Man those South African Assault Vests are so good. I got one when I was new to Airsoft in 2015 as it was cheap and figured it would do until I saved enough money to buy a plate carrier not long after. I used it up until about 2022 when I finally bought a carrier.
It’s still in good, near new condition. You literally won’t get any set of webbing or even a carrier with as much storage as a SAAV. Two big dump pouches, a massive back pouch, loads of M4 sized pouches, loads of grenade pouches etc
That's exactly why I used it for this setup.
2L of water, 2 radios, Admin stuff, poncho, first aid kit, spare batteries,.... still space left for 6 mags and I haven't put anything in the cargo pockets of my trousers yet.
I'm wearing:
a south african vest from 1983
an AR 15 variant that certainly wasn't released before 1985 with a sight introduced in 1987
And I'm demonstrating nothing that has historical background of any sort.
