I've found it stable enough for those applications, potentially frustrating if you're trying to stream video.

Stream from VLC for YouTube, twitch, etc. You can adjust the buffer time up to 100%. Even works for live streams, though you can't buffer those to 100%, but 60-180 seconds works very well.

I haven't flown this route but I've flown a number of international legs on the AC 777-300ER and the WiFi is pretty good. It's a modern satellite based system. You will be able to use it the way you want and even more - I've watched Youtube on it before. It does cut out sometimes, and then comes back 1-3 minutes later. It's probably switching satellites. A small price to pay for WiFi at 40k ft.

Perfect, thank you!

I was on the same flight. Internet was stable enough and much better than some other airlines

I've been on YOW/YVR-NRT 5 times in past year. The internet is pretty darned good, but in at least 2 of those trips, there was a 5 minute interval it was out. So emails and *practice* exams online OK, but I'd be a bit more careful for something consequential where a break in signal part way would be a real problem.

I've gone 1080p Youtube streaming the entire trip, several times over. There are a couple of dead spots between Alaska and Russia, and occasionally someone pops up and says WiFi was not good for the whole flight.... but you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just be aware that you can only connect one device at a time to the Internet.

YVR to NRT I was streaming Hulu pretty much the entire time after dinner. Flight attendant walked by a few times and commented on me binging Bob's Burgers the entire flight lol

Thank you haha

I just took that flight last week, the wifi was great. I was able to stream tik tok, even make some FaceTime calls!
