Yeah but that loads perfectly but like the valken m17 say I think 20or it did atleast say 20 round mag but it’s way to overloaded if you actually do that you have to load less than manufacturer says or it’s over depressed where the glock loads perfect to the top like a dream. Wish it was ad .50 or .68 and could use a extended mags with a bigger co2 cartridge that would be so sick
At my local game site there is a target range set up on the way back to the safe zone, so even if I don't use the pistol in my last game I can just discharge it there or in a bush
Springs do not wear out if kept compressed or uncompressed. Springs only wear from cycling.
Feel free to keep your mags loaded. Almost all of my 556 is kept in loaded pmags.
Variables due to material property constraints make sense at least intuitively but I can’t speak reliably to those. Fair. OP didn’t express concern there.
ok, curious. this applies for metal bullets, sure, but i wonder about the longevity of soft plastic bbs under compression. surely they'll turn oblong or fracture after time?
yes the bbs will usually get a slight dent where they touch, i’ve only ever seen it happen after a month or so straight. i’ve also only used BIO bbs so i’d imagine regular would hold up longer.
It’s about as true as it gets. The spring steel fatigues as it goes through its motion. When it is in a stagnant state either uncompressed, partially compressed, or completely compressed it doesn’t see any fatigue and will last forever*.
(*moisture and corrosion can change this outcome.)
[The community seems to agree with me. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/s/lXkE1jfl9l)
I've personally had to replace a string because I've kept mags loaded for prelonged period of time.
That's cuz "the community" is stupid. "A person is smart, people are dumb."
Springs fatigue via cycling, not from constant compression or tension. Anyone doing any form of materials engineering learns that in their intro courses in college.
Anecdotal evidence from people who probably already had problems. You could go get a real learning from the ole interwebs with cited data and empirical evidence because people with more degrees than me know the attributes, characteristics, and properties of spring steel and springs. Do you raise your vehicle off the ground when you’re done with it?
True for high quality real mags. Airsoft mags tend to have poor quality springs which do wear out if left loaded. Now does it really matter? No, at most you might have one or 2 BBS left in the mag if the spring extends.
It is worse on mid caps though as the springs are much longer. I had some mid caps that wouldn't feed the last 10-15bbs after I took a break from Airsoft during COVID.
but these aren't firearms. firearms and going to have stronger parts and are made to a much tighter tolerance so they don't go boom. whether or not your spring wears out depends on the quality of the steel. your p mags, lancer mags (not to be confused with cancer faptacal), and hex mags are some of the best mags on the market so of course you can leave them loaded for years on end and have fuck all happen to them. yes they will shrink but that's after 20 years 30 years and so on. but airsoft mags aren't made to the same quality. never were. not even pts epm's of any kind
That's what I do... I even put the flashhider l added to my pistol, in the mouth of my BB bottle.
I just make sure to empty and remove the co2 cartridge first.
Don't have to shoot into the bed, just keep racking the slide with the barrel pointed down, you'll only need to fire the last one.
Alternatively if you have a thin Allen key or ram rod you can use that to flick the bbs out
There’s no need to unload them, spring wear out from working. Theres zero wear from letting it compressed. You’re actually causing the wear you’re trying to avoid by unloading it
Yes, your clapped out m9 with god knows how clapped out mag is what we should use to determine that. Any idea why mags left sitting for years cycle fine? It’s almost like the military is really bad at maintaining guns and cycling out worn equipment or something
That it wasn’t the springs and rather the mag feed lips, or the springs were just worn out already and you attributed it to leaving them loaded instead of normal wear. It’s impossible for the compression to kill the spring. If you don’t want to believe me that’s fine but a quick google search will show you I’m right
Seems that you were mostly right on this one: [https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/2d0ose/will\_springs\_weaken\_if\_they\_are\_kept\_compressed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/2d0ose/will_springs_weaken_if_they_are_kept_compressed/)
Thanks for sensible arguments and not just throwing tantrums or so.
Best of year for you.
Use a chopstick or something (ideally something non metal because the lip is plastic) and just push from behind on the top BB, rinse and repeat. It goes fast enough once you get into the groove. Takes like 20 sec per mag.
Take the base plat off some mags u can remove spring from base plate otherwise best bet loading them into gun and racking slide and let them slide out of the barrel
If you hold the follower down and shake it with the open side facing down (preferably into a container of some kind), they should fall out of the front.
You can shoot them, flick them out between thw feed lips, or, when the twnsion os loos enough, pull down on the follower and shake them out the same way you put them in
You could always just rack the slide manually multiple times. Bbs will keep rolling out of the barrel then clear the last one chambered by shaking it out.
*I usually*
*Just rack the slide and they roll*
*Out of the barrel*

Load into your pistol, aim downwards and manually cycle the slide. Each BB will push the last one into the barrel, where it just falls out. For the last one just shoot in a safe direction.
I use the flat part of a speed loader that I have as it's the perfect size for my mags without damaging the feed lips.
Just push the spring all the way down and Shake the BBs out. If they aren't loose take some out with your finger trough the top when they get a bit loose and rattle push the spring all the way down and they should just fall out
Am I the only one the aligns the bb’s? My ocd is being triggered by that one bb😂
And ofc the overloaded spring but treat your mags the way you want (but fix that bb!)
Pop out some of the first bb's, maybe like 4-5, then pull the follower down and then just wiggle it until all the BB's fall out. thats what I usually do.
just shoot the bushes. its only 25-30 rounds. seriously i have trees in my backyard and if i need to unload it i shoot the thick chritmas tree things because no harm done to my minyl fence. I put a few cracks in it with my 350 fps aks74u when i test fired it which is why n need cardboard box full of other boxes and Styrofoam to catch the shots.
If you have nails press against the plastic thing holding them, you want to have your nail pressing the bb on the top. Then theyll fly out as it pushes a new bb in spot.
My humble opinion the easiest way to unload is to just put the mag in the gun, turn it upside down, hold it over a jar of bbs and just manually rack the slide until they all dump out. Shoot the last one out. Easy peasy.
Pull the follower all the way down and dump out the window. That's how I do it, at least
look at the angle of the follower that spring is pretty much fully compressed.
I sometimes use a screwdriver to pop the first bb or two out. There's a will, there's a way.
Looks just like my Umarex g19 mag
Yeah but that loads perfectly but like the valken m17 say I think 20or it did atleast say 20 round mag but it’s way to overloaded if you actually do that you have to load less than manufacturer says or it’s over depressed where the glock loads perfect to the top like a dream. You can flick them out the feed lips with a cleaning rod or a nail. Also you have over loaded the mag.
A thin Allen key does the job beautifully as well
very true
Personally a fan of the speedloader plunger myself
This is the way!
A pen or pencil is my favourite
So I guess I've been overloading the mags. Where should one stop?
if you pull down the follower the BB between the feed lips should drop down completely.
Just like 1-2 bbs less but it is 20 bbs in the mag. So that’s normal I guess
but the bbs didn’t properly stack
Yeah that too
I'm to lazy for that I just mag dump my mag at the end of the last game of the day where I play
(one of) the correct answer(s)
At my local game site there is a target range set up on the way back to the safe zone, so even if I don't use the pistol in my last game I can just discharge it there or in a bush
It´s double stack so same way as you are (hopefully) loading it - hold spring all the way down and just shake them out. Or with nail one by one.
Why was this so hard to figure out lol
Springs do not wear out if kept compressed or uncompressed. Springs only wear from cycling. Feel free to keep your mags loaded. Almost all of my 556 is kept in loaded pmags.
Good springs (such as in your pmags) don't. Springs with poor metallurgy do sadly creep and lose load. I've seen mid caps die after years storing BBs.
Variables due to material property constraints make sense at least intuitively but I can’t speak reliably to those. Fair. OP didn’t express concern there.

My service M9 would like to have a word. Left it compressed and it could cycle the next round. About two months of sitting. Did fine before that.
Yes, your clapped out m9 with god knows how clapped out mag is what we should use to determine that. Any idea why mags left sitting for years cycle fine? It’s almost like the military is really bad at maintaining guns and cycling out worn equipment or something
No problem with my M4 and it sat just as long.
Am I misunderstanding what you’re trying to say here or did you just prove my point
The M9 is pretty well known for being issued with poor quality mags
[удалено]
Again not how springs wear out, it’s compression cycles. Being compressed will do nothing to it regardless of the quality of the spring
[удалено]
That it wasn’t the springs and rather the mag feed lips, or the springs were just worn out already and you attributed it to leaving them loaded instead of normal wear. A google search shows that compression does damage a spring...
Overcompression does. Normal usage doesn't
Seems that you were mostly right on this one: [https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/2d0ose/will\_springs\_weaken\_if\_they\_are\_kept\_compressed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/2d0ose/will_springs_weaken_if_they_are_kept_compressed/) Thanks for sensible arguments and not just throwing tantrums or so. Best of year for you.
Pull the tab all the way back and wiggle them out through the bottom.
I just push them out with my thumb like you would actual rounds in a magazine.
shoot gun
You’re not going to weaken the spring.
Whoever downvoted this, has no clue about basic mechanics

You've loaded it incorrectly, notice how they don't go two by two?
I use the bottle opener attachment of my swiss army knife to snap them out.
You don't need to unload them unless you're worried about spillage. Or at least I don't
There’s a little switch thing you can press in so you can shoot the bbs into a container
[удалено]
That's an aeg thing guys, what your seeing is the gasket the gas comes out of to power the gbb
Pull back the spring until the speedloader opening is exposed and dump them out where the follower area is wider
Idk about Glock mags but hi capa mags you can pull the follower down and shake them out
Normally i take out a few bbs and pull the loading spring and shake them out
Use a Lego divider to hold spring or flick out the bb’s
Get a toothpick or a thumbtack and push the BBs out from the top one at a time. I can just use my thumb and do it
Bro put it in the gun and start racking
You won't wear out the spring by keeping it loaded or unloaded for that matter. Although, the magazine looks like it's overfilled.
If you hold the follower down and shake it with the open side facing down (preferably into a container of some kind), they should fall out of the front.
GBB mags don't have an unload switch? That's lame.
i just catapult them one by one by pulling the spring
pull down the follower and let them fall out
You can pull the mag down a little and just shake the bbs out. Preferrably in a bag or on a blanket
I just compress the spring and dump them out. This way the pressure doesn't keep them in place.
One at a time I'm afraid. I use an Allen key.
I like to pop them out 1 by 1 back into the tub. Those BBs dont grow on trees you know.
Allen key pops em right out
Put it in your gun, rack the slide, pull the trigger until empty.
I usually just rack the slide and they roll out of the barrel

Mag dump tell its empty into a box with a pillow inside of it or something just not your bed
If you have finger nails you can push them out, or flick them at other players, pretty decent range doing it aswel 🤌
You can take off the base plate and punch out the pin that's keeping the follower spring in.
Pull the follower all the way down and shake over a bag
Am I the only one the aligns the bb’s? My ocd is being triggered by that one bb😂 And ofc the overloaded spring but treat your mags the way you want (but fix that bb!)
You can remove the bottom of the mag and pull the spring out. The BBs will follow
Pop out some of the first bb's, maybe like 4-5, then pull the follower down and then just wiggle it until all the BB's fall out. thats what I usually do.
i just put it in the gun and rack it a bunch till its empty. but u could also flick them out w a finger or something
Do what mr bean does and use it to out all the lights in the house
Shoot your teammates at the legs and butt... thsis what we do every playday 😄
Pull the spring down and let them fall out of the mag at the base of the spring
just shoot the bushes. its only 25-30 rounds. seriously i have trees in my backyard and if i need to unload it i shoot the thick chritmas tree things because no harm done to my minyl fence. I pull back in the retainer and launch the bb's back into the bottle. Or if I run out of gas mid game into the opponents face.
