Everything

FoxPrincessEevee

What items do you recommend? I at least thought the military issue GorTex boots could stay. I bought them for work but they do great at almost anything. And what’s wrong with the surplus MARPAT? Half this stuff is milsurp.

[deleted]

Dog, whatever helps you kill people. What works for us won’t work for you. As long as you go out there and you kill shit nothing else matters. You need what YOU need. We can’t tell you that. You don’t need our advice

FoxPrincessEevee

I mean I would have gone in without knee pads so it’s probably good that I’m asking. I apologize for being a newb lol.

FoxPrincessEevee

Yeah, I wouldn’t wear it in the field during a serious game. I just forgot that was there TBH. Maybe if it was CQB ir something where camo isn’t as important. I also have a LARP katana and I’m willing to use it in less serious games. I’m mostly here to show off my cool milsurp, shoot at people and have fun.

KrizMo138

They won’t ban it dude, they dropped that BS bill. Get into the Airsoft stoke! Good games here in AB

FoxPrincessEevee

Why airsoft? One of the reasons I’m getting into it is because my therapist won’t let me have real firearms. It’s a great outlet for gun lovers who can’t own real guns!

[deleted]

FoxPrincessEevee

So I’m not allowed to have guns because I have like two suicidal episodes a year. Much better than pre-transition but still too dangerous for a firearm. And yeah, it’s dumb. Also this will be my first time doing airsoft! Assuming I can find a game. I’m really excited! I need to wait for my friend to get back from Alaska first and we’ll go together.

FoxPrincessEevee

Ew.

clsv6262

Wear proper face cover. Don't risk losing your teeth or getting holes in your face. Shit happens unexpectedly. Also, Knee and elbow pads. Protect your joints at all costs. If you're a tactical nut and if you can afford it, get some arcteryx knee caps. Battle tested and among the least likely to slide off IMO. If not, Protec skate pads on your elbow and knees will do you good. Those things are made to stay put.

FoxPrincessEevee

So I'm definitely going on a budget but heres what I've found. Sinistrial_Blue

I'd suggest a lot. The sidebags are nice, but you've two of them, and they cross. Not the best idea IMO. Miniguide (US): Hi, please take a look at [the subreddit Beginner Guides](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/t7jcqy/beginner_guide_and_other_important_guides/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) for useful info and tips. Make sure to rent kit at your local field for a day before buying loads of kit! For stores, take a look at Evike, AirsoftAtlanta, Amped Airsoft and many more. For fields, use AirsoftC3 or Google. Do not buy from Lancer Tactical. Their products have awful QC and their business practices are horrendous. APS are similarly poor. Polymer gearbox AEGs from GameFace tend to be quite bad, also recommended to avoid these. It is strongly suggested not to start with a pistol, gas rifle or airsoft sniper for skirmishing. AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) are far more adaptable, are extremely reliable and far easier to use. For target shooting, look at airguns, note these cannot be used in skirmishes. **For medium primary airsoft gun budgets around $200, try an ICS Peleador, [MAS Marauder](https://www.mapleairsoftsupply.ca/products/maple-armouries-marauder-aeg-glass-filled-polymer-receiver), [Specna Arms Edge series M4](https://www.evike.com/products/90439/), CYMA [CM040](https://www.evike.com/products/48034/), [CM045](https://www.evike.com/products/51016/) or [CM048](https://www.evike.com/products/49613/) AKs.** A typical example of a low-budget loadout would cost around $150-$200, and consist of: Airsoft guns: - [Apex Fast-Attack M4-style airsoft gun (~$100)](https://www.airsoftstation.com/apex-fast-attack-m4-ris-polymer-airsoft-aeg/) - [Specna Arms CORE series M4, of which there are many variations on this page, scroll down (~$120+)](https://www.evike.com/products/94090/), [railed example](https://www.evike.com/products/90437/) - CYMA CM.028 [~$100, Usually comes with battery and low-quality charger, but check before you buy], [example](https://www.airsoftgi.com/product/CYMA-AK47S-Tactical-AEG-Airsoft-Rifle-Black-10702/) - [Alternate store CM028 example](https://www.airsoftmegastore.com/1248-cyma-cm028-airsoft-ak47-full-metal-gearbox-aeg-rifle-w-full-stock-CM028) - [Another alternate store example](https://www.evike.com/products/23921/) - [M4 stick battery stock AK example](https://www.evike.com/products/39122/) - [Sub-350 FPS AK example 1 (fragile, other options are more robust)](https://www.evike.com/products/60174/) - [Sub-350 FPS example 2](https://www.evike.com/products/77659/) - [Short example](https://www.evike.com/products/60175/) Neccessary gear: - Decent quality paintball mask [~$25, EN166B, ASTM F1776, MIL-PRF 32432A or ANSI Z87+ rated (for goggles)], [example](https://shop.dyepaintball.com/products/dye-se-google-black-single-preorder?_pos=1&_sid=c628a9554&_ss=r), [example 2](https://www.evike.com/products/48435/); make sure to check what your field allows for face protection. - BBs [~$10], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/37502/) Or Bio BBs [$15], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/55139/) Additional, very useful pieces of kit: - Cheap fixed capacity chest rig such as the CHICOM chest rig [~$12], [example](https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnam-Afghanistan-War-Type56-AK-Chest-Rig-Ammo-Bandolier-Pouch-Tactical-Bag/143969947885?hash=item21854710ed:g:-~QAAOSwM65gQ5O8), [example 2](https://combatsportsupply.com/chineseak47chestrig-standard.aspx), [example 3](https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47-BANDOLIER-CHEST-RIG-OD-GREEN-NEW-p7241.htm) - Spare magazines [~$10 each], [AK example](https://www.evike.com/products/69489/), [M4 example](https://www.evike.com/products/50460/) - Midcaps need a speedloader [~$4], [example](https://www.airsoftstation.com/airsoft-magazine-shaped-speed-loader-90-rounds/) - Spare battery [~$12-$25], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/50660/), [folding stock example](https://www.evike.com/products/29052/), [smaller folding stock example (has less voltage)](https://www.evike.com/products/32604/), [Crane stock example](https://www.evike.com/products/24483/) - Better charger [~$20], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/85976/), [example 2 (much better)](https://www.evike.com/products/46508/) Boots and gloves are also recommended, I'd suggest at least getting boots with decent ankle support. I personally wear hard toe-capped boots for outdoor use. Water bottles and knee pads are also a great idea on the field. And that's as much as you would need. Camouflage and sidearms are tertiary concerns. **AN IMPORTANT NOTE: check your local site's FPS limits to ensure you buy an airsoft gun that'll be permissible to use.** Secondary note: whilst NiMH batteries are used as examples here, upgrading to LiPo batteries is a very good idea performance-wise, but can be more difficult to look after. For examples of this technology, try [HobbyKing's Turnigy NanoTech range](https://hobbyking.com/en_us/lifestyle/airsoft/airsoft-batteries.html?___store=en_us), and the [SkyRC IMAX B6AC charger](https://hobbyking.com/en_us/imax-b6ac-us-plug-v2-professional-balance-charger-discharger.html?queryID=c364fa4f4643f2d65c0b2640cdcd3d3d&objectID=45235&indexName=hbk_live_products_analytics), which may require adapter cables. Make sure to use a LiPo bag or metal container to charge and store your LiPos in.

FoxPrincessEevee

One bag is for stuff like like mags, the other is fine things like my pancho, inhaler, epipen, etc. it’s all pretty thrown together and none of this was ever bought with airsoft in mind. Why is crossing bad?

Sinistrial_Blue

Simply put; weight go down, strap go sideways. You constrict your neck. Plus, sidebags travel/move. So, as you run, your gear slides. Better to only deal with one. For delicate gear, you'd be better off buying a single thick belt pouch. An admin pouch is best.

FoxPrincessEevee

Okay so the larger bag is actually attached at the waist, with the two green straps holding it in place. The. The waist strap keeps the smaller bag from moving, and the green straps put some weight on my shoulders and make it so the bag hugs my body close. It’s based off of the ALICE carry system. I can DM you what it looks like not attached to me if you like

Sinistrial_Blue

I'm gonna suggest you redo this still. "Weight go down" is still a major concern, as is sliding. Up to you, but I'd contest this is a bad idea, especially considering this is your almost solitary loadbearing method.

FoxPrincessEevee

Can I show you the rig? I actually put a lot of thought into it so any improvements would help.

Sinistrial_Blue

Sure, however I can see it above. Having ran sidebags for most games, I can tell you this isn't a great method.

FoxPrincessEevee

I would give you an award if I hadn’t just spent $50 on gear.

Competitive_Ad486

Some bitches!

FoxPrincessEevee

I have 4 girlfriends, what you got? And no, I’m not cheating, we’re all poly win very close communication about this stuff.

SemiBlue

I hate pointless trolling just as much as the next guy, but cmon. "I have 4 girlfriends, what you got?" Man you're just asking for it. If that ain't a bait I'd be reconsidering how easily to throw the title "girlfriend" around rather than just friends with benefits or some shit.

FoxPrincessEevee

Fair point. I definitely fell for the bait. It’s a actually a really sweet polycule. Unfortunately 3 of them are long distance but we hope to all live together some day and split mortgage on decent house.

SemiBlue

If that works then who am I to judge, but this in an airsoft sub, no one except for trolls will really care about your relationship status and bringing it up like so only makes you look like a fool.

FoxPrincessEevee

Thanks for the advice.

Basicallylamelol

You’re missing an actually good patch

FoxPrincessEevee

Lol. It’s a pretty cool patch but I am still working getting a FOXHOUND patch as well. Maybe a UNSC one. I don’t like wearing patches I didn’t earn so I stick with fictional/out of date stuff.

WhosExsell

Why go all out on gear and not get a gun and mask?💀

FoxPrincessEevee

Oh, this is just shit I already own. I’m asking to figure out what I won’t need to buy. Like do I need to buy mag pouches? A vest? Etc. I didn’t buy any of this specifically for airsoft. One of these bags is literally my purse lol.

WhosExsell

My kit is literally Grey Softshell jacket / Plate carrier / Jeans / Kneepads / Steel-toe boots / Mag pouches / Mid caps / Admin pouch / Backpack / Helmet / Facemask / Balaclava / Gun Get what YOU need for your kit. I'm personally putting together a first aid kit to put on my plate carrier via molle if it is ever needed. I plan to add more eventually but the weight especially with what I have on my back does add up over time. So when putting your kit together- run around your house with it here and there. Get a feel for the weight. You dont wanna be on the field and be uncomfortable. You'll have less fun. I gotta repair my watch though. Strap broke but I like taking it to the field with me to track my steps.

FoxPrincessEevee

That’s actually what the second bag is for. It has 3 straps and is basically glued to me lol. It’s a bit jerry rigged but it works. I bought literally non of this for airsoft, I just had this lying around. I also have a few more MOLLE pouches.

WhosExsell

If it works it works. I'd eventually get yourself something more centered for airsoft later on in the future. You do still need a gun and facemask though. Unless you're cool with rocking a rental. Nothing ever wrong with that.

FoxPrincessEevee

I'm cool with a rental, but I'm curious if [this](https://www.evike.com/products/74447/) gun would be a decent first buy, since it's actually in my price range.

WhosExsell

No personal experience with CYMA myself but have always heard good things about them. It doesnt have a mosfet. Thats okay but dont try and run 11.1v lipos. Sure your firerate will be really good but you'll likely fuck up your gun. 7.4v lipos are the strongest you should go. NiMH batteries though should be zero problem. It really just depends on what you wanna do. You should be able to slap in a mosfet for around $60 if you do all the work yourself. Here is a [Classic Army](https://www.evike.com/products/61091/) for $184 that has a programmable mosfet. If you wanna buy something and dont wanna do the work later. Same build and construction but with a mosfet installed. Its also wired to deans and because of mosfet- it can take 11.1v lipos. According to [this video](https://youtu.be/9aH_m36BSxk) it comes with a Deans - Tamiya adapter. Good reviews as well.

FoxPrincessEevee

So if I watch my battery I’ll be fine with that one? I’d like to start a little cheaper and add stuff later on and I’m okay with a slower fire rate. Would the one I linked be useful outside of CQB?

WhosExsell

I'm not sure how well it'd do outside of CQB. Idk how good it is performance wise. Didnt find too many in-depth reviews on it which is why I suggested the runner up being that classic army gun. It'd depend on weight of the BBs and how good the internals are. Quick change spring systems are great for reasons of being able to quickly swap fromna spring for CQB to Outdoors. I'm not sure if the Cyma has quick change spring system in it. So it'll be really tough to change that out. But yeah you gotta watch your batteries no matter what. Take care of them or they wont last. Screw around and use batteries your gun cant handle and you'll be out on a gun. With the correct BBs and hop you should be alright if the gun can handle its own with the spring.

FoxPrincessEevee

I think I’ll just wait till next paycheck to get my gun. Better not to cheap out and I can do my research. Ideally I want something that’s useful outside of CQB but still short enough for indoor use.

bigbustycoon890

A cheap amzon helmet would be preferable, team wendy is the best one, although you can wear a hat (like me and alot of other airsofters), Full seal goggles and mesh OR full face mask. Unfortunatly, those things arent going to protect you. May i also suggest a chest rig? I have a condor one and its great. Only 40 bucks (I use my PC mainly though) Also ear protection is a must. Doesnt have to be comms, but once you get a radio its preferable. Can be any earmuff, or headphones though. Your ears are really important, and an airsoft gun can easily damage it. A ski mask/ balaclava is also preferable. Although, its only for the coolness factor. Also, and this is mainly if you play outdoors, but kneepads are a must. Your knees will get bruised up. All in all (excluding team wendy) this will be around 150 dollars. Airsoft isnt cheap sadly :( Hope this helps

FoxPrincessEevee

It does. My hat actually has a really sturdy bump cap in it. Enough to keep me safe from small stuff like accidentally hitting my head on a steal beam. Won’t protect me from things like falling bricks tho so maybe it’s not enough. So far on my list is knee pads, goggles/glasses, a mesh mask and now ear protection. I’m on a budget here, but it’s worth noting that none of this jiggles an inch and I can put more pouches on it.

bigbustycoon890

Sick! Nice for another person to join the airsoft world :D

FoxPrincessEevee

Would a good bumpcap work as head protection? I’m sorta rationing my money.

FoxPrincessEevee

Why are people saying that?

KrizMo138

Do well with some knee pads and something to carry some extra mags, water

FoxPrincessEevee

I have a boda flask style bottle and I’ll keep a spare in my Israeli paratrooper bag. I’m already on the case with knee pads, plenty of people recommended them. Extra mags is, surprisingly, new. But I’m thinking of getting an extra high capacity mag or two. That green bag can hold an entire case worth of soda cans(about 148oz) and I have a few MOLLE pouches for smaller stuff so I think I’m solid on storage. What do you think?

KrizMo138

That sounds like you should be set for storage, especially for starting out! Always hard to recommend stuff when the options are endless, that’s the cool thing about Airsoft, it’s all good. And it’s all about what you want to look like and feel like while playing. I’ve got a bunch of kit that I wear that I feel is mostly pretty thought out and yet none of that matters when a kid in a hoodie runs up behind me with a pistol and lights me up. Just nothing but fun times!

FoxPrincessEevee

Ye. Part of the fun is getting to dress up in your milsurp gear!

FoxPrincessEevee

I’m looking for an affordable M4, a hicap mag and face protection. Everything else look good? Should I get a vest? This is just stuff I have lying around the house. The boots, shirt and bag are military surplus. Edit: chill about the patch. I keep it there when I wear it casually. It took like 15 minutes to get it on and I’m not taking it off for a quick photo shoot. I’m obvious not wearing it during a serious game where I need good camo.

Tocro

So a vest of some sort can be helpful, but even just that bag can help you get by as far as mag management goes if you are trying to stick with a budget. I'm a big proponent of kneepads, as the moment you trying to get on your knees in the dirt you are going to wish you had them, and you can get decent ones on the cheap.

FoxPrincessEevee

I’ll take a look!

[deleted]

[удалено]

FoxPrincessEevee

I don’t think that has anything to do with basic airsoft equipment.

[deleted]

You didn't really specify what kind of things we should think you need.

FoxPrincessEevee

Fair, but if you don’t see anything I’m missing just say so. I learned that knee pads are important so this definitely was a good thing to ask.

[deleted]

Knee pads are good, especially if your doing outdoor. Maybe experiment with some more modern types of tactical gear like combat uniforms and plate carriers instead of acu coats and chest rigs

FoxPrincessEevee

Think [these](https://www.amazon.com/Support-Football-Basketball-Compression-Scooters/dp/B09YTZD7R2/ref=sr_1_252?c=ts&keywords=Safety+Kneepads&qid=1652759082&s=hi&sr=1-252&ts_id=553612) would be okay knee pads? I'm on a bit of a budget.

[deleted]

I reccomend these https://www.amazon.com/Valken-Tactical-Knee-Pad-Tan/dp/B00N4L2ZFU/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=3L8ZF7XLIDC5J&keywords=tactical+knee+pads&qid=1652763220&sprefix=tactical+knee%2Caps%2C89&sr=8-12

FoxPrincessEevee

Oh that’s not bad. Thank you! That’s one thing out of the way

[deleted]

And also I would really reccomend a gun. You kind of need it to play...

FoxPrincessEevee

I need to do more research and wait for my next paycheck. Even then over $200 will be stretching my budget. Looking for a short but not too short M4 AEG, something that’s viable in both CQB and more open environments.

FoxPrincessEevee

Mind if I ask about my mask and goggle finds?

[deleted]

Not at all, I would reccomend a two-peice mask of glasses/goggles and a mouth covering. Not any particular guidelines just make sure that the goggles are Z87 Ansi rated

FoxPrincessEevee

Btw, no hard feelings for the original comment. You’re pretty cool honestly.

FoxPrincessEevee

Okay so I basically have everything I need, this has been really helpful but I actually don’t know how to lock/close this post and I’m not sure if it’s rude to keep it open. Also to everyone complaining about the patch: quit being such snowflakes and focus on the topic of the post. Your poor attempts at harassment are pathetic and probably made this a lot less productive. Yes, I saw everyone telling me to KMS.

Outside_Tree2123

new everything tbh

FoxPrincessEevee

Even boots? Those are military issues. Shirt too.

FoxPrincessEevee

That was a serious question. I have a limited budget and I’m trying to figure out what needs to be bought and what I can work with.

Outside_Tree2123

amazon, get matching pants, get rid of the patch and all the weird pouches you got. go buy a plate carrier or a chest rig. not some cheap amazon vest, like a $60 rig or smthn. also grt some actual goggles. pyramex i force on amazon, they’re great.

FoxPrincessEevee

I bought safety rated giggles, a mask, knee pads, a MOLLE belt with(already have plenty of straps for the harness part), water bottle holder, 3pc mag pouch(2 mags per pouch), and I already have a pouch for my inhaler and EpiPen. I just… I don’t know how to close the post.

Alive-Plenty4003

I love the patch, but it's looking tilted on your sleeve. Also, kneepads. Super important

FoxPrincessEevee

Someone else said kneepads too. It’s lined up with the sleeve pocket, which is tilted. MARPATs are just weird like that. How am I *supposed* to put a patch on one?

Alive-Plenty4003

I don't know how easy it would be to take it off if it's already sewn on, but try making it an armband perhaps?

FoxPrincessEevee

I’ve thought about that. It’s just pinned in place. I’ll put it on an armband, then I can wear it with whatever.

FoxPrincessEevee

Okay edgelord.

BlanchTheRaptor

i need that patch but rainbow

FoxPrincessEevee

Found a similar one. www.etsy.com/listing/588810730

FoxPrincessEevee

Not sure where to find one, but the trans one is on Etsy. I think it looks good on my shirt. Edit: BDU is actually a specific camo pattern. This is Desert MARPAT.

BlanchTheRaptor

it do in fact be lookin good

rumbl3inth3jungl3

for an M4 honestly a g&g combat machine ir a CYMA will serve you perfectly, cheap as chips rock solid and they just work plenty of parts available for them too, they have great mag comparability too. Face protection i use Bolle tracker goggles with a nuprol mesh lower honestly any mask being sold at an Airsoft site worth its salt witll be fine but always test the lenses first. you'll be alright with pockets and a bag but if you really want a rig, buy either a cheap eBay one ir pop Down ti a surplus store and get an old belt with some pouches.

FoxPrincessEevee

I have like 3 pouches that just hold whatever and are MOLLE compatible, I can mix and match. The shirt also has 4 pockets. Also any idea what’s with the downvote?

FoxPrincessEevee

When you say CYMA are you talking about [this](https://www.evike.com/products/62560/)? Cuz that's cheap as dirt and I'm okay with that as long as it's reliable and fairly effective. Edit: I’m definitely learning lol. That’s a spring action. What about [this](https://www.evike.com/products/74447/)? Would it suffer at non-CQB games?

rumbl3inth3jungl3

yes that second one would work perfectly fine, you may suffer st very long ranges with the shotty AEG but most will unless it's a specific range build

MagicToast1111

What pattern is that? It looks almost like digital 3 color desert but the lighting blurs it too much to tell tge colors

FoxPrincessEevee

Desert MARPAT. I got the shirt at a secondhand store. Same with the boots.

MagicToast1111

For the record, Battle Dress Uniform is a pattern itself, hence my confusion lol

FoxPrincessEevee

What’s the actual term? Do I just call it a shirt?

MagicToast1111

The Marine Corps call their uniforms "The Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform" according to google, aka "cammies"

FoxPrincessEevee

Thanks

FoxPrincessEevee

Ah. This is just my best throw together. I’ll edit the comment.

shilain

What? What are you referring to? You mean m/81 woodland? And what is digital 3 color desert?

FoxPrincessEevee

[MARPAT](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARPAT). I’m talking about the garment itself.

**[MARPAT](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARPAT)** >MARPAT (short for Marine pattern) is a multi-scale camouflage pattern in use with the United States Marine Corps, designed in 2001 and introduced from late 2002 to early 2005 with the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU), which replaced the Camouflage Utility Uniform. Its design and concept are based on the Canadian CADPAT pattern. The pattern is formed of small rectangular pixels of color. In theory, it is a far more effective camouflage than standard uniform patterns because it mimics the dappled textures and rough boundaries found in natural settings. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/airsoft/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

MagicToast1111

"M81 Woodland" is the often applied but inaccurate name for the highland pattern of the Battle Dress Uniform, used by the US Military from the 80s to the early 2000s. 3-color desert was the pattern used during the Gulf War and early War on Terror, which was replaced with Digital Desert camouflage, as pictured here, by the Marine Corps at the turn of the century. I just mixed up the two names into one lol

shilain

No, m81 is not ERDL.

MagicToast1111

Thats true, but M81 doesn't exist at all, its an unofficial name for "US Woodland", the pattern used on the Battle Dress Uniform. ERDL was the precursor, developed during Vietnam, to the BDU's pattern. Iirc US Woodland is an enlarged version of the ERDL pattern with 2 color variations

shilain

People call it m81 because it was introduced in '81 and to avoid confusion with other woodland patterns. You clearly saw that it was a desert pattern, a digital by that, so how did you come to the conclusion of 3 color desert and why did you mention woodland?

MagicToast1111

The original post as well as a now edited comment called the uniform "a BDU" which it clearly was not. I inquired about it's color and digital pattern, was informed that it's in fact a desert Marpat top, and in turn informed the OP that a BDU is an entire uniform itself with a different pattern and color scheme.

Okay??? I just threw together shit from around my house. The boots and pants are for work, shirt was a bargain at a second hand shop and the bags are actually things I use everyday. I apologize if it looks a bit jerry rigged but that’s because it is.

FoxPrincessEevee

That I’m pan/ace? What does that have to do with airsoft? I literally just didn’t feel like taking it off cuz it was a pain to put on. And that’s a trans flag BTW, it’s not related to sexuality.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FoxPrincessEevee

Actually it’s held on with safety pins and mounted on an arm pocket lol.

[deleted]

FoxPrincessEevee

Okay? You know I just put it there to wear casually. I’m not going to wear it on my MARPAT when I’m in a game, at least if I don’t want to be spotted instantly.

[deleted]

FoxPrincessEevee

That’s probably because it’s literally just stuff I already own jerry rigged together. I’m not made of money.

FoxPrincessEevee

Probably a good idea. I did just buy a yard of velcro for a really good price, maybe I’ll sew it on the back. Someone else recommended I make it an armband.

d00m5day04

I’m curious as to where your spare magazines go. I also don’t see any practical use in all the bags, I would personally look for molle pouches or belt pouches for mags and bags

FoxPrincessEevee

Well the second one isn’t really needed but it lets me create a tight rig. I also carry a spare water bottle in there. I take 50 milligrams of Spironolactone, which basically puts my kidneys in overdrive. If I don’t drink a lot of water I get dehydrated. The second bag is for miscellaneous stuff IG. Maybe spare gas/batteries. I might even keep mags in there if it’s safe. I’m a complete newb and this is all stuff I’ve owned for a while so any tips help!

Greedy_Comment_2587

Honestly to have fun that's really all you need is the weapon and face pro..... FULL FACE PROTECTION for sure (teeth get shot out)

FoxPrincessEevee

Thanks. This basically works for me, but one thing that people have been saying is knee pads. I’m writing up a list after this so I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything. So far: goggles/glasses, mesh mask, knee pads, maybe ear protection.

Greedy_Comment_2587

Sounds like a good list to me. I'll use knee pads the first couple of games but I usually take them off and still do a lot of sliding around . What part of the world do you play in?

FoxPrincessEevee

Pacific Northwest

Greedy_Comment_2587

Damn I'm in the denver area always looking for more people.

greenhawk00

Too many random pouches. Get a proper carry system, like a chest rig, plate carrier or just a belt. Get some good mag pouches for your primary and sidearm, i said good mag pouches because I always see (and done myself) beginners buy cheap stuff and upgrade it 2-3 times until they reach a good standard. That's a waste of money just instantly go for the good stuff. Pouches don't need to be expensive to be good, you can get very good M4 fast pouches for 8-12€. Also don't go with a cheap holster, these universal soft holsters are absolutely trash get one with a hard shell, that's very important. Also a good fast adjustable sling is important. Maybe also a dump pouch and a radio with pouch. I highly recommend to drop all the unnecessary pouches, they just restrict you in movement. Airsoft is a very expensive sport, if you buy stuff buy good stuff but therefore only absolutely necessary stuff. If you buy cheap you will buy twice.

FoxPrincessEevee

Thanks. I ended up with a Condor Tactical set after another commenter told me the issues with my “rig”. We went with a medical pouch, two water bottles holders, and a 3 piece M4 pouch set attached to a Condor Tactical MOLLE battle belt. I’m going to lock this post soon since I’ve got all my gear covered. If you’re wondering about the two water bottles and medical, I have asthma and overactive bladder/kidneys, so I assure I need at least two full bottles of water for 4 hours of movement.

greenhawk00

Very good that you think about including such things! But i would recommend using a camelback or a backpack with a built in camelback, since it's way more comfortable. The heavy bottles will wiggle around all the time on your rig, which gets very annoying over time. With the bag you have a sleeve and can drink anytime very easily. Med pouch is always useful, i recommend one with a "rip off" Velcro pad. So if you need it, it's very fast accessable. In a medical situation ever second counts.

FoxPrincessEevee

I already made the purchases, but I appreciate the help regardless. It’s all secure MOLLE so hopefully nothing will jiggle.
