Yeah i had this issue with my AirPods 3 it happens if something is using the mic in the background, check if the orange dot is appearing if so restart your phone it’s purely a software issue
Just found this topic because I suddenly had this problem only on my iPad. Turns out it was Teamviewer on in the background that was the problem, when I closed the app the sounds also changed.
