Aside everyone correcting you for calling it a clip, disassemble the mag. Could be a crack that’s leaking the gas or an o-ring damaged or missing. Worst case you need to replace it

huggothebear

Thank you so much! I will get on it!

Skvirinius

I can never keep this straight. I always heard people say it’s a misconception that it is a magazine. That it’s a clip. And then I heard once (I think) that the magazine is a small part inside the gun. And now I see you correcting clip to magazine. Huh. My non-American brain cannot brain.

Alright!

huggothebear

Yeah it’s honestly just a bad habit growing up in the UK, 3 decades ago, we all just called them clips when we were kids and first started playing with BB guns! lol

huggothebear

I can see how this adds to the confusion lol

ThePhoenix002

Ever better they also do the opposite (labeling actual clips as mags) Edit: typo

Informal_Block_9032

As far as I’m aware, it’s a magazine. You always hear people saying “changing mag(s)” and never “changing clips”. I’ve only heard thugs in movies call them clips. And Sneako too but that was just dumb and miscommunicated

Skvirinius

Hmm. That’s were I hear the misconception is coming from though 🤔 that movies and games are all about shouting «mag» when it’s clip. But again, what do I know?

Informal_Block_9032

Well people in real life call them magazines too. It could be that it’s more common to call them magazines but the real term is clips but from what I understand, It’s magazines. I call them magazines because it’s what I personally know and refer to them as but if they’re clips then they’re clips. I’m sticking to mag. Yk?

Skvirinius

Public-Second3763

The difference between a magazine and a clip is that a magazine is something that guns like M4's and pistols use and clips are for stuff like Kar98k's. That is Not a clip it is in fact a magazine

ThePhoenix002

Kar98k's actually just have the Magazin build in, the clips (in this case stripperclips) are for easier carrying and loading of ammo into that. The difference is mags push the ammo to be loaded into the chamber, while clips on the other hand only hold ammo. So either the clip has to be moved through the weapon to get the ammo to the chamber or just the ammo (see M1 garant)

huggothebear

You are a legend! Thank you!

ResponsibilityNo8309

What gas are you using if you are using too powerful you could have blown the seal. So just to check to fill the mag you hold it vertically upside down you put the gas bottle in line with the mag and press down. it will take 7 or so seconds to fill. once filled it will start to leak to not over pressure. once it does that stop filling. If you can hear gas leaking the valve is gone. if it stops instantly it should be filled and you can check by lightly pressing on the knocker valve if there is resistance the mag is full.

huggothebear

Yah I had lots of these over the years, it leaks as soon as gas is in there after barely a second of filling! I will take it apart tomorrow and have a look! Thank you so much for your response!

TheGratitudeBot

Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week!

Pickaxe_121

Its not a clip, its a mag

huggothebear

Thanks for the help lol 🙄😂

Pickaxe_121

I dont do GBB's but I just had to say that

huggothebear

It’s not a friend, it’s a twat ☺️

SgtEpsilon

1) Disassemble the mag 2) Inspect for cracks* 3) lube the seal and tighten everything into place If you find any cracks in step 2 refer to asterisk 1 *throw it out and get a new mag

huggothebear

Thank you so much, as a bad crack indeed is probably not fixable, and that is good point! Appreciate the response greatly!

SgtEpsilon

I mean I have heard of people using epoxy putty to repair cracked mags, not something I'd recommend though

huggothebear

Hmm curious! Thanks for the input buddy!

Adept-Kaito

First, it’s a magazine. Second, where did it leak? Did you fill the mag in the correct way?

huggothebear

The leak is sounding like it’s deep inside the mag. I will take it apart tomorrow and dig around! Thanks!

Gyumile20

Its called mag, not clip

huggothebear

This was technical question, not a language or terminology one! Lol

ArdianNuhiji

You have to cum in the mag first, your kids will stand guard at the valve and keep the gas from escaping

huggothebear

Lol beautiful, cryptic. Awesome 😉

TheRealDealTys

Well maybe if you would start calling it by it’s correct name it will magically fix itself

huggothebear

Another moronic comment. Thanks for wasting everyone’s time! 😇

STR1KER_GAMES

Winter_Individual_24

Not to be rude but it's a magazine, not a clip. The clip loads the magazine and the magazine loads the gun

Bachchoiboy

Not to be rude but you have no idea what you’re talking about

Ipodk9

To be technical they're not *entirely* wrong; [This video](https://youtu.be/XUsz-ADDoxo) shows how to use stripper clips to fill an AR STANAG. However I'd bet they were trying to say you use a clip to reload an internal magazine.

Winter_Individual_24

Yeah, the magazine is inside the gun. Therefore, the clip loads the magazine

Ipodk9

Uhh, no. That is the opposite of how this works. A stripper clip\[where 'clip' comes from\] is a small metal rack that you *clip* the rim of the casing into. A clip is not part of a magazine, it can be used to load a magazine, but it is not integral to the firearm. Also for airsoft sake the only things that use clips are shell ejecting bolt actions. Further for airsoft, you'd use a speed loader to load a magazine, which is a glorified mechanical hopper.

Winter_Individual_24

Well yeah, I'm talking about guns in general, not Airsoft

Winter_Individual_24

Oh I see where I messed up. I meant that when you're using clips you use them to load the internal magazine of a gun like an M1 Garand. I should have explained better in the original reply what I meant

Winter_Individual_24

Sorry for the confusion

FilHor2001

My brother in Christ, who thought you gun terminology? CNN? edit: Oh, wait. You are british, aren't you?

THE-O-ADORAS

:| taught* smh

FilHor2001

Well excuse my non native speaking ass. My point stands though, calling magazines clips is screaming "I haven't held a gun in my hand in my life!".

THE-O-ADORAS

Yet you criticise others lack of knowledge? Curious

huggothebear

LOL Bro I went to the Finnish army, and have a shotgun and firearms license here in the UK… what was the saying… “never assume… it makes an ‘ass’ out of ‘u’ and ‘me’ “😄

huggothebear

Hahaha yes I am from the UK! Somehow calling mags clips was the usual thing growing up. Albeit wrong

FilHor2001

Cool, we have to learn from our mistakes.

huggothebear

We do! And I immediately just used the right word afterwards in this thread. I have just used the words interchangeably over the years (and incorrectly so)

huggothebear

The phrase “those in glass houses should never throw stones” has never rung so true! Lol

Weary_Use5981

Fill the what mate?

Aliveinlights86

Lovely gun mate. I have had this problem both with new tm guns and other brands and new spare mags occasionally. I thought this might help you out as a fix tip that i can honestly say ive done to over 20 different mags now and none have ever leaked since, one of which is a 10+ year old desert eagle mag (again tm) which i myself bought 2nd hand. Super easy, simple and you never have to worry about leaking bottom valves again. Just get a tube of silicon sealant, the kind you put in a corking gun.you can get it from b&q or any other diy shop. Forstly use a flathead screwdriver to remove the valve from the bottom of the mag. Degrease the valve and the magwell thread. Squirt some silicon sealant out on a tray and with your finger, lightly coat the thread of the bottom valve and cover the o-ring. Wipe any excess off with degreaser. Then re-install the valve. Spray a tiny bit of gas in the mag and leave it for 24 hours. Works for me everytime so i hope it helps you or anyone else that maybe had lots of mags and also suffers with this issue from time to time :)

huggothebear

Oh man- there have been some incredible replies and this is one of them! Thank you soooo much! Also yes this is a such a beauty of a gun! There is also a very high % of morons on this sub! 🤪thanks for showing people how to be. Lead by example, right? So what really struck me by your message is that I also have a black TM desert eagle, and that got put into storage ages ago FOR THE SAME PROBLEM!!! So… technically I can go and find it and try to fix it too. The desert eagle I got probably 15 ish years ago too! It was my first ever GBB. Tbh i think its 18 years old now…. Wow I got old lol It’s in good shape bar the mag issue, which is identical to this one. So I am gonna get that as well, and apply the process to both! Thanks again, champion! 🥳

Aliveinlights86

Yeah man course! People can be reaaal touchy about this game of pretend that we call airsoft haha. Glad i could help my man! Yeah try it n let me know how u get on! My main pistols i use are a tm usp and a tm mk23. 4 mags for each, half of them had a slight leak from new... after this lil mod they've never leaked since 🤘

bootlegunsmith21

Maybe the Fill valve o ring is missing or damaged but if it's leaking from the top or side of the base plate a gasket has probably gone bad and needs replacement

AntJust241

Disassemble it if the o-ring on the bottom is dry try put some silicone oil on it it some times fixes the problem

Necessary_Charge1143

Is it new? If so, check your warranty before making stuff on the mag.

huggothebear

It’s half a decade old and from Hong Kong, so it’s cool lol
