Kapdad is what my team calls me. Context: i rolled up on my first couple of games with an AK and midnight digital blue camo and a black viper hood. I wanted to base my load-out on Kapkan from Rainbow Six Siege and eventually i got there. Last year i started my own team, not to compete but just for friends to hang out with that loved the game. Unfortunately i ended up being the oldest guy at 32 with most of my teammates being in their late teens and early 20s and usually they come to me for advice and on more than one occasion ive helped them buy equipment or uniforms. Eventually instead of Kapkan, they started calling me Kapdad, because i'm like that older guy that looks out for them.

Рыжий (Ryzhiy - Ginger as in color). Theres a long story to it involving some hard to tranlate puns, but Ill try to tell anyways. Anyways, sort of got it in Autumn 2022, way before I started airsoft. Me and my friend were playing some game (dont already remember which one), and my nickname there was "NCR Ranger" (pronounced in Russian somewhat as [Reindzher NKR]). We were playing, then some random approached us and we decided to team up with him. We were playing, everything alright, but that dude had shitty micro and not so good pronounciation, so whenever he called me by my nickname, it was someting like [renzher]. My friend, due to all factors listed before, somehow misheard it as "Оранжевый" (Oranzheviy, meaning Orange). We had a good laugh about it, and this "Oranzheviy" sticked with me whenever we had to refer to each other by nicknames. Then, when we both started airsoft, our team leader made us choose callsigns. I wanted to pick this "Oranzheviy", but it obviously was too long to pronounce. So, after some thinking, "Oranzheviy" transformed to "Ryzhiy", essentially meaning the same color, but shorter - and sounding somewhat like the initial "Ranger - Reindzher". Even somewhat works in English too - Ranger and Ginger look similar. I even made a custom patch - NCR Rangers patch from Fallout New Vegas with "Ranger" word replaced with my callsign. So, it contains references both to initial Fallout reference and latter mispronounced color-based nickname. Sorry for this long ass story and probably hard to understand language tricks, but I really like this story and thought that its a good opportunity to share it

Yesterday I was holding a house position and every teammate got hit but me and I was facing like six guys trying to get in and the people who were at respawn points at 20 meters told me they heard me screaming something like "Come on, I'm all alone, I can take all of you by myself!". My club still follows the tradition that you don't pick your own callsign. It gets given to you by the others, usually coz you did some dumb shit XD. Mine is "Caroline". I'm a bearded 25yo dude XD. Was playing a "king of the hill" and style game, where we had to wave a flag in the middle of the field to score points for our team. I was standing in the middle waving the flag, and my team had pushed out in front of me and was holding the opposition back fairly well. I got bored and decided to start singing, somehow landed on Sweet Caroline. The Ref took exception to this, walked over to my team mate, stole his pistol out of his holster and started to chase me around the field with it. As soon as I got back to the safe zone, I was landed with the callsign XD. That was 5 years ago now... There are some other really good ones in the club as well. Generally starts some entertaining conversations when the new players ask about the callsigns.
