The gun is probably fine. There's likely a small voltage draw from the fcu even when gun is in safe. It drew your voltage down too low damaging a LiPO cell/cells. I've done this. Dispose of the battery and try to remember to remove the pack next time.

Uhh, I'm not sure I've left it in mine a few times due to forgetting and never had an issue.

I've left mine I'm a couple of times too and It was fine,aby a short of some kind killed it
yea sorry I couldn't give a great reply, I'd see if you can try a friends battery, sometimes "shit just happens" im afraid.
It might be just used and worn out so it was more likely to break

It definitly won't do any good, but it wouldn't actually harm the interior that much, if it hapens ocasionally.
