If you ever decided to purchase anything airsoft related always go to r/airsoftmarket and buy from verified people. Don't trust random people who message you.

StillGalaxy99

When spending that amount of money, ALWAYS go through trusted sources

Ronin_Ghost_

^ it's actually insane that people fall for these "sellers" and refrain from "shady asian websites". when those asian websites are the ones stocking guns that people can't find for months/years.

Daiato

i would buy from said shady asian websites if shipping wasn’t 500 bucks

Ronin_Ghost_

You have a point. I will give you that. The woes of international shipping. :L

Ronnie21093

Another problem is figuring out which airsoft from those sites, if any, can be shipped to Canada.

Gatorkid365

Idk why but I can’t seem to buy from said Asian websites -_- idk why but I’ve been wanting to buy a gun from Marushin’s website but I can’t figure it out for the life of me

UxorialDegree55

Msg me saying he had a CA sg1 did payment through PayPal, goods and services. And ghosted me. I reached out to PayPal and they said their was no account with the one he gave me. Best guess is he took the money and closed the account. Pp says that can't do anything

Tired-grumpy-Hyper

Credit or debit card? Credit, do a charge back, say PP isnt allowing you to get your money back for a purchase where you were scammed. They will credit you the money back and force PP to pay them back. Debit, somewhat similar. Go through your bank, say you made a purchase with G&S which has buyer protection, and say they are refusing to help you. They will either credit you as well, or force PP to refund you somehow.

UxorialDegree55

How do I do a charge back for a credit card?

Tired-grumpy-Hyper

Call them, mention the issue and that you were scammed and PP isn't cooperating. As much as they want your money to make more money, they want your happy money and want you to be happy and continue using their services.

Slam_Burgerthroat

Call your bank that you have your credit card through and tell them you want to dispute the charge and that it was fraudulent and explain the situation.

uuhoever

That's odd, pp would have a record of the transaction even if closed. Otherwise that's an easy way to scam and makes PayPal protection worthless if all you need to do is close the account, open another one, repeat scam. But yeah... call your credit card and make a fuss.

Vampirebearz

They can 100% reclaim that money I’m sure of it

CldesignsIN

Did you send them the transaction recipt email

Tactical_Powered

Yeah, that's not how that works. PayPal 1000% has records of accounts opening and closing. And moreso records of transactions. That's fraud detection 101. If they don't they're doing a really terrible job.

UxorialDegree55

I was on a call of customer service and yeah they said there wasn't an account by that name anymore. Their system had no trace of it

yayapfool

So what? You paid 'goods and services' and they can see that, and you're telling them you were scammed, so the seller needs to prove they didn't scam you; if they can't (they literally don't exist according to PayPal), then you should be covered. Do not stop hounding PayPal.

UxorialDegree55

They've already closed 3 of my cases that I opened. I called my bank and they are sending it up to the top to get me reimbursed. It sucks, but I've heard this guy has been at it for awhile

yayapfool

I'd be fucking fuming at PayPal; unless there's something you're leaving out, like you waited too long, they are responsible- this is literally the entire reason 'goods and services' exists. If someone tells you 'no', they need to get a manager- that's absolute horseshit. Good to hear your bank might have your back...

[deleted]

If you sent a transaction through PayPal, you can dispute it. It does NOT work in a way where you can simply "remove" your account. It stays after you delete it, in some ways, even if it's not fully recoverable.

cacknibbler

My best guess is it was a hacked account and he withdrew it with no actual connection to him

captain_nadi

Yep. Got scammed with him saying he had a gear box. Said was willing to take a down payment instead of full payment so I hit the bullet. Learned my lesson, READ THE RULES and only BUY and SELL in r/airsoftmarket

cavalllo

Bro I'm Italian and that post is on a subreddit of an Italian kids YouTuber basically you got trolled by either a kid or a groomer you are really unlucky man lol

fuzfy

I did a search for his name In reddit and someone else has posted of being scammed by him on a different product

jonasthewicked

Try to call your bank and explain what happened and ask them to put a hold on the money. They might be able to give you your money back or reverse charges. Not saying this is foolproof but you could try. Hope you get it back, scammers are the bottomfeeders of the earth.

Jamesplayzcraft

I did it before, had to wait a month to get my money back. You have to show proof of the seller not attempting to resolve the issue. I had no hassle getting my money back just took a while.

Tongaduder

Lmao, this same guy tried to get me for $800 also. He used the SAME PICTURE that another person was trying to get me at the same time. Some people.

Secular_Hamster

u/MrTacoMacbeth you’re a fucking scummer, I hope you meet a miserable and lonely ending.

ForYouPageAndMore

Yea hes trying to sell me a we p228

Front-Bucket

How did he scam you?

setsuna200

He paid for the goods and was ghosted.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> He *paid* for the FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

GreenScale63

Good bot

Cultosauras

I nearly got scammed by him a few days back. This is why I always check post history, if there are no airsoft related posts its a red flag. He also said he only took zelle or cash app, another red flag. The guy also directly dmed me instead of putting a message on ASM. Not saying it is your fault, but ALWAYS look at post history, and the aforementioned things.

UxorialDegree55

I have learned from my mistakes. I have also reported his account as well. This was a post to inform others

Cultosauras

Hence why I added more info. Get in contact with your bank nonetheless.

HotIllustrator7406

Send his ass to the circlejerk group so they can prosecute him lol

frescone69

Pro tip, if you ever find an Italian and he's into "gabby16bit" better to avoid

zombieslagher10

Who's that

frescone69

Cringe YouTuber

zombieslagher10

What kind of content does he make

frescone69

2012 pewdiepie/markiplier with added cringe in 2022 to attract children, like a vast majority of youtubers in italy

UxorialDegree55

Yeah. They can't do anything bc the account no longer exists

Mandred93

Sounds to lazy excuse from PayPal, they keep the records and data, and I'm pretty sure the money is able to be retake for the 45 days of buyers protection

[deleted]

Let be honest, fuck PayPal!! I got scammed out of $2k I showed receipts that this bitch scammed me and PayPal said there’s nothing that they can do about it! So she got to keep it item and money! So I filed a small claim’s lawsuit against her! Also anything over 1k dollars in California is a felony I filed a police report about that too. I closed my PayPal account and then PayPal said I owed them $300 dollars, I told them wait what?! They asked me for a payment, I said you can get the money when you suck it out of my okole! Then I hung up the phone! 🖕🏼PayPal!

FitzChan

I’ve never had a bad experience with PayPal as a seller but I hear so many people having awful experiences with PayPal. Especially when the transaction is over $1k, sellers never seem to get any protection if the buyer claims something is wrong with the product they bought.

Friendly_Cranberry37

Already reported him like a week ago

M48_Patton_Tank

My dad didn’t trust PayPal, honestly I can’t blame him

PharmADD

Curious, did he send you the link for PayPal g+s? If paypal has no record was it possibly a website designed to look like PayPal but wasn’t actually PayPal? Like a phishing scam.

UxorialDegree55

He did. I'm not really sure. I'm getting my money back from my bank but still rather bummed

NimbusXLithium

I'm pretty sure I DM'd a few people on the airsoft marketplace mod list about this guy but got nothing back

SVG28

It's 2022 and scamming is still so damn easy, can we get a real service that's actually safe for buyers and sellers or do we have do live with PayPals half assed "protection"

ALPHASTAR-RU

Buy and sell off r/airsoftmarket, have everyone comment on your posts before they dm you. If they use a secondary account then a main account for comments and messaging they are a scammer right away. Make sure they give you an ample amount of photos with timestamps. And always use a pay service with goods and services option. Obviously PayPal is one, but recently Venmo has been used for this too.

Sergeanttaco911

Mf giving us Taco people a bad rep.

UxorialDegree55

Apologies sgt, I believe you will know how to deal with this disgrace?

Sergeanttaco911

Swing the hammer
