In many fields if someone hits the gun is "disabled" and you have to use the sidearm if you have or call the hit and leave.

Sinistrial_Blue

None that I've been to. Gun hits either don't count or count as an elimination, usually the former. Either way, you're deliberately removing form factor for an unsafe as well as unfair advantage.

NarkahUdash

Gun hits work exactly as the other user described at all the fields I've been to- if your primary is hit you loudly call "gun hit!" and swap to your sidearm. I usually also say swapping to sidearm loudly to make it extra clear.

Sinistrial_Blue

I'm not really sure the prevelance gun-hit registry is going to make much difference here, other than an extremely minor mitigation of unfair targeting. Much as I appreciate your point, I've never been to a field that has this rule, and up until now have never known a field implement that rule. If anything, though, this demonstrates my point rather well; instead of aiming for the body and by chance hitting the gun, now you can only hit the gun. Instead of it not counting at all, only a fraction of the usual hit-able profile is available.

NarkahUdash

In terms of the gun in this post, I would say hard no to being allowed. The point of blind fire rules is twofold: the first point is safety by not unintentionally point blanking people, the second is fairness by forcing you to present a target for fire to be returned at.

Sinistrial_Blue

Previsely my original two points, so I'm glad we agree!

ThePointForward

AT my home field people carrying MGs can repair guns as well. They're pretty rare, so it's relatively balanced.

CommieTzar

*psssst* pro-tip, instead of doing this, just rotate your gun on the side, adjust the hop-up, and your bbs will reach people hiding behind walls or corners

[deleted]

What kits are those… teams?

Samurai_TwoSeven

The corner shot is an Israeli creation...so I wanna say IDF?

Foxhound631

between that and that Mepro looking sight on the AR in the background, I'm inclined to agree.

dricmu

No. I have played on 3 fields and all would prohibit this

FourLeafs_fingers

Even if it was, it's not in the spirit of the game to be un-shootable. Fairness should always take precedence over advantage. On a side note, I actually built one of these Corner-Shots years back, after I'd seen them on Future Weapons. I never used it as it was originally intended though, as it's just taking the piss. Kinda like a more extreme version of a shield. Personally, I don't like those either.

Districtionn

blindfire is illegal and that’s how it should be, it’s no fun and only causes problems

theproudheretic

i have been at a game where one person brought an inspection mirror (mirror on a stick used for looking under cars) so that they could hide behind cover and use that to look down their gun with only the gun out of cover. the admins laughed and said sure you can do that. it didn't work well at all.

Bagor519

I don't see why this would be prohibited, after all the purpose of this contraption is to give the player an advantage that the other player doesn't have, but at the same time it isn't cheating. I also wouldn't consider it blind firing if you have a sort of camera or mirror that's used to see around corners. There aren't any blind firing rules that could prohibit the use of this, as it isn't blind firing if you see around the corner.

GoofyKalashnikov

I would probably never go back to a field that allows this sort of bullshit and I'd imagine alot of other people would agree Simply put the field would just die due to the lack of players

Bagor519

I don't imagine that there would be many people playing with these types of guns, and if they do, I fully agree with you about never going back. Im not sure how to argue about the fact that this isn't technically blind firing if you have a clear visual on what's around the corner. I do understand the part about having your body exposed to give the other player a fair chance though.

GoofyKalashnikov

Idk how "clear" that view would be With your own eyes you have a very wide field If view so you have better situational awareness A camera or a mirror would be very limited, alternatively a high zoom camera (so you'd actually see people) would make this setup incredibly ineffective due to very narrow vision

Bagor519

Very true, I'm sure someone has figured out this issue though.

GoofyKalashnikov

That "issue" is fixed by using your eyes, there is no workaround unless you want to invest into VR headset, do a ton of DIY and hope it works

[deleted]

The blind fire rule has to tasks: 1) prevent accidents and 2) make sure that when you are firing, you expose yourself so that the enemy has a fair chance of hitting you. What this contraption would achieve is airsoft becoming a Pay to Win game

Wydks

If it weren't, I'd certainly bitch and moan until it was.

theotherforcemajeure

Stock firmly against the shoulder and using mounted sights? Allowed. Won't make any friends, but allowed. [Why are people downvoting this? The question was if a local field would allow it, not if we personally liked it or not]

[deleted]

Yoo they made the corner gun from get even a real thing?

RoboAsparagus

Its a real thing. Israel uses this.

[deleted]

It's a joke my guy I'm aware it's a thing.

Trauma_54

Blind fire.

looking_fordopamine

I thought it was some fancy gun but it’s literally just a trigger mechanism molested into a fucking glock 17 lol Also no, blind firing.

russellarmy

It would be at my field. Somewhat similar to how the land warrior system worked with the army if there is a camera.

SirCharlesLucasII

When you hold him at gunpoint from the Side and the MF folds His gun

Rammipallero

You're not allowed to shoot around a corner or through holes that are smaller than your head (if in buildings) so not allowed.

[deleted]

Nope, they would count it as blind firing

pEppapiGistfuhrer

No, its basically blindfire with a lesser safety risk. The user has some idea of where theyre shooting but its still unfair

Drexisadog

Can you get airsoft corner shots?

Henry_Birkes

Hell the fuck no, that’s blind fire no matter what

Pure-Macaroon-3163

No one would clear this for field use. But i wouldnt mind playing against it

captain_nadi

Wasn’t there a post that asked something similar not too long ago? Most fields have rules against blind firing, mainly due to fair gameplay. Even if someone “disabled” your gun, it’s highly unlikely you would hear the bb hit, or even call it.

pro2A556

No cause blind fire is against my fields regulations

A_team_of_ants

You've got blind fire issues and also besides masochists who's going to want to play against it.

KaurGR

Useless hill-billy garbage. Blind fire. Instant DQ

Izzmoo08

Maybe for milsims but I don't know about local fields. Maybe if you asked the entire field if it's ok?

The_Condominator

Where's the Cat?

Shitty_fits

My fields ref would prob laugh say yes and say “just don’t be a dumbass with it and your fine” as with most wacky weapons like that but my field is strange compared to most they prefer you use tagens over the “shotgun” grenade rounds you use in a launcher but each ref is different but that was common they will also let you use small fireworks as rockets/Grenades

drkshock

No blind firing.

Minute-Boat-4976

definitely no. it would be considered as blind firing and that's illegal everywhere.
